To make this concept completely clear—even to the nonspecialist reader—let me say this: a treadmill carrying a still person (one who was not moving his legs) from one side to the other would hardly ever stimulate the person's locomotion and walking. Running or walking with increasingly heavier ballast, on the contrary, stimulates one's physiological abilities to a large degree.
What hinders might strengthen, what helps might destroy, bringing about an undesired adaptation of a physiological system. Such a principle explains the behavior of most physiological systems. |

Younger women with normal locomotion generally fall while walking and break a fall by arm extension. Older and more frail women often fall while transferring from a seated to a standing position. If they fail to elevate their centers of gravity sufficiently to support an upright posture, they fall backwards or to the side, directly impacting the

So the muscles, which we tend to think of only in terms of locomotion, are intimately linked to metabolism.
In terms of specific cell correlations, your Stomach Driver links bioenergetically to granulocytes, which are white blood cells that defend against foreign invader organisms, such as viral particles and bacteria. Bioenetgetically, the Stomach Driver field links to your brain, especially to the prefrontal lobes, and to mental functioning via the physical connection to blood sugar. |

Vitamin C is important for building and maintaining the connective tissue we need for locomotion, heart muscle tone, ligament function, blood vessel integrity, and adrenal function. The adrenals, which energize our fight or flight response, have the highest amount of vitamin C in the body. Our muscle system supplies the locomotion for survival. The first chakra, red in color, is linked to these survival organ and gland systems. Another example is leafy greens, which are coded for the heart chakra. They are high in calcium, magnesium, and potassium, which are very important for heart function. |

Each time the baby expresses its will by reaching out a hand, it receives feedback—through the touch of the rug, the sight of its hand executing the brain's orders, and the sense of achievement that no doubt comes from successful locomotion across the floor.
The Expression Circuit model, when it is more widely understood, will do much to quell ongoing arguments about what constitutes a stimulating environment for a growing child. A conventional method of enriching a baby's environment might include stringing flashing, multicolored Christmas lights around the newborn's crib. |

By adapting to region-specific differences in its mechanical environment, denser, stronger bone exists where it is needed without requiring a universal increase in skeletal weight to the point that mobility is jeopardized.
Bone also constitutes the primary repository in the body for calcium. Indeed, 99.5% of body calcium is contained within bone and can be mobilized to support the extracellular calcium concentration at times of need. For the great majority of vertebrates, the calcium environment is extremely high, reflecting its very high concentration in ocean water (-400 mg/liter). |

Application of the Rainbow Diet
Balance is the key to the Rainbow Diet. The application of the diet is based on the idea that all chakras, even though they have different vibratory rates and different types of awareness, are created equal. All of them must be nourished. |

Her problem presented constantly and, accompanied by a delayed onset of walking, was a definite abnormality, signifying the presence of real disease, in this instance most likely of the cerebellum, the part of the brain having to do with balance and locomotion. With three of nine siblings and no other relatives involved, there was every reason to believe that their disease was due to an autosomal recessive genetic disorder, but I wasn't sure which of the cerebellar diseases or ataxias (incoordination afoot) it was. No tumor or conspicuous wasting was seen on the brain scan. |

| Fat content is decreased in the back leg of the animal, for the cow uses this muscular part for locomotion. This area is called the round and is made up of bottom round, top round, and eye of round. Beef is generally a deep red with streaks of white fat within and sometimes around the cut. High-fat cuts usually appear to have more white streaks, which are referred to as marbling. Marbling generally occurs more when the muscle is used less, a phenomenon that also occurs in humans who are not well exercised.

There is no free-swinging movement in their locomotion. Let's look at their feet. They seem to pick up their feet heavily and lay them down flatly. Their knees seem to be completely cemented and stiff. There is little movement in the swinging hip motion, their spines are rigid and so are their heads. All of the elasticity and resiliency seems to have gone out of what should be a free-swinging body.

An exaggerated sense of time urgency prompts accelerated locomotion and faster decision-making. Cynicism, hostility, and impatience snuff out many personal relationships and deny the heart a much needed rest from disharmony.
Under stress, the sympathetic nervous system is alerted and the release of adrenaline increases; ultimately, one's breathing, heartbeat, and blood pressure also increase. Cardiac patients are often prescribed beta-adrenergic blocking agents to calm the sympathetic nervous system, a gesture that asks a drug to succeed where attempts at lifestyle changes may have failed. |

With no arms or legs, all those modes of locomotion are out of consideration. They're shaped like simple stubby tubes, what we might look like if stuffed into a rubber wetsuit that had no outlets for our limbs or head. Yet even shaped like that, these pseudomonads still have to flee across the table from this awful thing that is coming after them.
So they swim. No arms, so the breaststroke is out; no legs, so a flutter kick wouldn't help; but something even better than that is provided for their use. A propeller. |

The Medical Tribune recently reported that senior citizens do not exercise enough. By exercising, the article meant going to a gym for a full workout, exercising all the muscle groups. It is hard enough to get the average person to do an aerobic workout or to go swimming or biking. Less than 5 percent of us exercise daily. When you factor in all the diseases due to faulty diet and lack of exercise, you have disaster.
One exercise that is easy to do at home is sit-ups. |

This soft and spongy material enables us to enjoy locomotion and movement in a painless manner. The cartilage ensures a smooth ride, a frictionless movement of parts, but it becomes damaged from years of wear and tear. This degradation triggers the production of enzymes that further damage the tissue. The result is gradual degeneration of the cartilage. It becomes rough, brittle, dry, and pitted. Inflammation occurs and can affecr the synovial membrane (the tissue lining the joints) as well as adjacent tendons or ligaments. |

In the second experiment, when the men had to walk fast enough to get to 75 percent, the treadmill had to be on an incline, which of course is more tiring than level locomotion.
My point is that fit people may find it difficult to exercise aerobically by walking. Fast walking, at aerobic intensities, is just too darn hard for them. These people may need to find routes that include some uphill sections, or they may need to wear a weighted backpack or learn race-walking techniques so they can be comfortable at faster speeds. |

As today one extracts the energy of heat from coal and transforms it into motive power for our means of locomotion, the Atlanteans knew how to put the germinal energy of organisms into the service of their technology. One can form an idea of this from the following. Think of a kernel of seed-grain. In this an energy lies dormant. This energy causes the stalk to sprout from the kernel. Nature can awaken this energy which reposes in the seed. Modern man cannot do it at will. He must bury the seed in the ground and leave the awakening to the forces of nature. The Atlantean could do something else. |

Since they had the power of locomotion, Trembley would have assumed that these creatures were animals and moved on to other observations, if he hadn't chanced to find a species colored green by symbiotic algae. To settle the animal-plant question, he decided to cut some in half. If they regrew, they must be plants with the unusual ability to walk, while if they couldn't regenerate, they must be green animals.
Trembley soon entered into a world that exceeded his wildest dreams. He divided the polyps, as he first called them, in the middle of their stalks. |

Overall, 40 percent of the ADHD boys in the study also had the symptoms of omega-3 deficiency, including increased urination and thirst. Compare this to the 9 percent of boys without ADHD who exhibited these symptoms. |

This type of morphogenesis is distinct from that of cellular locomotion and presumably takes place under the influence of a different morphogenetic field, the orientation of which depends on the contact of the potential food particle with the membrane. This particle in contact with the membrane can be regarded as the morphogenetic germ; the final form is the particle engulfed within the cell. The chreode of phagocytosis leading to this final form is given by morphic resonance from all similar acts of phagocytosis by similar amoebae in the past.
