REPPED: In the first part of this question on avoiding atherosclerosis and improving cardiovascular health, we talked about what to avoid so that you don't worsen your situation. Here in the second part, we'll talk about more proactive strategies that you can use for reversing the build up of plaque in your arteries.
First off, one of the better-known therapies for eliminating the buildup of arterial plaque is called intravenous chelation. This is a therapy that can truly work miracles and help people avoid heart bypass surgery and other complications from atherosclerosis. |

So by applying the first rule here, you would avoid getting health information from the vast majority of traditional sources. Most national disease institutions, societies and organizations are biased because they thrive on the proliferation of disease. Even if they don't gain money from disease, they gain power from it. In other words, if we didn't have cancer in this country, how powerful and influential would the American Cancer Society actually be? They would lose their power if people suddenly became healthy and cancer-free. |

6) avoid all cancer-causing food ingredients (like sodium nitrite), cosmetics (all popular brands), personal care products, home cleaning products, cigarettes, etc. Nearly everyone who has cancer gave it to themselves! You can avoid that by avoiding the things that promote cancer (like hair coloring chemicals, nail polish, chlorine pools, etc.)
7) Educate yourself. |

This should be part of the American Heart Association's new advertising slogan, which is: "Avoid heart disease by dying before you get it!" That seems to be consistent with the AHA's message, after all.
OK let's get serious about this for a moment, and ask "What's stupid about this news?" The answer's obvious -- it's that the American Heart Association, which is supposed be telling people how to prevent heart disease, is out there giving people precisely the wrong information. They're telling people to avoid taking supplements that reduce the risk of heart disease. |

CSPI also downgraded its rating on aspartame and is now recommending that everyone should avoid using aspartame.
(For the record, I've been recommending people avoid aspartame since I first began writing about nutrition. The toxicity of this chemical sweetener was obvious to me, and in my opinion there is no safe dose of a substance that breaks down into formaldehyde in the human body. In my view, aspartame is an obvious neurotoxin, not to mention its cancer-promoting effects. No one should consume it, and children or expectant mothers should avoid it like a poison. |

Adams: And in the UK especially, they're now seeing an official body overturning the advice to avoid the sun, isn't that right?
Dr. Holick: Which is wonderful.
Adams: But in the United States?
Dr. Holick: In the United States I think it's going to be a more slow and gradual process, because the American Academy of Dermatology has so brainwashed the public that you should never be exposed to any sunlight, that it basically is part of everybody's way of life. And it's extremely unfortunate. |

You can avoid that by avoiding the things that promote cancer (like hair coloring chemicals, nail polish, chlorine pools, etc.)
7) Educate yourself. The more ignorant you remain of cancer, the more easily the cancer industry can manipulate you and seduce you into their system of harmful treatments. By teaching yourself the truth about cancer prevention, you'll avoid being exploited by an oncologist.
Finally, I'd like you to know that among the well informed natural health practitioners, cancer is considered as easily curable disease in stages 1 - 3. (Only late-stage cancer is challenging. |

When you're looking for advice on health, wellness, nutrition and how to avoid chronic disease, make sure you're getting that information from a person who checks out in terms of his or her own health. There are many MDs who are quite healthy; one of my favorites is Dr. Gary Null, author of dozens of books on health, wellness and natural medicine. I admire Gary Null because he is healthy himself. He obviously lives what he teaches, and that creates credibility. To me, his state of health means far more than any medical degree. |

Unfortunately, the desire to avoid the sun to prevent the development of skin cancer is leading many people to become vitamin D-3 deficient.
Rickets, a vitamin D-3 deficiency disease is, for example, reappearing in Canada and seems to be averaging about 40 cases a year. Beyond the prevention of rickets, vitamin D-3 is known to have valuable anticancer properties in its own right.
Exposure to the sun should occur in moderation. To avoid excess, it is best to avoid the sun between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. |

Its spikes your blood sugar and results in the secretion of insulin from your pancreas - two things that every health-conscious person should avoid.
Canned fruits (packed with corn syrup)
Watch out for hidden refined sugars in canned fruit products. While canned fruit is one way (although not a very good way) to get some fruit into your diet, most canned fruits are packed with high-fructose corn syrup, contributing carbohydrates and refined sugars to your diet. |
| If you stick to the list I've given you here, you will largely avoid these disorders while simultaneously supporting a healthy lifestyle.
In this list, I have frequently recommended organic products because they are both safer for you to consume and are grown by farmers and ranchers who operate with a higher degree of ethics and integrity. But I do want to clarify my position on organic foods and say that if you are on a very tight budget, it is far better to eat non-organic foods on this approved list than to turn to cheaper foods made with metabolic disruptors. |
| Look for protein powder products that are unsweetened (or sweetened only with stevia), and absolutely avoid protein powders made with artificial sweeteners.
The next best sweetener ingredient, in my opinion, is fructose. Although fructose is a refined carbohydrate, but it has a much lower glycemic index than refined sugar, and it closely resembles the sugars found in fruits.
I used to be a big fan of whey protein, but after learning more about cows' milk (from which whey protein is derived), I made the switch to vegetable proteins. |
| And they know an increasing number of consumers are looking for monosodium glutamate on the label and will avoid buying foods that contain it.
So they've managed to come up with all sorts of ways to sneak MSG into foods without listing "monosodium glutamate" on the label. The most prominent ingredient in this category is hydrolyzed vegetable protein, which may contain anywhere from 12 percent to 40 percent MSG. Another common MSG ingredient, especially in vegetarian foods, is yeast extract. |
| It is essential that individuals with a strong family history of Alzheimer's disease and those having had a stroke or high blood pressure avoid excitotoxin food additives. The simplest way to do this is to restrict foods from your diet that contain excitotoxin taste enhancers such as MSG, hydrolyzed vegetable protein, and aspartame (NutraSweet®).
- Russell Blaylock, M.D., Excitotoxins: The Taste That Kills
From this, it seems reasonable to suspect MSG in the rising rates of Alzheimer's disease that have appeared in Western societies over the last several decades. |
| Keep reading, because in an upcoming section, I show you how to recognize and avoid MSG. (It's not as easy as just looking for "monosodium glutamate" on the label, unfortunately.)
MSG and diabetes
There is also a link between MSG consumption and juvenile-onset diabetes. This is not surprising, since insulin is yet another hormone regulated by the endocrine system. The pancreas - the organ most affected by diabetes - is, in fact, part of the endocrine system as well. |

