The press headlines simply call it a 'Cure for diabetes' thereby misleading type 2 diabetics while providing very limited information to type 1 diabetics.
We don't need cures for these diseases as much as we need to start preventing them, because type 1 and type 2 diabetes are both preventable... almost universally so. And prevention is free, by the way. It doesn't require expenditures for prescription drugs, it doesn't require regular visits to the doctor's office, and it doesn't require a lifetime of insulin injections. |

This makes it the ideal juice for diabetics, as it also helps reduce atherosclerosis risks in diabetics. Read Pomegranate Juice Could Benefit diabetics for more details.
This is also a good reason to go with the higher-quality pomegranate juices mentioned here rather than low-quality juice blends made with apple juice or grape juice (both of which are high on the glycemic index scale). Pure pomegranate juice is far better for your blood sugar than a blend of apple juice or grape juice. |

And as usual, the news has some diabetics thinking, 'Gee, I won't have to stop eating sugar, drinking soft drinks or avoiding ice cream now! The scientists are going to have a cure for diabetes.' And that is one way in which the mainstream media dangerously misleads the American public.
In reality, these headlines are talking about type 1 diabetes, the type that is increasingly rare in proportion to the number of people suffering from adult-onset type 2 diabetes. There is no cure for type 2 diabetes, because type 2 diabetes isn't technically a disease. |

The other 90 percent of diabetics are called type II, non-insulin-dependent, or adult-onset diabetics. Type II diabetes usually begins in the adult years and progresses more slowly. Although genetic factors contribute to a person's risk for developing type II diabetes, lifestyle factors, such as being overweight, consuming a poor diet, and lack of exercise are also important. Type II diabetics often secrete adequate amounts of insulin, but their cells are not sufficiently sensitive to the hormone. |
| Type I diabetics, who account for only ten percent of the diabetes population, usually have reduced numbers of active beta cells in the pancreas; those are the cells responsible for the production and secretion of insulin. The person with type I diabetes must inject insulin and balance the entry of insulin into the blood with food intake to maintain normal use of sugar.

Caution: With regular drinking of aloe vera juice, diabetics may improve the ability of their pancreas to produce more of its own insulin. Therefore, diabetics should consult their physician to monitor their need for extra insulin, since too much insulin is dangerous. Many diabetics report a reduction in the amount of insulin required. Make certain you purchase only undiluted aloe vera juice.
7. Small enema treatments (in comparison to colonics or cole-mas) involve the introduction of liquids into the rectum (usually, that is as far as they reach) for the purpose of cleansing and nourishment. |

WARNING SIGN
When their blood sugar is out of control, diabetics may have a distinctive breath odor that smells like alcohol. Because low blood sugar can cause diabetics to stagger, they may be mistaken for being drunk and not receive the immediate medical help they need.
GARLIC BREATH
Does your mouth smell like garlic even when you haven't eaten any? If so, it may be a sign of selenium toxicity (aka selenosis). While an important antioxidant, selenium should not be taken in very large doses. |

Ninety percent of diabetics are type 2. Contributing factors to the development of this disorder include obesity, genetic predisposition, environmental conditions, nutritional deficiencies, viral infections, and certain chemical exposures that create autoimmunity. In the long-term, diabetics have a greater risk of developing heart disease, of developing kidney disease, of strokes, and of loss of nerve function. Circulation can become a severe problem, leading to various problems in the feet and legs, including a greater risk of gangrene as a result of a foot injury. |

For example, did you ever look at the ingredients on those meal replacement shakes for diabetics? The first three ingredients are water, sugar and sugar (sucrose)! It's primarily sugar water, sold as a product for diabetics. With products like this on the shelves, even people who think they're enhancing their nutrition actually end up with a lifelong diabetes problem. (Sugar for diabetics... gee, can it get any crazier?)
On top of all this, virtually every grocery store in America sells a vast array of foods that promote chronic diseases. Foods made with white flour are very common. |

We put in lipoic acid -- and lipoic acid is a classic nutrient they use for treating diabetics at higher doses -- and that is one of the ways. I mean, it certainly is a heavy metal chelator -- diabetics have heavy metals for sure built up in the body -- and it is a tremendous antioxidant. It is in that metabolic pathway that is crucial. We put those three things in there to give the body a chance to take those sugars, and to do something with them in order to make the energy that is needed to function in the body. |

Diabetes is well on its way to becoming normalized in the West—recognized as a whole new demographic and so a major marketing opportunity. |

Children are most often diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when temperatures start to drop in late fall.

Also, because ribose has the effect of actually lowering blood glucose levels, I suggest that insulin-dependent diabetics check with their physicians before starting ribose treatment. Again, this recommendation is not made because of any adverse effect of ribose in this group, it is simply to be sure that insulin-dependent diabetics have their blood glucose carefully monitored so they do not accidentally overdose insulin while they are on ribose.
Reported side effects are minimal and infrequent. |

And for thousands of years, observers have noticed that diabetics' urine smells (and tastes) particularly sweet. In the past Chinese physicians actually diagnosed and monitored diabetes by looking to see whether ants were attracted to someone's urine. In diabetics, the process through which insulin helps the body use glucose is broken, and the sugar in the blood builds up to dangerously high levels. Unmanaged, these abnormal blood sugar levels can lead to rapid dehydration, coma, and death. |

If we are going to make any significant headway in decreasing the number of diabetics, as well as help current diabetics improve control of their disease, two things have to happen. First, we need to pay more attention to insulin resistance, the underlying problem in the overwhelming majority of cases of type 2 diabetes mellitus, and not simply focus on treating blood sugar levels (see box). Second, we need to aggressively encourage lifestyle changes that will improve insulin sensitivity. I strongly believe that in type 2 diabetes mellitus, physicians should rely on medication as a last resort. |

This compound is beneficial for both diabetics and hypoglycemics. GTF contains chromium, which is frequently reduced in the plasma of patients with sugar cravings. Inositol may also quell carbohydrate cravings. All diabetics must follow a strict diet that eliminates foods with high sugar content. This diet should be discussed with your own physician.
Type 2 diabetics become insulin resistant, and as they age they lose their growth hormone (with advancing years all of our hormone production slows down). |

It is estimated that up to 15 percent of people with diabetes have a major depressive disorder and that 25 percent of diabetics experience depressive symptoms at some point. It's also been shown that depression significantly reduces the quality of life of people who have type 2 diabetes.
Many people who are newly diagnosed with diabetes go through a mourning process not unlike that experienced by people who lose a loved one. The stages of mourning include denial, anger, depression, and acceptance. |

This fact, combined with the fact that the American Diabetes Association continues to recommend things like ice cream to diabetics (as long as they regulate their blood sugar with medication!), shows you just how important it is for corporate America to keep the American population just sick enough to need medication, but not so sick that they all keel over and die. |
