Forcing customers to upgrade their movie collections to new media formats is a great revenue model for the movie studios because they have opportunities to sell the same content to viewers over and over again. As a consumer, I don't want to be caught in that. I think that if you buy a movie once, you should be able to view it on different devices. You are still the only person that has possession of that content, and as long as you don't pirate that content and sell it or give it to friends, it's fine. |

Researchers now believe that the high antioxidant content of the plasma or blood does not allow for this change to occur in the artery. In the subendothelial space the surrounding cells offer significantly less antioxidant protection. If the vitamin E content of the native LDL cholesterol is high, it is protected from becoming oxidized even if it passes into the subendothelial space.
Remember, the monocyte white cells pick up and drop off native LDL cholesterol so buildup doesn't occur. |

Hilarious Google ads
Our Photo Tours content rendering technology automatically places Google Adsense ads underneath the photos. Google chooses the content of these ads based on the text on the page. I found it hilarious seeing ads for "Kielbasa Sausage!" underneath pictures of some nasty-looking chunk of processed meat. Many of the ads that appeared were promoting organic beef and pork products, which also seemed a bit strange.
Some ads were for food additives like phosphates, and others promoted things like, "Meals for Seniors" which are, no doubt, probably made of processed meats. |

For instance, all of the failed studies did not clearly formulate the content of the healing intention, and left the content of the prayers up to the individual supplicant. Although Benson asked that the single phrase "for a successful surgery with a quick, healthy recovery and no complications" be included, he had not asked the supplicants to be specific. The most suecessful intention experiments incorporate a highly specific target into the intention. |

This strong taste indicates a high content of volatile oils and highly medicinal qualities such as antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, expectorant, and carminative (antispasmodic and gas relieving in the digestive tract), to list a few.
The final taste to consider is a salty flavor, which indicates there are minerals in the plant that give it a nutritive quality. Sometimes you can actually taste the mineral. For example, high iron content makes your teeth feel funny while the taste of chalk indicates calcium. |

Health experts warn against pregnant women eating certain types of fish -- such as tuna -- due to latent mercury content.
The health benefits of fish consumption are believed to be due to the omega-3 fatty acid content of oily fish.
Quote: "This idea of fish being toxic has been around for a long time but this study seems to be saying that is a minor problem compared with the benefits you get from fish. |

Unfortunately, economics is the driving force behind American agriculture, causing farmers to be more concerned about bushels per acre than the nutrient content of the food they harvest.
Few would argue about the quality of our foods and its decline compared to foods of a generation or two ago. Hybrid grains, vegetables, and fruits have increased in popularity. These hybrid seeds boast big, luscious products that are more resistant to diseases. The nutrient content of hybrids, however, is significandy less than that of their natural counterparts. |

When they announce that "chocolate contains thus and so," we often have no idea whether they are measuring the contents of raw cacao beans, a processed bean or one particular variety, a low-grade candy bar, or a piece of premium couverture (chocolate confections with a high content of cacao butter in the coating). In fact, the literature about the actual composition of cacao reminds us of nothing so much as the tale of the blind men describing the elephant. |

Years ago people who went into medical research were content not to earn a lot of money," he said. "They were content to help mankind."
These days the academic-industrial partnerships are proliferating, he said, because they benefit all parties involved. Professors boost their salaries by tens of thousands of dollars or more. The university earns money from the clinical trials and does not have to pay its academics as much because of the fees they earn on the side. The drug companies get a potent form of promotion that generates vast sales. Everyone wins, he said, except patients. |

After a few months on niacin, her memory was partially restored and she was content.
Another case involved a young man who was struck on the head by a heavy object during an industrial accident. After 2 years, he was able to talk and to walk with a limp, but he had not regained his interest in reading. Before the accident he had been an avid reader. After 3 months on niacin, he regained some of this interest and became content with this improvement.
Apparently, niacin, by dilating the capillaries, accelerated healing and perhaps also increased the ability of the brain tissue to repair itself. |

Wild salmon, North Atlantic mackerel, sardines, flounder, sole, scallops, shrimp, pollack, red snapper, and tilapia are best because they all have a low mercury content. Avoid farmed salmon, which has a high PCB content, and high-mercury fish such as king mackerel, marlin, orange roughy, shark, swordfish, tilefish, and tuna. Essential fatty acids are also available in omega-3 rich eggs and flaxseed, as well as in supplement form. A growing number of studies show omega-3 to be beneficial in the prevention and management of Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and rheumatoid arthritis. |

REPPED: American consumers, it seems, are frequently warned about the mercury content of seafood. Even the FDA now warns pregnant women not to eat seafood due to its mercury content. But did you ever wonder about the health effects of all the mercury being put into the mouths of children and adults in the form of mercury fillings? (Dentists call them "silver fillings" to conceal the fact that they're made with about 40% mercury. |

That's usually a good thing for everyone else; it means freedom of information and decentralization of censorship and content control. And although there are some isolated cases of Wiki vandalism and spamming, they are extremely rare given the enormous collection of content covered by Wikipedia. That's why Wikipedia is really a milestone in the history of the internet and the history of free information, and that's exactly why it is under constant assault by the traditional institutions that influence public opinion in this country, such as the press, the White House, and large corporations. |

I also think the same should be true with books. If you bought a book at a bookstore and you want to read it on your laptop computer, I see nothing wrong with scanning the book, digitizing the pages and loading them on your computer so you can read it on the road. In fact, I've done this many times. |

They're both in the business of writing content, and they both must answer to the public when it comes to the accuracy of that content. When I see newspapers bashing Wikipedia over a lack of quality control, I have to hold up a mirror in front of the newspapers and say, "Look at what you do. How many journalists from the New York Times and other papers have been fired after being caught making up all the facts in their articles?" Some journalists, even well known ones, will simply invent interviews with fictional sources and use that as evidence to write their stories. |
| It may have a few local stories it actually wrote on its own, but a lot of the content in newspapers, even in larger papers, is just filler content that it gets as a subscriber to various newswire services. If you ever wonder why all the papers in the country happen to be talking about the same topic on the same day, it's not just because it happens to be a timely topic; it's because they've all tuned in to the same news feed from the same centralized sources. |

Here's a quick comparison of the glycotoxin content of some common foods. The AGE content of beef boiled for one hour is 22 kU/g, while broiling beef for fifteen minutes results in a value of 60 kU/g. It doesn't make much difference whether you broil or fry a chicken breast for fifteen minutes; you will end up with about the same amount of AGEs: 58 kU/g and 61 kU/g, respectively When it comes to tofu, the choice between raw (8 kU/g) and broiled (41 kU/g) is quite dramatic. At the other end of the scale are fresh fruits and vegetables, which barely make the charts (apples 0.13 kU/g, bananas 0. |
