He reported that during the night he woke up with a great pressure on his chest, a little man was sitting on his chest strangling him and he could not get his breath. He pinned his arms in front of him and tied his legs together. He knew at that moment that he was visited by an alien force. Let's put all that in its proper context; during birth there was a lack of oxygen and sense of strangling with the accompanying pressure on the chest. The arms were pinned in the fetal position and the legs were locked as they are in a birth Primal. |

The young man looked at me, and then his mother, put his hand to his chest and finally nodded his head. As Glenda reached forward, he unbuttoned his shirt, took her hand, and gently placed it against his naked chest. What happened next transcends our current view of the brain, body, heart and mind.
"Glenda's hand began to tremble, and tears rolled down her cheeks. She closed her eyes and whispered, 'I love you, David. Everything is copacetic' She removed her hand, hugged the young man to her chest, and all of us wiped tears from our eyes. |

Other early indicators of sarcoidosis may include fatigue, fever, chest pain, joint aches, and weight loss. These and other signs of sarcoidosis depend, in part, on the organ affected.
The course of this disease varies greatly among people: from mild to very serious, with or without flare-ups, and worsening or not. The signs can last a short time or for a year or more, or may even disappear. |

Since beta-blockers inhibit heart function, if your heart isn't working right, they can sometimes cause heart failure, which would be associated with fatigue, chest pain, or a sudden weight gain caused by water retention.
DRUGS THAT ACT ON THE ADRENERGIC RECEPTORS
Alpha-blockers, including doxazosin (Cardura), prazosin (Minipress), and terazosin (Hytrin), block the alpha noradrenergic receptor in the heart and blood vessels. A related drug, called labetalol (Normodyne), blocks both alpha and beta receptors. |
| This condition, called myocardial ischemia, can lead to chest pain and possible heart attack. Since vasodilators change blood flow to the brain as well as to the heart, they can be associated with neurological side effects, including dizziness, headache, blurred vision, nausea, rapid pulse, and light-headedness. Another side effect is postural hypotension with rising: If you sit up too quickly the blood doesn't get pumped to your brain right away and you can end up feeling dizzy and possibly fall or pass out. |

Keep your breathing pattern even, stay within the limits of your airways and avoid taking deep, fast breaths high in the chest. Do not over-exert yourself and possibly trigger an asthma attack.
Take your time to achieve any sustained breathing pattern. It may be two or three months before you can extend to a count out of ten or more. But as your fitness improves you will find that you will be able to walk for more than 15 minutes, even for several hours, without any breathing difficulties. Walk calm—walk tall. |

Nonallergic asthma is triggered by factors not related to allergens, such as upper respiratory infections, anxiety, stress, exercise, cold or dry air, hyperventilation, smoke, viruses, medications [aspirin, NSAIDs (see Chapter 2), beta-blockers, and ACE inhibitors (see Chapter 5)], sulfites found in red wine, and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). |

One controlled study showed that itopride, a dopamine D2 agonist, was superior to a placebo in improving symptoms of functional dyspepsia. |

X-rays: an experienced radiologist may be able to detect changes in the bronchi and bronchioles that are indicative of asthma, and chest X-rays will also rule out the possibility of another disease causing the symptoms. ţCT, or computerised tomography, scanning is being used more and more to diagnose asthma. Essentially it is a combination of X-ray and computer technology that means a three-dimensional picture can be built up of tissues of the body, particularly soft tissues such as lungs, which do not show up so well on X-rays. |

Many of us choose to pluck, shave, wax, burn, or otherwise remove unwanted hair from various parts of our bodies. Indeed, one of the latest crazes among some young women is shaving their pubic hair. CIRCULATORY SYSTEM
Heart
The circulatory system is made up of the heart and blood vessels. The heart is the pump for the blood in our body. It consists of four muscular chambers. Each chamber opening has a one-way valve to regulate the flow of blood in and out of the heart. Blood comes from the body into the right upper chamber known as the right atrium. |
| The person may even have had pains in the chest and arms, or difficulty breathing. These are all signs the body gives to warn that serious problems lie ahead if corrective action is not taken.
When the body's warning signals are ignored, at some point one of two things happens. Either health degenerates to a point where the body is unable to reverse it and return to health, or the person decides to change lifestyles, and work with the body using nature's way to regain health and vitality. Figure 4.1 illustrates this process. |
