In reality, the federal drug program has turned into a national nightmare that has left hundreds of thousands of low-income seniors without prescriptions, and States actually owing the federal government hundreds of millions of dollars as payment for the fiasco.
Five states have had enough: California, Texas, Kentucky, New Jersey and Missouri. They're suing to block the federal government from billing them for the drugs that would have cost them even less under the old system!
The magnitude of hilariousness in all this is practically indescribable. |
| The federal government then receives payment from California and wastes more time and money processing that (another $25, perhaps). Total cost of the prescription is now $150.
So from this $1 drug, there's a total of $150 in charges billed to taxpayers. Here's how it breaks down:
California spent $75 on the drug and paperwork. All taxpayer dollars.
The federal government spent $75 on the paperwork. Also taxpayer dollars.
The drug company, which manufactured the drug for $1 and sold it for $20 walks away with roughly a 2,000% profit. |
| They're suing to block the federal government from billing them for the drugs that would have cost them even less under the old system!
The magnitude of hilariousness in all this is practically indescribable. I may need my own dose of meds just to stop laughing and catch my breath. First, we have the issue that hardly any of these prescription drugs are helping people in the first place, so the whole basis of this "benefit" is medical fraud to begin with. |
| It doesn't benefit the federal government. It just creates more overhead and headaches.
It doesn't benefit patients. Hundreds of thousands are left without prescriptions.
It DOES benefit Big Pharma. Drug companies get paid exorbitant prices for their cheap-to-manufacture drugs, all paid for by taxpayer dollars, with no volume discounts.
The only group that benefits from the Bush drug benefit program is Big Pharma. Which, of course, was the whole point all along. Just another Bush handout to his campaign financiers.
Americans have been conned yet again
The con is on you, the U.S. taxpayer. |
| Next, we have the Bush / Big Pharma conspiracy, whereby the government's drug benefit program actually made it illegal for the federal government to negotiate volume discounts with drug companies. Just another Big Pharma handout? You bet.
And finally, we have the fact that the taxpayers are footing the bill for everything.
Tracking the flow of money, waste and fraud
Let's track the flow of money for prescription drugs, shall we? These numbers are just rough estimates, and this description is greatly simplified, but it gives you an idea of how the system works.

| All taxpayer dollars.
The federal government spent $75 on the paperwork. Also taxpayer dollars.
The drug company, which manufactured the drug for $1 and sold it for $20 walks away with roughly a 2,000% profit. (In reality, many drugs are sold at markups more like 35,000%.)
Beyond all this, the patient probably spent at least another ten hours signing up for the drug benefit program, which contains rules and requirements of such complexity that even IRS auditors were shaking their heads in frustration. |

Responding to this newfound threat to public health, the federal government mandated that white flour be fortified with a bare minimum of eight essential vitamins and minerals-the very ones that steel-roller milling removed. To avoid a public relations nightmare, the new flour was called
"enriched white flour," marketing-speak for "stuff so lethal that the federal government made us put some other stuff in it so it won't kill you as quickly." That 1920s mandate made white flour "safe" again. We loved our white flour so much that we wanted it at any cost. |

Why does the federal government want people to remain ignorant of methods for preventing or treating cancer?
You probably already know the answer to all these questions, because the answer is the same for each one: Corporate profits. Cancer is hugely profitable to treat. Substantially preventing cancer would result in a loss of billions of dollars in profits for the oncologists, drug companies, hospitals and clinics that currently prey upon the finances of cancer victims. |

Constitution specifically said that all powers NOT granted to the federal government are reserved to the people (the States). But look around you. Do you see a government that feels it owes its power to the people? Do you see a government that humbly serves the people, or that keeps its hands off powers not directly granted to it by the Constitution? Not a chance. Our government RULES the people. It has take the power granted to it by the U.S. Constitution and expanded it into an empire that now rules over the very people it was supposed to serve. |

We were told again and again that the FDA had the unlimited resources of the federal government at its disposal, and that an organization with fewer than 5,000 members had no chance of winning an all-out war with them.
To further terrorize the Life Extension Foundation and its founders, the FDA, with the help of various corrupt law enforcement bodies, filed 56 criminal charges against Foundation officers Saul Kent and William Faloon. After an 11-year reign of terror in which the FDA spent millions of taxpayer dollars attempting to prosecute them, Kent and Faloon prevailed. |

To the best of my knowledge, the federal government has not enforced this, or if they have, they have been very quiet about it. There have been a couple of ISPs that have filed lawsuits against a couple hundred of the most egregious spammers. As far as the federal government enforcing their law, they haven't done it. Until they do, we aren't going to see much change. We need to loudly insist that the act be enforced and some money be put behind enforcing it. Right now, you're right; the medium is under assault. |

The revocation of States' rights
That States have passed laws requiring warning labels of dangerous food ingredients is an unacceptable encroachment into regulatory territory clearly reserved for the United States federal government. States are out of bounds in seeking such regulatory power, as it has not been granted to them by the federal government, the source of all power and rights in the United States of America. |

But this bill doesn't merely target terrorism: It targets anyone who speaks or even thinks thoughts against the U.S. federal government.
With this bill, the U.S. government is officially labeling the People of the United States as criminals. It is drawing a line in the sand and stating that from now on, it's the Government vs. the People.
If we don't stop this bill from becoming law, we are lost as a nation.
There is no turning back from tyranny once the government turns its own citizens into criminals, enforcing only the thoughts, ideas, words and speeches that it approves or tolerates. |

