Shamai: In health food stores. If they don't see them, they can ask for them. They are in general distribution to health food stores in the Western United States. In the East it's a little bit harder, although they can certainly get them. There is distribution to health food stores in the East. But in the West, they're readily available through the mainstream health food distributors. Mike: For those who can't find them locally, can they go to your website? Shamai: They can. And I supply from the website as well. Of course, I try to not undermine the retailers and the distributors.

Right now, we're selling it to health food stores. Steve: Do you have any health food stores that people might check out right now? Goodry: Yes, if you go to any of your main health food stores in the area, and the food co-op's, you'll probably find the product.

Sprinkle on Parmesan or Romano cheese, and toss the salad with a high-quality Caesar dressing, such as Annie's Naturals Caesar Dressing (available at health food stores). Note: I find that shredded or flaked Parmesan or Romano cheese tastes better than grated. You can buy it in these forms or shred it yourself with a large-holed grater.

Look for these in health food stores or get them directly from Paul's website. (Paul's company also has a dark chocolate raw food bar that's worth looking into...) Transition Nutrition (www.TransitionNutrition.com) has introduced an incredibly delicious new Bliss Mix superfood mix made of raw cashews, goji berries, mulberries, macadamia nuts and other goodies. These aren't just commodity items, however: These are premium, organic fruits and nuts, and you can clearly taste the difference. I dare say it's the most delicious raw fruit-n-nut mix I've ever tasted.

Innovative dried aloe vera gel product now available from Good Cause Wellness

Mike Adams, the Health Ranger
See article keywords and concepts
Aloe vera liquids have been available in health food stores for a long time. While there are some quality products on the market, many of them are gimmicks made mostly of water and containing very little aloe vera juice. In fact, did you know it's perfectly legal for an aloe vera juice product to claim "Made with 100% Aloe Vera" on the front of the bottle when, in reality, it's made from 99% water and only 1% aloe vera juice? That's why you see so many aloe vera juice products using thickeners on the ingredients label.
If you rehydrate it, you'll find that it's actually competitive with the liquid aloe vera products commonly sold in health food stores. That's because most "gel" products are made primarily of water. Take the water out and there's not much product left in most of those bottles. The GCW aloe vera is the most concentrated form of aloe vera gel flakes you can buy. Add water and it expands and thickens rapidly. Remember: The aloe vera plant uses the gel as a water storage matrix. That's its job! And it does it well. A tiny amount of powder makes a whole lot of gel.

The top five cancer-causing foods

You can find some without nitrites, but you'll have to look for them in natural grocers or health food stores. Bacon is also high in saturated fat, which contributes to the risk of cancers, including breast cancer. Limiting your consumption of processed meats and saturated fats also benefits the heart. Doughnuts: Doughnuts contain hydrogenated oils, white flour, sugar, and acrylamides. Essentially, they're one of the worst cancer foods you can possibly eat.

Tyranny in the USA: The true history of FDA raids on healers, vitamin shops and supplement companies

Postal Services conducted commando-style raids on nearly 40 different health food stores, vitamin companies, and natural health clinics from May through September. The homes of company owners and employees were also raided, and some raids were conducted with SWAT teams brandishing assault weapons and flak jackets. In one home, a mother who was breast feeding her infant was reportedly "roughed up and handcuffed for 11 hours while FDA agents ransacked her home." Items seized in the raids included vitamins, minerals, herbs, and nutritional supplements.

Almond butter, sold by the jar, is available next to peanut butter, jams, and jellies at many supermarkets and health food stores. • Use almond milk in breakfast smoothies or on cereal. You'll find it in an unrefrigerated box next to the soy milk section at the supermarket. • Munch on some almond trail mix or snack mix. • Roast whole almonds with kosher salt and a variety of herbs, such as rosemary, thyme, curry powder, cumin, cinnamon, or cardamom for some kick. • Add slivered almonds to rice, couscous, other grain dishes, and pasta.

Dosage: Theanine supplements are sold in health food stores. Dosages range from 50 to 200 mg, taken one to three times daily. When you shop, look for the "SunTheanine" logo on the bottle, which indicates a high-quality source. You can safely combine it with GABA, and some formulations do combine them. Based on research, GABA starts relaxing the mind thirty to forty minutes after ingestion. Another option is to drink one or two cups of green tea daily. Tryptophan and 5-hydroxy-tryptophan (5-HTP) Principal use: For depression, anxiety, and insomnia.

