Review: Auto Vacuum Food fresh storage device

Mike Adams, the Health Ranger
See article keywords and concepts
But my simple balloon test revealed there was plenty of air inside the Auto Vacuum Food fresh device. The pump, it seems, isn't very strong. Yes, it removes a little bit of air from inside, but nowhere near all of it. Certainly not enough to consider it a complete vacuum. This made me wonder what the effect would be on storing foods. So I left the grapefruit inside the chamber and waited a few days. You can read the rest of this review, complete with photographs showing the problems with the device, by visiting http://www.newstarget.com/PhotoTour_Food_Fresh_1.

Consumer alert: Popular air fresheners found to contain toxic chemical

Mike Adams, the Health Ranger
See article keywords and concepts
It's why fresh produce sold at grocery stores sometimes tastes like soap, or why water sold in cheap plastic jugs easily soaks up fragrance chemicals and tastes like Bounce dryer sheets. Any food item you buy from a retailer that sells toxic cleaning products is, itself, slightly toxic. Right now, nobody is talking about this. This risk of chemical cross-contamination hasn't even been admitted to by mainstream scientists, the FDA, the EPA or any government agency.

Review: Auto Vacuum Food fresh storage device

For this review, I purchased an "Auto Vacuum Food Fresh" machine and set it up on my kitchen counter. I placed some grapefruit inside the unit, plugged it into the wall and closed the lid to see what would happen. A small pump began operating, apparently removing air from inside the unit. After a minute or two, the pump stopped automatically and the lid was, indeed, somewhat sealed. To test the seal, I opened the lid and heard the sound of air rushing back into the container. This was an indication that some air had actually been removed by the pump.

New research shows vitamin D slashes risk of cancers by 77 percent; cancer industry refuses to support cancer prevention

I soak up the sun's rays for many hours each week, and I never get a sun burn because I eat lots of antioxidant-rich superfoods, berries and fresh produce. I drink a raw superfood smoothie each morning, made of fresh produce and superfoods. My two favorite recipes are chocolate (with raw cacao, coconut oil or macadamia nut oil, raw avocado, spirulina, quinoa, banana and almond milk) and super berry (fresh berries, freeze-dried berries, egg white protein, stevia, aloe vera gel, fresh cucumber or watermelon, celery).

Processed Meat Unsafe For Human Consumption; Cancer Experts Warn of Dietary Dangers

But I've since learned that many people really don't know the difference between processed meat and non-processed meat ("fresh" meat). Here's the difference: Fresh meat usually has only one ingredient: The meat! fresh meat is refrigerated and has a very short shelf life (just a few days, usually). It's usually packaged in simple wrappers, with no fancy logos or color printing. Processed meat has many ingredients and is usually packaged for long-term shelf life.

The Big Fat Health and Fitness Lie

I set up my coffee maker every night so the fresh, hot coffee is waiting for me when I wake up. I love the flavor of coffee with freshly steamed, organic milk, so I went out of my way to purchase a coffee maker that has a built-in steamer. I steam the milk until it is hot and frothy and I pour the coffee and steamed milk into a huge mug. I add a little organic or raw sugar and I sprinkle on some cinnamon and, voila: fresh, hot Cafe au lait with my morning paper. It may not sound like much, but that little routine has me looking forward to every new day.

Fresh mint is better than dried mint. fresh peaches are far more delicious than canned peaches, and fresh aloe vera is superior to dried aloe, even low-temperature dried aloe. So if you can grow it, I encourage you to do that first. If you can't, then get the gel powder. It's my top choice for an aloe vera supplement. Resources: Good Cause Wellness: www.GoodCauseWellness.
Aloe vera rapidly oxidizes when exposed to the air, and the liquids seem to possess a biting taste that simply isn't present in fresh aloe vera gel. What's great about this new dried aloe vera gel from Good Cause Wellness (www.GoodCauseWellness.com) is that it's the best-tasting aloe vera gel I've tried yet. It's still not as good as fresh aloe vera gel (fresh is always the best), but growing your own aloe vera is only possible if you live in a climate that does not freeze.

FDA announces suspension of English language (humor)

Tomorrow, the FDA could announce that "pasteurization" will suddenly mean jumping up and down barefoot on fresh produce with your tongue stuck frozen to a chilled flagpole, in which case all the food companies in the United States would suddenly have to comply. But for today, pasteurization has been announced by the FDA to mean the bombarding of food matter with high energy radiation. If this all seems rather extraneous, that's because it is. Pasteurization could just as easily be declared next week to be the soaking of fresh produce in moose drool.

Processed Meat Unsafe For Human Consumption; Cancer Experts Warn of Dietary Dangers

Essentially, dead meat products look and taste dead (because they are), so meat companies use the following three ingredients to make them look fresh and taste interesting: Sodium nitrite makes the meat look red and fresh. (But it promotes cancer.) MSG makes the meat taste savory. (But it causes neurological disorders.) Processed salt makes the meat taste more interesting. (But it causes nutritional problems and high blood pressure.
Hint: You will only find nitrite-free meat products in two places in the grocery store: 1) In the fresh meat section where you can buy freshly-ground hamburger, for example, and 2) In the freezer, where you can find "natural" meat products that are nitrite-free. What are the dangerous chemicals in processed meats? Sodium nitrite is one of the most dangerous chemicals added to processed meats. Please be aware: You MUST read the ingredients list to find the sodium nitrite! Meat product companies do not list this ingredient on the front of the package.

Of course, the idea of drinking lots of fresh juice is not exactly new either. The Max Gerson Institute (www.Gerson.org) has been promoting juicing for decades. I strongly support the Gerson Institute, by the way. Those folks know what they're doing. Their protocol really does reverse many cancers. The Hippocrates Institute (http://www.hippocratesinst.com), headed by Dr. Brian Clement, is also a wonderful place to enjoy the healing properties of fresh juice. They've really mastered the art of sprout growing, wheat grass juicing and much more.

You certainly don't lose weight by eating pizza, ice cream and burgers. You do it by eating fresh produce and avoiding processed foods and animal products. The title of this article is completely nonsensical to begin with: "Bad foods that are actually great for your waist." How can foods that are bad somehow magically be great for your waist?

It has been reported that fresh apples have potent antioxidant activity; and whole apple extracts inhibit the growth of colon and liver cancer cells in vitro in a dose-dependent manner (Eberhardt et al, 2000), suggesting that natural phytochemicals in fresh fruits could be more effective than a dietary supplement. Apples are commonly consumed and are the major contributors of phytochemicals in human diets. Apple extracts exhibit strong antioxidant and antiproliferative activities and the major part of total antioxidant activity is from the combination of phytochemicals.

One good thing about the Fruit Flush Diet is that it tastes great! Nearly everyone enjoys eating fresh fruit, so it's a far more enjoyable diet than, say, the Atkins or low-carb diets.

The top five cancer-causing foods

This carcinogen is added to processed meats, hot dogs, bacon, and any other meat that needs a reddish color to look "fresh." Decades ago when meats were preserved, it was done with salt. But in the mid 20th century, food manufacturers started using sodium nitrite in commercial preservation. This chemical is responsible for the pinkish color in meat to which consumers have grown accustomed. Although today the use of refrigeration is largely what protects consumers from botulism and bacteria, manufacturers still add sodium nitrite to make the meat look pinkish and fresh.