Food and Drug Administration has found perchlorate contamination in nearly all of the more than 200 samples of lettuce and milk it collected and tested nationwide. The federal government has not yet established a standard for the perchlorate, but the Environmental Protection Agency has adopted a provisional recommendation that contamination in drinking water not exceed a range of 4 to 18 parts per billion. Perchlorate, a chemical used in rocket fuel, munitions and fireworks, can affect thyroid gland functions and lead to developmental difficulties in children. |
| In March of 2004, the U.S. federal government issued an unusually detailed alert to the nation's 5.5 million health care workers: The powerful drugs used in chemotherapy can themselves cause cancer and pose a risk to nurses, pharmacists and others who handle them. Four years in the making, the alert was issued by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH).
Chemotherapy ?the use of potent drugs to kill cancerous cells ?is more than 60 years old. The first such drugs were nitrogen mustards, originally developed as chemical warfare agents. |

They say it is not only good fiscal policy for the federal government, but it also creates generous profits for the pharmaceutical companies. That last part of it is certainly true: Big Pharma makes billions treating disease symptoms caused by toxic food ingredients.
But I don't think our federal government has the single-minded focus necessary to have an organized campaign of early deaths just to save public funds. However, there's no denying the financial cause and effect of longevity versus dying shortly after retirement. |

If you would like to fund the federal government with more dollars, you can simply choose to spend more.
And of course, wealthy people tend to spend a lot more money than lower-income people, meaning that it is the wealthy people who will be spending more money and paying more taxes to the federal government, just as it should be in a fair and just society.
And yet, even wealthy people will have the freedom to choose how much tax they wish to pay. |

Balance Is the Goal
When I was a young teenager, the federal government decided to take most of the silver out of our coins. Instantly, all the old coins, which were solid silver, were worth much more than the new coins the government was minting. Many individuals and businesses began buying up these solid silver coins and, of course, we teens gathered up as many solid silver coins as we could find too.
I was especially in luck. My dad owned a Dairy Queen, and he brought home a pile of coins each night that I would have to roll up in paper rolls. |

Therefore, in order to halt the decentralization of federal power, this Congress shall send a message to state-level regulatory authorities that their attempts to seize regulatory powers from the federal government shall not be tolerated.
With the passage of this Food Ignorance Act, the Tenth Amendment of the Bill of Rights shall also be deemed null and void.

With one stroke of the pen, Walker says, the federal government increased existing Medicare obligations nearly 40 percent over the next 75 years. "We'd have to have eight trillion dollars today, invested in treasury rates, to deliver on that promise," Walker explains. Asked how much we actually have, Walker says, "Zip." In addition to the financial fiasco, the plan forces millions of older Americans to accept inferior drug coverage. All the government does is to borrow money to pay for what it cannot afford to pay. |

That local municipalities have to take matters into their hands because the federal government, with its vast resources, research and information, fails to act is a glaring example that our government is not truly committed to enhancing our health. During my research, I stumbled across the Web site www.BanTransFats.com, and I got in touch with the founder and president Stephen L. Joseph, who provided information on this subject. If you want to know more about this important issue, visit this Web site.

We know that the federal government will not help. Drug companies are reluctant to step in because of patent issues—and because each of these diseases, taken individually, does not afflict a large enough number of patients. We go month to month hoping that something will happen with funding that will allow us to keep going. |
| The federal government deemed it prudent to vaccinate all Americans. In October 1976, the National Influenza Immunization Program officially began. Initially, nearly 1 million Americans were vaccinated each week, with the number growing to more than 4 million a week by the end of that first month. By the middle of November, 6 million Americans were being vaccinated each week. From the very start of the campaign, the National Influenza Immunization Program ran a well-organized surveillance system, monitoring for adverse side effects. |

That's about the same amount the nation spent on the first two and half years of its military venture in Iraq, and fully twice as much as the federal government allocates annually for all research and development—including R&D for defense and national security.1
But here is the truly shocking statistic: nearly all of that money is devoted to treating symptoms. It pays for cardiac drugs, for clot-dissolving medications, and for costly mechanical techniques that bypass clogged arteries or widen them with balloons, tiny rotating knives, lasers, and stents. |

Just about everybody's either financially strained or going broke due to spiraling health care costs: the people, the employers, state governments and even the federal government. Multinational corporations are fleeing the United States due to health care costs, taking jobs and economic productivity with them. Meanwhile, 50 percent of personal bankruptcies in the U.S. are due to medical expenses.
But not everybody's doing badly. |

A survey conducted by the federal government established that they were much sicker than Canadian soldiers who had fought in Europe, and, as a result, they were given special pensions. After the war, they suffered to an exaggerated degree from all the diseases of aging, including arthritis, blindness, heart disease, neurological deterioration, and depression. Dr Hoffer estimated that one year in a Japanese POW camp aged these soldiers about 5 years, as compared to a normal year living at home. |

Accordingly, consider yourself fortunate to be among the very few people who are aware of what's really going on in our federal government. As Americans, we currently live under a system of medical tyranny. It is a system that insists on continuing disease among the population so that politically influential corporations can profit from disease, generation after generation. All cures are outlawed. Anything that actually works to prevent disease is censored. Medical pioneers who open clinics to cure cancer are arrested or run out of the country. |