Maybe those things that I am doing today are going to be typical in the health food stores or your supermarket 10 years from now -- coenzyme vitamins and Kreb's cycle nutrients, and excipients that are not toxins in themselves. Mike: We live in a time now where there is such a great opportunity to reach out to people. The pace of knowledge acquisition is accelerating. The conversation that we are having right here, over the next year will be read by more than a million living beings. Imagine what that does to the mass consciousness.

As an alternative to sugar, consider the herbal sweetener stevia, which is available in health food stores. If you often have to work for long stretches and don't have time for a nutritious lunch or dinner, keep some healthful snacks handy. These snacks might include slices of deli meats (chicken, turkey, beef, or ham), deli cheese (as long as you are not allergic to dairy products), or nuts (unsalted peanuts, cashews, pecans, or almonds). It won't take more than a minute to eat some of these foods. You might keep a can of tuna or sardines or a couple of apples handy as well.
Although DHEA is available at many health food stores without a prescription, it's best to have your doctor measure your blood DHEA-S levels to ensure that you need the hormone. If your levels are low to low normal, consider adding 25 mg of DHEA daily. Have your doctor check your blood levels again after six months. Note: If you are under thirty-five years of age, it's unlikely that you need DHEA supplementation. Ginseng. Extracts of ginseng (specifically, those containing saponins) appear to modulate dopamine levels in the brain.
Another option is to take melatonin supplements, which are sold without a prescription at most health food stores and pharmacies. You'll have to experiment with the dosage—too little won't help and too much may leave you feeling drowsy. Start with a low dose, such as 250 to 500 meg (0.25 to 0.5 mg), about one to two hours before you go to bed. Don't drive until you get a sense of how drowsy melatonin makes you, and don't combine it with alcohol or any other sedatives.
The Whole Body Cleanse kit from Enzymatic Therapy is a two-week supplement program (available at health food stores or by calling 800-783-2286) that can be used up to four times a year. It contains natural laxatives, silymarin, and other ingredients that help to restore gut and liver function. Supplements for Cocaine or Meth Abuse Vitamin C. The brain normally has high concentrations of vitamin C, which can protect against the toxic effects of stimulants. High doses of vitamin C may also alter the activity of opiate receptors in the brain, leading to less interest in drugs.

Whey is a natural by-product of the cheese-making process but it typically comes in a powdered supplement form and can be found in most health food stores. The most common forms seen in dietary supplementation are whey protein concentrate and isolate. Whey protein isolate contains ninety percent or more protein and also contains little to no fat or lactose (making it tolerable by most that may be lactose-intolerant). Most who have "dairy protein allergies" often have sensitivity to the larger protein in milk called casein and are not usually allergic to whey protein. A Serving of Food Lore...

Although agave is widely touted on the Internet and in health food stores as safe, natural and low glycemic, it is "a non-GRAS (not generally recognized as safe) label for highly refined fructose, which is metabolized in your body like high fructose corn syrup (HFCS)," according to Russ Bianchi, CEO of Adept Solutions, a global food formulation firm.

Price Foundation Web site: Except for a brief hiatus in 1990, raw milk has always been for sale commercially in California, usually in health food stores, although (there was) a period when it was even sold in grocery stores. Millions of people consumed commercial raw milk during that period and although the health department kept an eagle eye open for any possible evidence of harm, not a single incidence was reported. During the same period, there were many instances of contamination in pasteurized milk, some of which resulted in death.

Many candy bars, in both supermarkets and health food stores, are marketed for their energy-boosting benefits. Nearly all of them contain various sugars, which would place them high on the glycemic index. They may temporarily boost blood-sugar and energy levels, but they also lead to a subsequent plummeting of blood-sugar levels. For all practical purposes, most of these energy bars are just another type of candy bar, and energy drinks are a soft drink that most people could do without. How Do the Glycemic Index and the Glycemic Load Fit In?
The main sections of natural food markets and health food stores offer a great bounty, and you'll generally fare better there, nutritionally. Here are some examples. • The meat department usually sells grass-fed or free-range meats and fowl. • The deli department normally has high-quality deli meats and prepared salads. • The seafood department usually has high-quality fresh fish and shellfish. • The produce department typically sells mostly organic fruits and vegetables. • The dairy department will likely have organic milk, cream, and other products.

