But let me begin it by saying up front that I cautiously support the artificial growing of meat for a number of (possibly surprising) reasons that I will detail here.
First of all, let me state that my diet currently consists of very little meat. I don't believe in eating animals for their flesh. I don't believe in raising animals and slaughtering them just because their muscle tissue is something I want to consume casually at a Friday barbecue. |
| REPPED: Technology is rapidly emerging that will allow scientists to grow artificial meat for human consumption. Yes, this will be just like meat at a molecular level, except it won't come from an animal. It will come from a factory where it was grown cell by cell on a lattice structure using some advanced technology. This article is about the implications about such technology in terms of society, public health, ethical treatment of animals, and other such topics. |
| Healthier than that would be of course free-range meat, kosher-certified meat, and along the lines of similar health would be artificial meat. None of these meats, as I have stated, are in fact good for you if consumed in large quantities. I believe that meat is not necessary for the human diet, except perhaps in the case of pregnant women who need extra iron and protein. In that case, the meat serves as a very high density protein and iron source that cannot be replicated from the plant world (iron from plants is molecularly different than iron from meats). |
| That's one reason why I support the artificial meat idea, because if we can create meat and make it available to consumers without having to kill animals in the process, then we are in fact doing far less harm to the world. We're causing less suffering. We are not putting these animals through the experience of being enslaved in a system with the sole purpose of turning their body into a food source and, ultimately, a profit source. Let's face it -- that's what cattle ranching and pig farming and chicken farming is today. |
| Even though the long-term solution is to move to a plant-based diet, as a civilization, a short-term solution could include artificial meat.
Many benefits from a plant-based diet
I have probably eaten more than my share of meat for my entire life already. When I was growing up, my grandfather was a cattle rancher, so we got all the free meat we ever wanted and I ate meat constantly. I have now mostly given up meat (and red meat entirely), but I don't believe in aggressively pushing vegetarianism onto others. |
| I'm not saying that artificial meat will be good for you, either, but it won't be as bad for you as commercially raised meat.
The other point here is that there is such a thing as healthy, live meat from free-range animals. If you take an animal from a natural environment, fed raw plants, raw grasses, live foods, without it being subjected to antibiotics and hormones or inhumane methods of slaughter, that meat will be much healthier for you than traditionally raised beef. Still, there's no denying that this is a terrible experience for the animal. The animal is still being killed and eaten. |

Hahnemann reasoned that the artificial diseases reliably and briefly induced by his 'proven'—experimentally tested—medicines more powerfully engaged the patient's vital force. The strong symptoms thus artificially induced 'extinguished' the weaker (but more persistent) effects of the natural disease, then disappeared as the medicines left the patient's system: 'By giving a remedy which resembles the disease the instinctive vital force is compelled to increase its vital energy until it becomes stronger than the disease which, in turn, is vanquished. |

Farmed salmon don't eat krill, so they get their red color from astaxanthin supplements that may or may not be artificial—plus a nice dose of artificial color chosen from a Salmo-Farm color wheel. But don't get me started.) So what exactly are krill and why do we care?
Krill are little crustaceans that look like shrimp and provide food for everything from salmon to blue whales. And they're one of the most nutritious creatures in the sea. Not only are they loaded with the aforementioned astaxanthin, but they're a great source of valuable omega-3 fatty acids. |

I say this in jest, of course, since I am adamantly against the use of Ritalin in children, but let's be crystal clear about one thing that's different from last year's Halloween: This year, we have scientific evidence that artificial colors cause hyperactivity in children.
The evidence I'm talking about is, of course, the study recently conducted in the U.K. at the University of Southampton and published in The Lancet which establishes a strong correlation between the ingestion of artificial food colors and hyperactivity (which is eventually diagnosed as "ADHD"). |

It's not too sweet, and it has no artificial ingredients -- no artificial colors, preservatives, sucralose, aspartame, or artificial chemical sweeteners healthy people already know to avoid.
It's a great product. I've tasted it myself, and I think it is a great way to get nutrients into your body. And the important thing about drinking your vitamins is that in Western societies, the older we get, the harder it becomes for us to digest and break down foods and assimilate their nutrients into our bodies. This is especially true in nursing home patients or senior citizens. |

| Many artificial sweeteners and other additives have received the stamp of approval from the FDA — the same agency that approved Vioxx, Prozac, and other questionable drug products.
In the early years of my diabetic life, sweets meant cyclamates or saccharine-altered products. Both were eventually declared carcinogenic after the FDA approved aspartame as their artificial sweetener of choice. |

