Kraft sells avocado-free guacamole dip product made with hydrogenated oils

Avocado should be the main ingredient in guacamole, of course. So what are companies like Kraft putting in their foods instead of avocado? Partially hydrogenated oils, of course, because it's a lot cheaper than avocados. The dip from Kraft has less than 2% avocado which means it's really not guacamole. It's more like "dumpster dip" because the primary ingredients are garbage for your diet. This recipe may not be a big surprise given that avocado is a rather expensive ingredient to use.
Let's put some guacamole in here. I bet it'd be good.' But the CEO comes along and says, 'Well, we can't really do that because that's an expensive ingredient, so let's not use any avocado.' And then the researcher says, 'Wow. Okay. We can just throw in hydrogenated soybean oil and artificial colors and make it look like avocado.' Then the CEO says, 'Yes and then we can sell it at the price of regular guacamole and no one will know the difference as long as they don't read the ingredients label!' It's absolutely brilliant. What fantastic food marketers we have in this country.

Did you know that guacamole dips often contain no guacamole? They're made with hydrogenated soybean oil, artificial avocado flavoring, monosodium glutamate and green food coloring made from petrochemicals. Yumm! It's the kind of diet that makes a kid lose his mind, pick up an old refurbished AK-47 brought home by a U.S. soldier from Iraq, lock and load a double-pack of 30-round ammo magazines, and go to town unloading bullets on his classmates. This is no exaggeration: Chemicals in food cause violent behavior in young men.

Avocados are also excellent in recipes far beyond simple guacamole. I use avocados blended with stevia and soy milk to make a delicious ice cream-like textured milkshake drink. It's one of my favorite recipes. You can also throw in some supergreens powder or berries, or make yourself a tropical mix by blending avocados, bananas, papayas, macadamia nuts, stevia, soy milk and ice together in one recipe. It's a delicious tropical paradise drink that's also extremely good for you. And it isn't made by Kraft.
Then the CEO says, 'Yes and then we can sell it at the price of regular guacamole and no one will know the difference as long as they don't read the ingredients label!' It's absolutely brilliant. What fantastic food marketers we have in this country. And by the way, I really applaud the ethics and the use of wholesome, natural ingredients by Kraft which is also, by the way, the owner of Philip Morris, the cigarette company.
If anything, shouldn't it say 'artificial guacamole dip' in the same way that fake crabmeat products say 'artificial crabmeat?' By the way, have you ever read the ingredients on artificial crabmeat? That's enough to put you into a shivering frenzy. One of the ingredients in artificial crabmeat is, believe it or not, beef plasma. That's the liquid part of blood, minus the red blood cells. If you've ever popped an infected sore and watched an amber-colored liquid ooze out, that's plasma. Apparently, it makes great artificial crabmeat if you mix it with cod and artificial colors.

Add 1 teaspoonful or so of guacamole to each chip before serving. Tip: Good cheeses for this recipe include Red Leicester, Double Gloucester, or any sharp Cheddar. Greek-Style Gyros Vi pound ground lamb V2 pound ground sirloin or other lean ground beef 1 small sweet onion, grated or finely diced 2 large cloves garlic, finely diced 2 tablespoons fresh diced mint or parsley 1 teaspoon oregano Vi teaspoon cumin V2 teaspoon ground coriander fresh lime juice Mix all of the ingredients except the lime juice in a bowl and form into patties.
Eat off the plate instead of assembling these ingredients in tortillas. The guacamole is fine, but skip the beans and rice, which have a lot of carbohydrate calories. Some Mexican and South American-style restaurants serve ceviche, which typically contains seafood marinated and "cold cooked" in lime juice and a mix of mild and hot peppers. Ceviche is very tasty and free of sugar and other carbs. Still other options are came asada (broiled or grilled steak) and polio asado (broiled chicken). New Mexican cuisine has many differences from Mexican and Tex-Mex cuisine.

Most food dips (like guacamole dip) are made with hydrogenated oils, artificial colors and monosodium glutamate. Many guacamole dips don't even contain avocados. 7. Plastic food packaging is a potent health hazard. Scientists now know that plastics routinely seep the chemical bisphenol A into the food, where it is eaten by consumers. Cooking in plastic containers multiplies the level of exposure. Bisphenol is a hormone disruptor and can cause breast formation in men and severe hormonal imbalances in women. It may also encourage hormone-related cancers such as prostate cancer and breast cancer.

How food manufacturers trick consumers with deceptive ingredients lists

Brand-name food companies make products like "Guacamole Dip" that contains no avocado! Instead, they're made with hydrogenated soybean oil and artificial green coloring chemicals. But gullible consumers keep on buying these products, thinking they're getting avocado dip when, in reality, they're buying green-colored, yummy-tasting dietary poison. Food names can include words that describe ingredients not found in the food at all. A "cheese" cracker, for example, doesn't have to contain any cheese. A "creamy" something doesn't have to contain cream.

Eat these bad boys no more than two or three times a year; July Fourth, the Super Bowl, and a free pass. Just because a meal is an old family favorite doesn't make it great for your health. Q: Why do so many people in industrialized countries have D deficiencies when these people have better access to good foods? A: The simple answer is that vitamin D usually doesn't come from food.

I love fresh guacamole. I make it at my house with all raw organic ingredients and it is absolutely delicious. I saw they had guacamole on the menu so I inquired, was the guacamole made fresh? The waiter told me yes. I inquired a little further. I asked, "So you actually take avocados and mash them up in the back or does it come in prepackaged mix?" And he said, "Oh, well we do get a mix, but we add water and make it fresh every day." His idea of fresh and homemade and my idea were two different things.

So say you had a little olive oil on a baked potato or some guacamole on tortilla chips. The amount of sugar going into your system is going to be leaked in over time. So instead of a quick spike in blood sugar, which would happen if you ate the chips by themselves, by combining fat with your snack, the sugar is let out in small amounts over time, because fat takes longer to digest than sugar. "That's why we eat foods in combination—because it causes a better biochemical reaction, which is ideal for optimal health," Vollmuth adds.
