Amazingly, the same family has worked this land for more than 750 years. The farmhouse was an impressive Catalan masia, looking like a small fortress, complete with a tower. I was totally blown away and forgot all about physics.
The dinner was served in a spacious hall, where the Garriga family had gathered. As a guest of honor, I was seated next to Jaume's father, who enchanted us with tales of the ancient history of the land and made sure that my wineglass was never empty. |

 In my opinion, this is unethical unless a veterinarian has training in pet nutrition. Our family physician doesn't display weight loss products in the reception room. Our family doctor doesn't sell food that may stop kidney disease or aid in the treatment of diabetes. So why is this going on in veterinary clinics that do not specialize in nutrition?
Most veterinarians acquire their only knowledge on pet nutrition in elective classes in veterinary school. These classes may only last a few weeks and are often taught by representatives from pet food companies. |

 In general, I am opposed to Senate bill S1082: Food and Drug Administration Revitalization Act, as it does not go far enough to protect myself and my family from the dangers of drugs. As one of the 150 million Americans that rely on dietary supplements to keep myself and my family well, I am especially concerned that this legislation broadens FDA regulatory power to harass functional foods and dietary supplements - which has nothing whatsoever to do with drug safety.
It is vital that the terms "food" and "food ingredients" be removed from this legislation. |

 Is it justified to outlaw the practice of medical tourism, and force that family to skip that surgical procedure because they don't have the money to pay for it here in the United States? Maybe that family only has $10,000. Well, that means they could probably afford that procedure somewhere else. Shouldn't they have the right to make that choice and go where they want?
These are some interesting arguments that will come up. And I think it's very dangerous for any government to start telling its citizens where they can travel and for what reasons they can travel. |

 That's not true either -- I've lost two close family members to lung cancer. I know what it's like to be around smokers and to lose loved ones to nicotine, and it's not that I would have wanted to punish those family members by denying them healthcare, it's that I would have wanted to talk to them 40 years ago, before they ever started smoking and said, hey, you have a choice. |

| The father related a most incredible story: Soon after starting Accutane, his son told the family that the deceased rocker Jim Morrison was talking to him through monkeys and telling him to commit suicide on April 15, 2004. When the boy finished relating the story, his parents checked him into a locked psychiatric facility on April 14, 2004, a sound decision in my professional opinion. After he stopped taking Accutane his psychosis and suicidal thinking stopped, and he continues to be free of symptoms to this day. |
