Reggae artist Tego Calderon said no to R Diddy when the entrepreneur offered him the opportunity to be part of the prestigious Sean John spring collection ad campaign, because of alleged human rights violadons in Central American clothing factories, reported eco-fashion model and journalist Summer Rayne Oakes.51 Meanwhile, according to Oakes, the British model Lily Cole said no to modeling for DeBeers, the global diamond company, after she learned of the company's alleged role in the persecution and dispersion of the Bushmen of the Kalahari to further their diamond mining interests. |

England's constitutional monarchy, its balance of powers, and its relative freedom of press and of religion had given it a record on human rights that was difficult to match in other European countries, least of all in absolutist France. Class differences there certainly were—especially between what were considered to be "gentry" and all others—but the hereditaty nobility was very small since only elder sons could inherit titles, the test of the sons and daughters being commoners; and the nobility was not exempt from taxes as it was in France. |

Citizens' Commission on human rights. They have a documentary so downright shocking that I couldn't even finish watching the whole thing. It's called Psychiatry: An Industry of Death.
Also be sure to check out the shocking book by Kelly Patricia O'Meara called Psyched Out: How Psychiatry Sells Mental Illness and Pushes Pills That Kill. |

Here's a brief explanation from Wikipedia:
The Sub-Commission on Prevention of Discrimination and Protection of Minorities of the United Nations human rights Commission,[16] passed two motions[17] the first in 1996[18] and the second in 1997.[19] They listed weapons of mass destruction, or weapons with indiscriminate effect, or of a nature to cause superfluous injury or unnecessary suffering and urged all states to curb the production and the spread of such weapons. Included in the list was weaponry containing depleted uranium. Continue reading at Wikipedia... |

That's why we're thrilled to be able to offer a program like this Citizen Journalism project: It empowers individuals to take part in the "information democracy" that makes the internet so important for the future of human rights, free speech, government accountability, corporate ethics and so much more. The internet is the pillar of information freedom today, and even projects like Wikipedia are hugely important for the free flow of information (which is exactly why the traditional old-school media loves to attack Wikipedia!). |

In fact, I know almost nothing about the organization other than the fact that I strongly agree with its position against modern psychiatry, as pursued by the Citizens Commission on human rights (www.CCHR.org)
On issues of religion, I happen to believe in genuine Freedom of Religion, and that means there's room in my belief system for other people to practice whatever kind of religion they want, even if it's eccentric or unpopular. I also believe in personal liberty, meaning that I respect individuals' rights to determine in their own personal way whatever system of belief serves them best. |

That's business as usual in the United States, a nation that has sold its soul to the highest bidder on eBay and now stands as an alarming historical example of what happens when a free market economic abandons basic ethics and human rights.
Must-see documentary: The Corporation. Watch this if you really want to know the truth about how corporations threaten the very future of humankind.
What can you do about all this? Grow heirloom plants, buy organic, non-GM foods and refuse to do business with corporations that use GM foods. |

| Individual rights, consumer rights, human rights have all been abrogated in favor of corporate profitability and deniability. The FDA is empowering its criminal bosses— pharmaceutical corporations. If the bosses steal...or rape...or kill, the enabler cannot remain blameless. The question for you, the juror, is this: When death results from an approved drug, and is not a result of the disease, shouldn't someone in the pharmaceutical corporation or the government be held accountable? |
| Bush into political power with resulting violations of human rights and millions of deaths. Wait! Remember, President Bush has used his power to keep the U.S. from being a member of the ICC. What a serendipitous move on the part of President Bush, since many of these greedy corporate terrorists reside within the confines of the U.S. Headlines like the ones listed below are every bit as terroristic as "Car bomb explodes killing 3 in the Gaza strip!"

| Besides safeguarding our country, the President is also responsible for protecting our basic human rights, especially as they pertain to health care —unless health care is only for those who can pay for it and/or who have insurance. In this respect, he has failed by allowing corporate terrorism to flourish.
If I were a member of Skull and Bones, a highly placed CEO, or some other notable that populates elite society, perhaps I could bend Mr. Bush's ear. |
| Human rights and patients' rights must be partnered with medical compassion and freedom of choice.
You, the juror —even if you do not have a chronic disease — will get your turn to fill the corporate coffers. The following is a stark truth that speaks to the issue: Seventy percent of what a patient spends in a medical lifetime occurs in the last year of his/ her life.. .and usually without recovery. |

