But the most important use of Hawthorn in Plant spirit Healing is the ability to put the heart back in its rightful place as the pilot, allowing the mind to serve as the copilot. The heart has been displaced since Descartes said, "I think therefore I am." As the heart gets more and more displaced, less and less coherence is possible.
This causes separation from our primary perception, which informs our senses, guides our intuition, and instills our life with meaning.
A student's client came to her for a massage and in the course of the massage he mentioned suffering from chest pains. |
| An unwavering focus is required as the fire spirit may come in many different forms.
I dozed by the fire, listening to the soft murmurings of those in the circle. Suddenly I jerked awake, the fire having dwindled, the others dozing now too. I added wood and up leapt the flames. I watched as the fiery faces began to take shape in the coals, each successive one taking on a more expressive look. I sat mesmerized by the glowing transformations in front of me. Transfixed, I found myself being drawn into the dream of the fire and there, in the very middle, I began to move in a dizzying swirl. |
| I worked with the spirit of Dandelion to clear her third chakra, she took Dandelion flower essence to give her self-confidence to overcome any obstacles, and she took Dandelion tincture to help her digest her life (and her food) so that she could eliminate regularly, letting movement flow. Nancy eventually divorced her husband and lives independently. She no longer has thyroid problems, her energy is good, and her digestion is normal. During the summer she is able to work on an organic farm, her lifelong dream. |

You worked with the spirit of Rose even though I hadn't told you about my dream or that I had started to use it. Before the treatment I could hardly deal with anything; my marriage was falling apart and my heart was unable to bear it. I had been hurt so many times my heart literally felt beat up. After the treatment I drove home singing the whole way. I felt so good, could feel the change in the energy, and began to see love in a bigger picture instead of just from my narrow perspective. I used Rose a lot during those times and I feel it was a major help to me during my divorce. |
| I have found that Angelica has the lovely ability to bring spirit into form through involution—the manifesting current—by moving through the seventh chakra. For those people who always have their head in the clouds, Angelica can help them move into their body and vice versa; Angelica can help those who are stuck to the earth access loftier realms.
Another aspect of Angelica revealed itself to Lisa, one of my students. Lisa is color-blind and has particular difficulty seeing the color purple. However, after her encounter with Angelica she could see purple. |
| Jill placed her hand on his heart and immediately the spirit of Hawthorn appeared in her energy field. She knew that his heart had been displaced. Previously, Hawthorn had shown Jill how to place her hands in order to bring the heart back to its rightful place. She put one hand on his heart and one on his head. In her inner vision she could see the heart sitting to the left. In place of the heart was a litany of "shoulds" that had to do with his work, finances, and home life. All of the decisions he was making were based on the "shoulds" and not on his heart's desire. |

While God was not quite the same as our creator, it was close enough, and we began to call our Great spirit by the same name. The santos [saints] that the church recognized were like the spirits that we honor and call into our prayers. Mother Earth that brings us crops, rain, and life they called 'Mary.' We substituted their names for our beliefs." So that explained why this church looked a little different from those that I'd seen in the past. The outward symbols were masking a deeper spirituality and the true beliefs of another time.
Of course! I thought. |

Medicinal Spirits
A spirit or essence is al solution of a volatile substance in alcohol or in water and alcohol. Medicinal spirits are made either by dissolving the volatile oil in alcohol, as in the case of Peppermint spirit BPC made with peppermint oil, or by distillation.
To produce a medicinal spirit by distillation, the crude drug is pulverized, mixed with alcohol, and allowed to stand until the volatile components have dissolved out of the herbal tissue (oil cells, oil glands, oil reservoirs). Finally these components are recovered by distillation. |

