Cancers
The Lancet, a British medical journal, reported some years ago that unpasteurized milk fed to six baby chimpanzees caused two of them to develop leukemia. The milk had come from infected cows with bovine C-type virus. Later Science carried a report written by three doctors from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine. They concluded that there was an association between human and bovine leukemia, that there was a significant increase in the number of humans with acute lymphoid leukemia in areas with a high incidence of bovine leukemia. |

In the 1970s, transplants—using bone marrow taken from a healthy donor—had brought about some of the first cancer cures, in leukemia and lymphoma. Why not apply the same principle to a solid tumor, such as breast cancer? Using the patient's own marrow, Frei reasoned, would avoid the problem of rejection, making the transplant that much easier. "Intuitively it made sense," says Henderson. "If a little chemo is good, more is better."
The idea made sense to leukemia doctors, who had been using bone marrow transplants on their patients for more than a decade. |

They found a dramatic and statistically significant increase in the related cancers of lymphoma and leukemia, along with several histological types of lymphomas."He said,"What the Italian study found is that if you take these same animals and expose them to formaldehyde in the same doses, they developed the same leukemias and lymphomas."10 The FDA compiled a list of 92 symptoms from the more than 10,000 consumer complaints they received about aspartame. |

In one study of monkeys fed from leukemic cows, 100 percent of the monkeys developed leukemia after one year. This may explain why in Denmark, where there is a high rate of leukemia in cows, there is also a high rate of leukemia in children.

It also demonstrated a lower rate of leukemia, which is an interesting finding given that so many children today still eat hot dogs laced with cancer-causing sodium nitrite (a chemical added by junk food companies to turn the meat red), and sodium nitrite causes leukemia and brain tumors, among other cancers. You can read more about the dangers of sodium nitrite by clicking here.

They suggested that there must be further investigation of this relationship. Very few people drink unpasteurized milk in high-tech societies. This will be a problem for countries that do not pasteurize their milk.

Basophil levels increase response to allergens, myxedema, parasitic infections, and alterations in bone marrow function, such as leukemia or Hodgkin's disease. Corticosteroid drugs, allergic reactions, and acute infections may cause basophils to decrease.
Eosinophils: A type of white blood cell whose levels are most commonly elevated in patients with allergies (for example, hay fever and asthma) and parasitic infections, eosinophils are also active in other disorders, including eczema, leukemia, and autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. |

Genistein produces cell cycle arrest at both Gl/S and G2/M phase in the human myelogenous leukemia HL60 cells and in the lymphocytic leukemia MOLT-4 cells (Traganos et al, 1992). Furthermore, it has been shown that genistein induced G2/M arrest through p21Wafl/Cipl up-regulation and apoptosis induction in a non-small-cell lung cancer cell lines (Lian et al., 1998). Isoflavonones (genistein, genistin, daidzein, and biochanin A) also inhibit growth of murine and human bladder cancer cell lines by inducing cell cycle arrest, apoptosis, and angiogenesis (Zhou et al., 1998). |

For example, the solvent benzene, which increases the risk of leukemia even at small amounts of exposure, is part of our everyday lives. We are regularly exposed to benzene while breathing tobacco smoke, even secondhand smoke, pumping gasoline, while driving in high-traffic areas, and from industrial air pollution. Higher levels are released from the vapors of benzene-containing products such as glues, paints, furniture wax, and detergents. An estimated 44,240 new cases of leukemia will be diagnosed in the United States in 2007. |

Chard has been used for the treatment of ulcers, tumors, leukemia, and other cancers. In South Africa, the drinking of chard juice is supposed to ease the discomfort of hemorrhoids. Chard juice has also been used as a decongestant and to neutralize stomach acidity.

Blood and iron dynamics in cancer
In healthy individuals, the transferrin iron saturation ranges from 20-35 percent, but patients with malignancies, particularly leukemia, exhibit diminished capacity to bind to iron. Thus unbound iron is free to destroy cells and tissues through oxidation. Since cardiac tissue is particularly vulnerable to oxidation the heart may be damaged during cancer therapy. Chemotherapy appears to increase unbound iron levels. Iron chelators are proposed to counter this undesirable effect. |

| The baby was delivered early by Cesarean section and her leukemia disappeared for a short time, only to reappear as her hormone levels rose again. [Cancer 63: 1621-23, 1989] A 47-year-old man who happened to be supplementing with progestagen (progesterone) developed a secondary tumor in his lung after his right kidney had been removed due to cancer. The removal of the hormonal supplement caused the long tumor to disappear, which was confirmed by x-rays. The remission was reported to persist for at least 3.5 years. |

Proof that he had been on the right course all along came after his death in 1985, at the age of sixty-nine, of complications from experimental treatment for leukemia. The New England Journal of Medicine published the results of his autopsy, noting an "absolutely remarkable" absence of calcification and fatty deposits in Pritikin's coronary arteries. Those blood vessels, the medical examiner declared, were like those of a teenager.1

An in vitro cell study using an extract from strawberry leaves on leukemia cells found significant cancer-killing activity. A cell study found that strawberry extracts significantly inhibited the growth of both colon and breast cancer cells. Organically cultivated strawberries had a significantly higher antiproliferative effect than the conventionally grown due to their higher antioxidant levels. Strawberries may play a role in reducing estrogen-driven cancer as they are rich in el-lagic acid, which may function as an estrogen blocker. |

Just for example, one particularly exciting study done at the Cancer Chemotherapy Center in Tokyo, Japan, and using leukemia and colon cancer cell cultures, demonstrated that "epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) strongly and directly inhibits telomerase." Telomerase is the enzyme that "immortalizes" cancer cells by maintaining the end portions of the tumor cell chromosomes. Inhibition of telomerase could be one of the main anticarcino-genic mechanisms of catechins. |

Increasing evidence shows that chronic diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, encephalitis, multiple sclerosis, leukemia, other forms of cancer and even AIDS diseases are linked to vaccinations administered in the early stages of life. Rheumatoid arthritis is an inflammatory disease of the joints, which had been thought to afflict only the elderly. More recently though, the crippling disease has spread among the young generation and measles and rubella inoculations have been identified as the cause. |
| The manufacturer of one popular brand known as Butazolidin alka was obliged to warn the consumer that this particular drug was very strong and had led to cases of leukemia (cancer of the blood) even after short term use. Additionally, the drug can have 92 side effects including hepatitis, high blood pressure, dizziness and unconsciousness, as well as headaches. |
| Between 10 and 20 percent of the laboratories detected leukemia (blood cancer) in samples that were free of it.
Another countrywide American study showed that over 50 percent of the laboratories with "high standards" and permission to conduct all different types of medical tests did not fulfill national requirements. The worst results surfaced during a study when 197 out of 200 tested persons with abnormal test results turned out to be completely healthy after they were tested a second time! |
| Likewise, leukemia virus in chicken has been used as a carrier to insert human genes into developing poultry. It gets better, or shall I say, worse. A retrovirus was used to insert human fetal cells in pigs in order to grow aortas for transplantation into humans. When the pig's aorta was transplanted into the human body, it led to infections in humans with the pig's retrovirus.
When these viruses are used as part of genetic engineering, they combine with one another to create new plant and animal diseases. |
| We may have gone as far as to replace mumps and measles with cancer, leukemia, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
Flu vaccinations are mainly targeted at the older generation and young children. In the United Kingdom, about 10,000 people, most of them of very advanced age, (supposedly) die from flu-related illnesses. It may, therefore, sound reasonable to vaccinate the older people to protect them against the flu virus. But there is no total protection even among those vaccinated. |