I recommend that if a pregnant woman eats meat and/or dairy products, these should be "free range" and organic, or at least free from the artificial hormones and pesticides used in the agricultural processes. Dairy products have some of the highest concentration of estrogen-mimicking artificial compounds and growth hormones. Xenoestrogens from pesticides are also suspected of causing genetic damage. |

Some of the bodies were surgically implanted with artificial joints (post-mortem, of course) then propped up as some sort of celebration of the genius of modern joint replacement surgery. I thought this was odd. Yes, I know, in a roomful of dead bodies, stripped of their skin and propped up into artificial poses, I noticed something that struck me as bizarre. Why would they perform joint replacement surgery on dead bodies? Was the procedure billed to Medicare?

Scott Whitaker, in his book MediSin, tells us how unfortunate it is that the modern day farmer has been persuaded to use monoculture, artificial fertilization, pesticides, and herbicides. "The end result of our domestic food production has been 'quantity' rather than 'quality'. The human body can thrive on fruits and vegetables that are grown on vital rich soil but not on soil that is artificially pumped up with chemicals." Thus today hardly anyone can eat enough fruits and vegetables to supply his or her body with the mineral salts required for good health. |

| In addition to artificial sources of radiation, fault lines under the ground are natural sources of potentially harmful radiation as well.
When electromagnetic radiation comes into contact with living matter, it causes ionization—the loss of electrons from atoms. This process negatively affects DNA, and can result in chromosomal mutation or even cellular damage and death. If losing electrons negatively affects a cell, then it can also affect tissue, which will affect organs, and then entire bodily systems. You can see where I'm going with this. Basically, you don't want to lose electrons. |

Psyllium husk fiber is an outstanding insoluble fiber that supports your digestive health, and unlike a lot of the other fiber products that you might find at popular stores, psyllium husk, taken by itself, has no sweeteners, no artificial flavors, no colors or any other questionable ingredients. (A lot of the popular fiber products you find on the market are loaded with these artificial items, but not straight psyllium husk fiber.)
Now there's a fiber product available from the Amazon Herb Company called Fiberzon. |

Ezekiel Bread:
Refers to a Biblical edict (Ezekiel 4:9) to bake bread with ingredients such as wheat, barley, beans, lentils, millet, and fitches, and without artificial ingredients. salad dressing or a mixture of oil and organic apple cider vinegar are excellent complements. Select only the red or dark-green leafy types of lettuce. Iceberg-type lettuces are usually hybrids and contain virtually zero nutritional value. Spinach (and baby spinach) is an excellent source of nutrients, and besides that it tastes great in salads. Mix some raw seeds or nuts of your choice into the salad. |
| Also, these foods are laced with toxins from the artificial conditions employed to grow, process, and prepare them for sale. For instance, pasteurization uses heat to kill the valuable live enzymes in dairy products. Without these enzymes, dairy products can be toxic to your body, leading to allergies and other immune system problems.
If heat can kill the enzymes in raw foods during pasteurization, it will also kill them in the foods we cook. Raw living foods (loaded with nutrients and active enzymes) are much healthier than over-cooked foods devoid of any nutritional value. |
| Aspartame:
An artificial sweetener marketed under several brand names, Aspartame is commonly used in more than 5,000 consumer products such as diet colas, candy, chewing gum, and baking goods. The substance has been linked in several studies to higher incidence of tumors and lesions of the brain, cancer, and even DNA damage.

If you wish to find success in applying the Law of Attraction, it's crucial to get these artificial fragrance chemicals out of your life (and away from your nervous system).
Processed sugar: Sugar greatly impacts the healthy functioning of the nervous system, and refined sugar is a lot like crack in the way it alters (and impairs) brain function. All refined sugars should be avoided, including high-fructose corn syrup (the sweetener in sodas), dextrose, sucrose and others. |

Thus although homeopathy was based on two fairly straightforward principles, its practice depended on an elaborate complex of factors:
We only require to know, on the one hand, the diseases of the human frame accurately in their essential characteristics and their accidental complications, and, on the other hand, the pure effect of drugs; that is, the essential characteristics of the specific artificial disease they usually excite, together with the accidental symptoms caused by difference of dose, etc. |