If you value the health of your children, avoid air freshener products and just use essential oils or citrus peels instead. (Peel an orange and hang the peel in your kitchen.)
17. Synthetic vitamins
Many children's vitamins are made with cheap, synthetic "vitamin" chemicals that actually harm people who take them. Plus, many are loaded up with artificial colors, sucrose and chemical sweeteners. avoid cheap, store-bought children's vitamins or anything containing cyanocobalamin (a toxic form of vitamin B12). |

The only safe strategy is to avoid sodium nitrite completely.
Adams especially warns expectant mothers to avoid consuming sodium nitrite due to the greatly heightened risk of brain tumors in infants. Parents are also warned to avoid feeding their children products that contain sodium nitrite, including all popular hot dogs, bacon, jerkies, breakfast sausages and pizzas made with pepperoni or other processed meats. "Sodium nitrite is especially dangerous to fetuses, infants and children," says Adams. |

In fact, if you avoid those foods and engage in basic nutritional supplementation and cardiovascular exercise, your body will clean out the arteries for you over time all on its own. But don't forget it also means shifting to healthy oils and getting plenty of omega-3 oils, fish oils, and other healthy oils into your diet on a regular basis. |
| This is a therapy that can truly work miracles and help people avoid heart bypass surgery and other complications from atherosclerosis. Intravenous chelation involves the introduction of certain minerals and binding compounds into the human bloodstream through an intravenous solution. In other words, they put an IV in your arm and drip fluids containing chelated minerals into your bloodstream.
What does this do? This chelation solution binds with the plaque in your cardiovascular system and then helps flush it out of your system. |

They're telling people to avoid taking supplements that reduce the risk of heart disease. Shouldn't this association be giving people information that makes them healthier rather than increasing their risk of heart attacks, strokes and other cardiovascular trauma?
If you look at the history of the American Heart Association, their present position is no surprise. The AHA has, for decades, denied any benefit whatsoever from vitamins, minerals or nutritional supplements. |

To turn the tables on the food lobbyists, and in an effort to educate the public about the details of which grocery ingredients to avoid, I've written a book on the subject called "Grocery Warning." This book reveals all the dangerous ingredients to be avoided, along with which foods and beverages contain them. It presents shopping lists: foods to avoid vs. foods to buy, and helps shopper make informed, health-enhancing foods choices each time they shop for groceries. You'll find details on this book at TruthPublishing. |

Definitely avoid non-organic kefir of any kind, and I strongly recommend that even when you buy organic kefir, avoid products made with added sugars. This is a fermented beverage, not ice cream. Don't think it's supposed to taste like a milkshake. It's a slightly bitter beverage when you drink it plain, but that's what kefir is supposed to be.
Thumbs way up: Raw almond milk
Another current favorite at my house is raw almond milk. It's made from raw, soaked almonds, water, vanilla and a pinch of sea salt. I've posted a video on how to make this yourself using a Vita-Mix. |

It's much easier to avoid using the microwave if you don't have one around. It will clear up counter space, save you electricity and greatly enhance your dietary habits. When you need to heat something, heat it in a toaster oven or a stovetop pan (avoid Teflon and non-stick surfaces, of course). Better yet, strive to eat more of a raw, unprocessed diet. That where you'll get the best nutrition anyway. Buy yourself a Vita-Mix and blend up some smoothies. It's faster than microwaving foods are far healthier. Work to safely get off all prescription drugs, eat a diet of natural, wholesome foods (and avoid processed foods), exercise regularly, avoid toxic chemicals in your home (throw out those toxic laundry detergents and switch to soap nuts), and toss those toxic personal care products (skin creams, cosmetics, shampoo, etc.). Stay natural, healthy and alert. Be well, and you'll be the exception! And please, never be so gullible as to think that your government is going to "save you" with a new health care reform plan. |

Stabilizing aloe vera gel
The aloe vera product I'm recommending here uses a low-temperature drying technique. Most aloe vera on the market is dried at much higher temperatures. In fact, click here to read an interesting patent on stabilizing aloe vera gel using high-temperature drying that goes up to 80 degrees Celcius. The patent makes for interesting reading if you're curious how aloe vera gel is typically harvested and packaged. |

One thing for sure is that nobody is bothering to fund educational campaigns that would teach black women how to actually prevent breast cancer and avoid the disease altogether."
The cancer industry, Adams says, is banking on the continuation of the disease and simply cannot afford to have 80 percent of black women avoid breast cancer entirely. "The loss in revenues and jobs to the cancer industry would be devastating," he explains. |