We have used it in our White Buffalo spirit Dance and other ceremonies. The author's personal connection is through his blood lineage to the Levite priesthood going back 3,400 years. In the symbolic giving of the bread of Melchizedek, it is possible that the bread that Abraham received was the white powder. This may just be symbolic or it may be much more. Bethlehem means house of bread. The author doesn't believe that the ancient mystics were just thinking about physical bread when they were talking about this. In the Lord's Prayer is a request to give us our daily bread. |

| From the Essene Gospels comes further lessons in the value of eating to feed the spirit:
For the power of God's angels enters into you with the living food which the Lord gives you from his royal table. And when you eat, have above you the angel of air, and below you the angel of water. Breathe long and deeply at all your meals, that the angel of air may bless your repasts. And chew well your food with your teeth, that it becomes water, and that the angel of water turn it into blood in your body. And eat slowly, as it were a prayer you make to the Lord. |

New Testament, Shakti Kundalinipat transmission is referred to in John 20:22, which says that Jesus "blew upon them and said to them: 'Receive Holy spirit.'" In the Yogic traditions, Shaktipat is a well recognized approach for awakening the Kundalini.
Muktananda gave Gabriel Shaktipat by hitting him with his peacock feather wand. He followed this by putting his hand over this one's mouth in a funnel and blowing directly into this one's mouth. After this he squeezed this one at the bridge of the nose and pushed his head back. |
| It may be a moment of a quiet and subtle sense of attunement during which our body, mind, and spirit feel totally harmonious with all of God's creation such as what may occur while watching a beautiful sunset. It may be a continued experience of joyous well-being. It may be the experience of the awakening or energizing of the power of the Kundalini. Although these experiences occur more frequently with proper diet and fasting, this does not mean that by diet and fasting alone we become Enlightened. |
| The Phenomenon of the Divine Body
A complete theory must also include the phenomenon of the Divine body - the finding that the bodies of certain holy people do not decompose after the spirit has left the physical shell. Examples of this discovery include the following:
• Jnaneshwar Maharaj, who had himself buried alive at the age of 21 in a cave. Three hundred years later, he was found by the great sixteenth-century saint Eknath Maharaj to have a perfectly glowing and lifelike body. |

I would, like Ann, strive to be more fully present in my loved one's life and to enjoy the simple pleasures—holding hands, going on walks, listening to music, and eating meals. |

Much of the imagery the healers used to describe what they did was framed in terms of relaxing, releasing, or allowing in spirit, light, or love. For some healers, the spirit was Jesus; for others, Starwoman, a healing Native American grandmother image.
Targ had interviewed the healers about their work, and I spoke with her before she died about the common threads she had discovered among their diverse approaches.40 She found that a quality of loving compassion or kindness was essential in sending out a positive intention to heal. |

How the spirit recoils from a struggle with death! How fondly it retains its grasp on life! Man's great desire is for health and long life on earth; "Man clings to the world as his home, and would want to live here forever, if he had health and long-lasting youthfulness."

The term shen usually is translated as "spirit," which is frequently misunderstood by non-Chinese speakers.
The word shen does not mean the soul (in traditional Chinese medicine, there are two aspects of the soul known as the hun and the po) or your individual spirit. It is a person's mind/consciousness and emotional balance. Disturbances of shen produce anxiety, insomnia, bad dreams, moodiness, listlessness, and poor memory. Reishi is used for people with

You can achieve this state when you understand your real priorities and your deepest needs. Your spirit must understand your own program of existence. Your "life script" makes you aware of your real needs as a person in development. It is when your spirit commits to a project, action, behavior, profession, or love that you are aligned with your own path. Only you can understand the quality of such experience. This attitude develops into a state of well-being—in health, creative harmony, and self-intelligence. |

Many of the more effective ones had asked for help - from the spirit world or from the collective consciousness, or even from a religious figure such as Jesus. It was not an egoistic healing on their part, more like a request: 'please may this person be healed'. Much of their imagery had to do with relaxing, releasing or allowing the spirit, light or love in. The actual being, whether it was Jesus or Spider Woman, appeared irrelevant. |
