THE EFFECT OF GREEN TEA ON BAD BREATH
Plaque not only causes tooth decay and gum disease but is also the primary cause of bad breath. The odor of bad breath, or halitosis as it is technically called, comes from a combination of bacteria, decomposing food, and decomposing tissue. Although bad breath has been blamed on many foods, such as garlic, onions, and cheese, no food does more than temporarily increase preexisting bad breath caused by plaque. If plaque is removed daily through brushing and flossing, and decayed teeth are cleaned and repaired, most cases of bad breath will be alleviated. |

Bad Breath
A healthy body has sweet smelling breath that is not offensive. bad breath, or halitosis, can have many causes. Rotting food particles in the mouth due to poor oral hygiene, decaying teeth, infection in the mouth or throat, or indigestion are the more obvious and more superficial causes. These are fairly easily observed and corrected.
Persistent bad breath that is not due to one of the causes just mentioned is an indication that the body is very toxic. It is attempting to neutralize and throw off toxins via the lungs. |

| Other symptoms of constipation can include increased bowel sounds, fatigue (from the toxins), bad breath, and skin blemishes.
You might be surprised to learn bad breath is a commonly overlooked symptom of constipation, but it makes perfect sense when you think about it. After all, the mouth and stomach are connected. A digestive tract that's sluggish due to constipation can cause the mouth to have a putrid odor because of gasses rising up from the stomach and lingering in the mouth. Plus, bad breath means your body is trying to tell you something. |

| Fenugreek reduces swelling and inflammation in the tonsils and lymphatic system, eventually eliminating bad breath. Use 1 teaspoon of fenugreek seeds per cup of water. Gently simmer for 10 minutes, then strain and drink 16 ounces each day. If your tonsils remain enlarged for more than one week, see your doctor. You may have a bacterial infection.
•Indigestion. Coffee not only leaves a bitter residue in the mouth, but also interferes with digestion. Both of these problems lead to bad breath. That's why I prefer peppermint, spearmint or chamomile tea. |

| Bad Breath
Many people are plagued with bad breath. Often they think brushing their teeth and using a mouth wash will cure the problem. Often it does not.
Bad breath can be caused by a number of problems. If you have bad breath day after day, then you should check with your dentist as there may be an underlying medical problem that needs to be addressed.
Often bad breath will be caused by bacteria and food trapped in areas of the mouth. One of these areas which many people don't think about cleaning, is the tongue. |

Gut health depends on the proper balance of bacteria, so if you suspect digestive problems are at the root of bad breath, a good probiotic supplement—acidophilus and/or bifidus—is a great idea. Fructoogliosaccharides (FOS)—a particularly healthy form of nondigestible carbohydrates— are sometimes included in such formulations because they act as food for the "good bugs."
A Diet for Bad Breath
When gut ecology is properly balanced between the "good" and the "bad" bacteria, it's like having a garden that's overgrown with weeds. |

If plaque is removed daily through brushing and flossing, and decayed teeth are cleaned and repaired, most cases of bad breath will be alleviated. Rinsing the mouth with green tea, or even simply swishing a mouthful of green tea around your mouth, can aid in the prevention and treatment of bad breath by dislodging accumulated bacteria and food particles and decreasing the amount of plaque on the teeth.
If your mouth and teeth are pain-free, that's great, but the absence of pain does not mean that your mouth and teeth are completely healthy. |

| Although most people associate bad breath with poor oral hygiene, the more common cause is infection—such as a cold, tonsillitis or allergic congestion. Diets that are high in sugar and/or fat also lead to bad breath because these foods trigger indigestion, which results in the undigested food becoming putrified.
Breath odor is due, in part, to what is happening in our lungs.
Example: For at least 24 hours after we eat garlic, our lungs excrete methyl mercaptan, the compound that causes garlic's odor. |

The weeds in this case are bacteria like Candida albicans (yeast), which can cause all sorts of health problems, not the least of which is really bad breath. Oil of oregano capsules are a great way to kill the little buggers. You also want to starve them. Since they live on sugar, an "anti-yeast" diet—something like the early stages of the Atkins Diet, with no sugar, bread, pasta, rice, cereal, or even fruit for a couple of weeks—is just the ticket. Protein, vegetables, and good fat are the way to go. |
| These herbs are especially good if garlic and onions are the source of your bad breath. Parsley is very high in chlorophyll. Try chewing a few parsley sprigs dipped in vinegar for immediate relief. If you swallow the leaves after chewing them they will be digested and continue to provide fresh breath for a while. These plants seem to reduce the production of intestinal gas by promoting better digestion.

Prickly ash: Use this herb to treat bad breath that is related to dry mucous membranes. Prickly ash stimulates the production of saliva and creates a slight tingling effect when placed on the tongue. It is also slightly antimicrobial and can improve movement in the digestive and circulatory systems. Place 3-5 drops on the tongue to stimulate saliva production a few times daily. Do not use during pregnancy.

Bad breath, bloating, gas, and even fatigue are among the many symptoms of low stomach acid, which HC1 can help.
A great way to determine how much HC1 you need is this: Take one HC1 capsule before a big meal. At the next big meal, take two capsules, and at the third big meal take three capsules, and so on. Continue to do this until you feel a warming sensation in your stomach. Then back off one capsule, and that is the dosage you need to help you with digestion. |

The life of a sick child may depend on whether he is able to remove most of the decomposing substances in his intestines before they are absorbed into the bloodstream and lymphatic system. |
| The bacteria acting to decompose this waste begin to produce toxic, putrid gases, commonly referred to as "bad breath." Some of the gases may also enter the blood, which takes them to the bronchial system and lungs, causing irritation to their protective mucus lining. The offensive odor that results from bacterial decomposition of damaged or dead cells is nearly impossible to mask with mints or chewing gum.
The failure of the congested lymphatic system to efficiently remove metabolic waste material from the respiratory organs can cause a variety of symptoms. |

Cleansing of the large intestine should, therefore, be part of every healing therapy.

| Chewing on a piece of clove after meals helps remove bad breath.
Clove has great preventative value for a number of disorders. For example, it discourages blood platelet clumping, which is associated with cardiovascular disease. This herb contains volatile, essential oils that aid digestion and relieve gas pain and distention; it promotes peristalsis. Its astringent effect helps keep hemorrhages under control.
In addition, clove encourages the loosening of phlegm from the respiratory tract. It also stimulates blood flow to the skin causing localized reddening. |

Diet: Toxins stored in the digestive tract can cause bad breath. Base your meals on a diet of whole grains, raw or lightly cooked fruits and vegetables, beans, nuts, and seeds. These will improve your digestive system and help get rid of toxins. Avoid pungent foods that enter your digestive tract and bloodstream and eventually permeate your whole body so that every breath picks up the offending odor in your lungs and releases it. This is why it can take up to 24 hours to get rid of some offending smells. |
