One study found that after kidney removal surgery, the circulating iron levels (ferritin) returned to normal among patients who experienced no spread of their tumor, while those who experience recurrence indicated low ferritin levels. X-rays showed that Nexavar doubled the time it took, from 84 to 167 days, for tumors to grow substantially in number or size.
