While you can set a video recording auto-stop timing function for, say, two hours, the Archos unit sometimes just stops recording before the two hour time limit for no reason at all, forcing you to start over or just flat out miss whatever you were trying to record. Its built-in FAT32 file system also limits video files to 2GB, meaning it has to split larger videos into multiple files. This also means that if you're trying to use the Archos 705 as a portable video player, you can't copy any file to it that's larger than 2GB!
That's absurd. |
| Plugging it into the DVR adapter to record a video? It crashes. Trying to play back a video? Crashes. Trying to copy files to it from your computer via USB? Big time crash. The Archos 705 unit seemed to just crash randomly and unexpectedly at various times. (I installed the latest firmware update right out of the box, by the way. So this wasn't a firmware issue.)
But the random crashing of the Archos 705 was the least of its problems. It turns out that its video recording algorithm is fatally flawed: It introduces a video hesitation or "hiccup" every 15 frames or so. |

Get yourself some kind of MP3 recording device or video recorder, take it to class with you, and see what you can do to record the most outrageous teacher you can find. I would love nothing more than to shed some light on what's going on in the classrooms today, and I'm willing to make it worth your time financially.
Here's how it will work. If you have a recording, contact us at the email address listed on the left. Tell us you have a recording of audio or of video. Then, you can arrange to send us that recording for review. We won't use it until we have your permission to do so. |

With the legislative influence of the RIAA and the MPAA, it may turn out that if you ever record a movie you'll be arrested as a movie pirate and charged with a felony. It goes back to the classic Sony VHS recorder lawsuits decades ago. In fact, if Sony had won those lawsuits, then all VHS recorders would have been outlawed and people recording TV shows on VHS tapes would have been charged with piracy.
In my opinion you are doing nothing wrong if you own a movie on DVD and rip it to other player formats such as PlayStation portable, iPod video, cell phone video, or any other video format. |

For around $500, it should at least record videos without keyframing artifacts, not to mention that it shouldn't crash more often than my Windows PC. This device makes Windows Vista look stable by comparison!
My recommendation? Skip the Archos 705 product. If you're looking for something to take with you to the gym and watch while you work out, your best bet right now is probably a portable DVD player (which also happens to be a whole lot cheaper than the Archos device). |

The cancer that the digital mammography found and film missed were the kind that kill women.

Dr. Rowan T. Chlebowski, a medical oncologist at Los Angeles BioMedical Research Institute, says, "Even without a clinical benefit, digital would replace film. With the current mandate for electronic medical records, you are going to have a hard time getting a film mammogram into an electronic medical record. |

We don't want anyone to record or know about the evils going on in the classroom today." From the point of view of school districts and many school administrators, any kind of recording device is unacceptable, and they will attempt to ban those devices and confiscate them from students.
I'm going to make a prediction right here and say that school districts are going to lose this battle due to the miniaturization of recording devices. Video cameras and audio recording devices are getting ever smaller, and as they get smaller, they become easier to sneak into classrooms. |

The needle is stuck for a lifetime on one record or the other. And it is literally a record that plays ad infinitum. It is the record of our lives; the background music we dance to, even when we can't hear the beat. We may dance fast because the music is fast, forcing a rapid metabolism, pressured thoughts, and impulsive behavior. We move to a slow waltz if we are parasympaths, and more "up" music if we are not. Even if we can't actually hear the music, the body still dances to it. The heart is doing rocking and rolling while we may want to waltz. |

It is important to record the time and quantity of every food you eat, including all snacks, and everything you drink.
At our center, we have patients review their food records with a registered dietician. If you can get the help of a dietician this is ideal, but if not, you will find it helpful to spend time carefully keeping and then reviewing your own food record. Most people are unaware of or forget about 30 percent of the calories they eat. |

Let's say you are playing a Janet Jackson CD and you hit "record" on the tape recorder. You would be breaking the law. You could be thrown in prison as a felon for doing that. Or let's say that you were watching a movie on TV and you had an old VHS recording machine. Let's say you wanted to record the movie on the VHS tape, so you could watch it in your Winnebago while you are driving through the great American West. You could be imprisoned for years and fined hundreds of thousands of dollars for doing that if these new laws become a reality. |