Dennis Clarke, chair of the Executive Advisory Board of the Citizen's Commission on human rights, expands our understand of drug-induced violence to include some well known mass murderers. "In Austin, Texas in 1966, Charles Whitman went up into the Texas Tower, the first school shooting in the United States. Forty-eight hours later, the FBI held a press conference and said no drugs were found in Whitman's body. This is the same report that we got on the incident at Columbine High School with Eric Harris. No drugs were found in the body. |

The 130-page document points out that the impacts of climate change 'violate the Inuit's fundamental human rights protected by the American Declaration of the Rights and Duties of Man and other international instruments. These include their rights to the benefits of culture, to property, to the preservation of health, life, physical integrity, security, and a means of subsistence, and to residence, movement, and inviolability of the home.' The Inuit, unlike many around the world who have lost touch with their environment, know what is at stake from global warming. |

As she explains, she "became a human rights activist, knowing first hand that when an innocent, harmless person gets behid those walls under psychiatric care, nothing they say is taken seriously. Everything is considered an illness."
As founder of Citizens Rescuing Youth, Everett was one of many people organizing against Goal 2000, a law signed into effect by President Clinton. This law actually mandates that a mental health clinic be established in every school. Among her concerns were that everything was being labeled as a mental illness? |
| The Citizens Commission on human rights reports that a review of US school shootings from 1998 to 2007 indicates that 38 percent of the perpetrators were taking psychiatric drugs. In Columbine, Colorado, Eric Harris was on the antidepressant Luvox when he and Dylan Klebold killed twelve classmates and a teacher, wounded twenty-three others, and killed themselves. Six years later, in 2005, Jeff Weise was taking Prozac when he shot and killed nine people before committing suicide. |

Personally, I think allowing corporations to own the rights to food creation would be a gross violation of nature and basic human rights. But then again, we live in a free enterprise society, and you can very easily argue that if there is no economic incentive for a company to create these food fabrication formulas, then who would bother doing so?
I would say that there are plenty of universities and open source communities passionate about food and nutrition who would be more than willing to create these recipes and just give them away to people. |
| This situation will stand as a heinous violation of human rights and nature. Human beings evolved in a natural environment in which they had access to fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, grasses and animals. These were all available free of charge as long as a person was willing to expend the effort and time necessary to gather such items. Nature offered them freely. Nature didn't charge you for creating vitamins and minerals. The plants and soils provided these on their own, naturally. |

Gandhi’s defiance may teach us something very important about modern times, and that is that when a law is so unjust as to stand in violation of fundamental human rights, it is not only the right, but the duty of individuals to stand in firm opposition to that law and to challenge whatever authority unjustly imposes that law upon the people. |

In China, they harvest organs from executed prisoners, but Canada appears to be upping the ante on that human rights abuse by potentially harvesting organs from EVERYONE.
Doctors and politicians, of course, will be exempt from the organ harvesting policy, not because they deserve special treatment, but only because they have no hearts to begin with.

What's interesting is that one of the main proponents of this bill was the Citizen's Commission on human rights (CCHR). Other groups that supported this law include the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), the National Foundation of Women Legislators (NFWL), and Parents for a Label and Drug Free Education.
You may wonder why the NAACP, in particular, backed legislation like this. The answer is because it was predominantly black children who were being labeled as problem children and dosed with these drugs. |

It is a journey in the opposite direction to that which the "militant" environmentalist or the defender of human rights may take. It is a journey that starts from within ourselves and which opens us to the world.

From "Arbeit macht frei" to "Codex Alimentarius"
Just fifteen years after they were convicted in the Nuremberg War Crimes Tribunal, Bayer, BASF and Hoechst were again the architects of the next major human rights offences. In 1962, they established the Codex Alimentarius Commission. This dark period of German history is inextricably bound to one man, Fritz ter Meer:
He was a member of the Managing Board of IG Farben from its inception to its dissolution. As the Wartime Manager, he was responsible for IG Auschwitz. |