Goji berries, on the other hand, are easy to find in health food stores and are loaded with nutrients. The juice is perfectly good as well, but way over-hyped (and overpriced); hence Goji berries yes, Goji juice, regrettably, no. Beverages That Deserve Their Own Entry The rest of the beverages presented no such "dual" personality problems. The only way to consume tea is to drink it; same with coffee. Wine, though it comes from grapes (which got their own entry), has properties of its own and in any case has a whole different personality than the fruit it comes from.
Snow peas can be found in the produce section of most health food stores and specialty markets. They're even beginning to make their way into your general-purpose supermarket, especially in the frozen vegetable section. Look for brightly colored, crisp pods that have fresh-looking leaflets and small seeds. Use as soon as possible or store in the fridge for up to three days. note: When you stir-fry them, be sure not to overcook. They taste best—and are most nutritious—when they are bright green. And by the way, they're very tasty raw, in salads.
WORTH KNOWING The hemp seeds themselves are increasingly becoming available at health food stores, and I can tell you they're delicious. Hemp seeds contain all the essential fats we've been talking about, plus they're about 25 percent protein and 10 to 15 percent fiber and contain a rich array of minerals, particularly phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, sulfur, and calcium. I love sprinkling them on stuff, or eating them out of the bag.

Someone bought a container of them and distributed small amounts to health food stores throughout the U.S., and that container probably lasted for 15 years. The seeds were good. If you planted them, they would grow. Flax seeds have been used in a number of different products and people use de-oiled flax meal and whatever. When chia came to me, I realized from the research I was doing that it had great antioxidant value, which the flax does not. More recently we found that the Indians -- I think it was the Aztecs -- would grind it into flour and it would not oxidize. It would stay for years.

You'll frequently see it in health food stores as part of "mesclun salad." It's got a mild, sweet-and-sour flavor and a chewy texture. Spinach þ Calorie for calorie, green leafy vegetables like spinach provide more nutrients than almost any other food on the planet. Spinach is loaded with vitamins and is one of the best sources of vitamin K. Vitamin K is kind of the Rodney Dangerfield of bone health vitamins: "It don't get no respect," and no one talks about it.

Frank was using nutritional yeast and RNA derived from yeast, which has been in health food stores for years. Dr. Frank found that when he had patients consume a combination of sardines and fish that were high in RNA, along with B complex vitamins and RNA from yeast, he could take almost anyone who was over 50 and in three or four weeks have them looking 10 or 15 years younger. These people would start feeling energetic, and have greater endurance and aerobic capacity. Our ideas about RNA developed over time. First, we were eating and experimenting with sardines. Then we discovered Dr.

Pau d'Arco tea, available in bulk or as tea bags at health food stores, has strong antifungal properties. Take 2 cups of the tea a day. Supplements: Take 1,000 mg of vitamin C twice a day for its immune-enhancing functions. Take a high-potency multivitamin. It will provide many nutrients that will support immune function. 29 TIP: USE COTTON SOCKS Clean and thoroughly dry your feet daily, and expose them to the open air as often as possible. Use cotton socks so that your feet can breathe and change your socks every day.
Plantain leaf: A salve of plantain leaf, available at local health food stores, is healing and soothing when used topically. Depending on the individual case, other plants can be mixed with plantain when making a salve. For example, antifungal herbs can be added if the herbalist suspects that fungus may be an issue. Calendula and chamomile: These topical anti-inflammatory plants can calm the inflammation that is symptomatic of this disorder. Calendula and chamomile flowers are often made into creams that can be easily applied to an inflamed scalp.
Take a tincture, available from health food stores, made from the above-ground parts of horsetail. To make a tea, boil 1-2 g of the plant in a few cups of water. Ingest about 6 g of the plant daily. Caution: A species related to horsetail, Equisetum palustre, has a toxic compound. Make sure that the product you use does not contain this horsetail relative. Hair tonic: There are many different recipes available for hair tonics that combine herbal medicines with other ingredients to create a mixture that promotes strong, healthy hair. One recipe includes nettles as a main ingredient.