The Windows utility will only record 60 seconds of audio, but that audio sounded great. I also recorded other streaming audio with the Windows sound recorder, and it sounded great as well. Then I switched to the PlusDeck software and tried to record on that. Sure enough, I got the same terrible sound quality, so I know this was not a hardware problem. It was in fact a software problem. Again, it's no surprise because nearly all the software I've seen from Korean companies is of very low quality. Much of it just flat out doesn't work as advertised. |

TEA ARRIVES IN EUROPE
The record of what may have been the Western world's earliest experience with tea has been preserved in Chinese writings but, apparently, not by any Western historians. It seems that in a.d. 479, Turkish traders arrived on the Mongolian border and bartered for tea, but we have no record of tea's reception back in Turkey. The next recorded Western contact with tea occurred in a.d. 850, when a man named Suleiman wrote An Account of Tea by Two Arabian Travelers. |

In other words, you could be a felon just for pressing record on your VCR. That's what movie studios actually want and that's what they're proposing in current legislation. They don't want you to be able to record anything. A tape recorder will turn you into a felon if those laws become reality, and of course, you'll never be able to rip video to anything without breaking the law.

Diminished oxygen at birth and before (a carrying mother smoking at least 10 cigarettes a day plus anesthesia at birth) establishes a physiologic record. This record orchestrates a large variety of reactions; each reaction is an adaptation to the threat against survival. Thus, there are lowered oxygen levels as expressed through chronic fatigue syndrome, for example, and many phenomena governed by brainstem functions, such as butterflies in the stomach, dizziness, spaciness, and a vague terror. All of the visceral reactions can be included here. |

Count the beats (pulses) for 6 seconds and multiply the number by 10; this is your pulse rate.
3. record your resting pulse rate first thing in the morning before getting out of bed.
4. record your pulse 30 minutes before each meal, then 30 minutes and 60 minutes after each meal.
If the difference between your morning pulse and either of the two after-meal rates is more than 12 to 16 beats, chances are you have a food allergy. Once you have identified a meal that triggers a rise in your pulse rate, you can begin testing individual foods eaten during that meal. |

The following technique may be useful: Schedule 30 minutes or more of worry time at least 3 hours before bedtime. Write down what you are worrying about on index cards, then write solutions at the bottom of the card. |

As recorded in the Congressional record of 1985, then CEO of Searle Laboratories Donald Rumsfeld said that he would call in his markers to get aspartame approved. Rumsfeld was on President Reagan's transition team and, a day after taking office, Reagan appointed Hayes. No FDA Commissioner in the previous sixteen years had allowed aspartame on the market.
In 1983, aspartame was approved for use in carbonated beverages. Today it is found in over 5,000 foods, drinks and medicines. |

No recorded pandemic, before or since, has come close to touching the plague's record. We hope none ever will.
It was a gruesome disease. In its most common form the bacterium that's thought to have caused the plague (Yersinia pestis, named after Alexander Yersin, one of the bacteriologists who first isolated it in 1894) finds a home in the body's lymphatic system, painfully swelling the lymph nodes in the armpits and groin until those swollen lymph nodes literally burst through the skin. Untreated, the survival rate is about one in three. |

FDA's record keeping and case tracking practices are inadequate. Although the Federal Records Act and internal agency procedures require FDA to keep records that document agency enforcement decisions, FDA does not appear to comply with these requirements. FDA's response to Committee requests for relevant enforcement documents was haphazard, incomplete, and untimely. FDA officials explained that FDA could not provide prompt and complete responses because the agency lacks a system that enables it to track enforcement recommendations from field offices. |

Young twin patients of Ron's, Andre and Paul, had both suffered from asthma since early childhood. This had severely inhibited their playing sports. They had to use their puffers daily and always needed them before any physical activity. For two years they followed a regulated swimming programme and complementary Controlled Pattern Breathing regime, and their asthma improved remarkably. |
