When cancer patients finally make that decision to embrace alternative medicine, they often do so in a near-death state because they have been so utterly harmed by the treatments espoused by conventional, Western medicine. Then, even more frustratingly, they begin to take a few herbs or experience some kind of alternative treatment and end up dying from organ failure caused by the toxic chemotherapy given to them by their conventional medical doctors. | Are conventional and alternative cancer treatments the only alternatives?
As I wrote this book it was taking me somewhere I didn't plan to go- to steering patients away from doctoring, or at least away from life-threatening cancer care. To do that, something else has to be substituted, something beyond the bogus or inappropriate cures offered by alternative medicine. Nutritional medicine can be that cure. Though often relegated to preventing weight loss (wasting) during the progression of cancer, it has now been found that certain foods, spices and herbs can switch cancer genes off. |

| Standard cancer treatments may lower the number of cancer cells to an undetectable level, but this certainly cannot eradicate all cancer cells. As the long the causes of tumor growth remain intact, it may me redevelop at any time and at any rate.
Curing cancer has little to do with getting rid of a group of detectable cancer cells. Treatments like chemotherapy and radiation are certainly capable of poisoning or burning many cancer cells, but they also destroy healthy cells in the bone marrow, gastro-intestinal tract, liver, kidneys, heart, lungs, etc. |

| THE STUDY
The study revisited information on 42,000 women who had participated in 78 randomized trials around the world comparing different breast cancer treatments. The analysis was conducted by the Early Breast Cancer Trialists' Collaborative Group.
The risk of having a local recurrence was 7% for women who had radiation versus 26% for women who did not. All of the women had first had breast-conserving surgery.
At the 15-year mark, 30.5% of the women who had had radiation died versus 35.9% of the women who had not undergone radiation. |
| Experimental cancer treatments are more beneficial than previously thought.
Recent study: Approximately 11%—and in some cases, 27%—of the patients in Phase 1 cancer trials responded positively. Previous reviews showed that only 4% to 6% benefited.

Chemotherapy harms the immune system and impairs organs such as the brain, liver, and the heart. It's sort of like using TNT to blow out the water leaking through the dam.
