Plants enhance brain function; drugs destroy brain function. Plants are naturally compatible with human biology; drugs are naturally toxic to human biology. Plants need no slick marketing; drugs require slick marketing. Plants were put here by God and Mother Nature; drugs were put here by greedy, criminal-minded drug company personnel who profit from your disease.

The agency was so thrilled by the performance of the drug that they not only approved it, they MANDATED its use on anyone with poor brain function. A massive shipment of the skin patches are now on their way to the U.S. Senate, House of Representatives and the White House where it is hoped that the drug-laced skin patches will either restore normal brain function or remove some politicians from office due to toxic side effects.

You can lose some of your brain function if you don't exercise sufficiently and eat properly," Dr. Convit concludes. "What our grandmothers and our mothers have been telling us for a long time is true—exercise, eat well, and don't get heavy. Couch potatoes may now have a new incentive to exercise and get their weight down."
A team of Canadian researchers from the University of Ottawa led by psychology professor Claude Messier, Ph.D., has made similar findings concerning the link between blood sugar and brain function. |

The keys to your brain function are the chemical messengers of mind and mood called neurotransmitters. As they travel around your brain and nervous system, they help determine how you feel.

Here's the important part: we can influence our brain function by supplying the right nutrients to make our brain cells and neurotransmitters work at their peak.
While there are hundreds of neurotransmitters, the following are the main players:
GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) is the "cool" neurotransmitter, relaxing you and calming you down after stress. |

Dietary acid-base balance can affect favorably or unfavorably the levels of hormones in the brain that work alone and together with vitamin D to direct brain development and brain function.
?Cheese and refined grains promote inflammation that may overwhelm brain protective mechanisms, causing degenerative neurological disease. Conversely, fresh green produce and lean meat that's high in omega-3 fats suppress inflammation and protect brain function.
Here's how a lack of vitamin D leads to development of certain diseases. |

It's interesting that people who eat beef skip all the parts of the animal that would enhance their own brain function, isn't it? A lack of dietary DHA promotes heart disease, Alzheimer's, dementia and poor cognitive function. Poor cognitive function (i.e. a poorly performing brain) causes people to make poor decisions about diet, such as eating more beef. And so the cycle continues. |

Some might call it a raw foods diet, or a raw food vegan diet. I think those terms can freak people out. I don't consider myself a vegan, since I sometimes eat cooked fish. And I don't consider myself a full-time raw foodist, since I eat one cooked meal a day. But I believe whole-heartedly in the benefits of raw, living foods, and I totally support the philosophy and practice of veganism. |

The effect would be water intoxication, a potentially fatal disturbance in brain function that results when the normal balance of electrolytes in the body is pushed outside of safe limits by a very rapid intake of water. The transition from a state of severe dehydration to improved hydration should be very gradual and is best monitored by a health practitioner who knows the basics of water metabolism.
Guidelines for Gradual Rehydration

Laughter is powerful medicine. It is perhaps the best medicine of all for countering the effects of chronic stress (which is devastating to the immune system). Laughter literally alters your body's physical response to stress, including emotional stress and environmental stress. With enough laughter and the right nutrition, you can enhance your body's response to virtually any health challenge. |

Omega-3 fatty acids provide a long list of benefits; for example, they decrease risk factors for cardiovascular disease, such as high triglyceride and LDL cholesterol levels; they improve brain function and concentration, boost energy production, enhance mood, improve blood pressure, reduce cancer risk, and help reduce fat production. The fats that you need to avoid are the following:
?trans fats, which can be identified on food ingredient lists as partially hydrogenated oil, shortening, or hard margarine. |

Processed sugar: Sugar greatly impacts the healthy functioning of the nervous system, and refined sugar is a lot like crack in the way it alters (and impairs) brain function. All refined sugars should be avoided, including high-fructose corn syrup (the sweetener in sodas), dextrose, sucrose and others. While you're at it, avoid white bread and refined grains, too, because they're very similar to sugars in the way they impact the nervous system.
Aspartame: This artificial chemical sweetener greatly impairs healthy nervous system function. |

If you interfere with that, you interfere with brain function.' But establishing whether this is the case, and then the exact nature of each additive's contribution, will be difficult and could take decades.
Research studies into the effects of dietary factors on brain function are few and far between (in a world financed mainly by commerce, it can be difficult for scientists to access funding), and the food industry is quick to find fault with them. |

Wolfe: Yeah, I think what's happening to anybody who's reading this right now -- you are searching for real information because you know you have been sold a few lies. This is important because it is further evidence for our belief that some people experience severe fatigue due to some aberrancy of brain function.
Because some of our patients undergoing deep fibromuscular massage said they felt better overall and had less pain, my colleague, an expert in physical medicine, hypothesized that the treatment might improve the balance of CFS and FM patients. So he and another colleague, who was an expert in clinical research, tested patients' balance before and after they completed their course of massage treatment. |
| If so, it may have led to improved brain function, and that may have brought about improvements both in balance and the patients' overall feeling u c

In contrast, regular planned intake of fiber-rich, nutrient-rich foods balance your brain function and encourage the feelings of energy and control that ensure good food choices.
Obviously the emotional vulnerability that can result from less than optimum nutrient intake makes you far less likely to stick to your resolve and far more likely to munch a candy bar, down a coffee or grab any junk food that will instantly boost your blood sugar and "restore" your equilibrium. But the price of these "boosts" is increasing calories and increasing fat storage and ultimately a fatter body. |

The concept of plasticity is fundamental to understanding how the brain works and how exercise optimizes brain function by fostering that quality. Everything we do and think and feel is governed by how our brain cells, or neurons, connect to one another. What most people think of as psychological makeup is rooted in the biology of these connections. Likewise, our thoughts and behavior and environment reflect back on our neurons, influencing the pattern of connections. Far from being hardwired, as scientists once envisioned it, the brain is constantly being rewired. |
| But the real reason we feel so good when we get our blood pumping is that it makes the brain function at its best, and in my view, this benefit of physical activity is far more important — and fascinating—than what it does for the body. Building muscles and conditioning the heart and lungs are essentially side effects. I often tell my patients that the point of exercise is to build and condition the brain.
In today's technology-driven, plasma-screened-in world, it's easy to forget that we are born movers — animals, in fact—because we've engineered movement right out of our lives. |

The truth is doctors are easily influenced by commercial interests and can be readily convinced to recommend practically any product, no matter how toxic, unhealthy or deadly to consumers. PS has been available as a supplement for decades and has been shown in well-documented studies to restore brain function. | There is currently no agreed-upon cure for autism, but there are a bunch of studies that show B6 can play a helpful role in reducing some of the symptoms, which suggests that our kids are probably also deficient in many nutrients that affect brain function. Some studies suggest that there is a subgroup of autistic children who actually do improve with vitamin B6 supplementation. The children in the studies usually took between 3.5 mg and almost 100 mg of B6 per day (for every 2.2 pounds of body weight). |
| Stress hormones wreak havoc with virtually every metabolic process, influencing everything from weight to brain function. And acupuncture really shines when it comes to reducing stress.
"If energy is stagnated or out of balance in certain meridians or organs it can result in stress and anxiety," Lawrence explains. Patients typically report an almost otherworldly, completely pleasant feeling of relaxation after a session. (For what it's worth, that's been my experience the dozen or so times I've tried acupuncture. |
