Now, I knew there were problems with the public school system, I knew that a lot of public education was a complete waste of time and that many public schools are nothing more than taxpayer funded daycare. But even I was horrified to learn that our public schools are turning into mental institutions and forcing children to be dosed on psychoactive drugs just to be there. What happened to the right of children to have an honest education these days? |

Through the Internet website of the Food and Drug Administration and a toll-free telephone number, the Secretary shall make readily available to the public a list of registered exporters, including contact information for the exporters. Promptly after the approval of a registration submitted under paragraph (1), the Secretary shall update the Internet website and the information provided through the toll-free telephone number accordingly.

It lies to the public, defends the profits of pharmaceutical companies, and ultimately operates with apparent legal immunity.
In fact, U.S. lawmakers think the FDA is doing such a great job that they are about to reward the agency with even more money, expanding its powers and deepening its financial ties with Big Pharma. The bill in question (click here for the story) is being renamed on practically a daily basis. |
| They are deliberate, and they follow a pattern of deception that appears to be designed to sneak CAM Guidelines under the radar and avoid public scrutiny. Consider this:
The first draft of the CAM Guidelines was issued by the FDA on the day after Christmas, 2006, but the agency waited until February 26 to post them in the Federal Registry. |

The Integrator asks, "Can't you see how, with a suspicious public out there and all this hoopla that just extending to 90 days from February 27 makes some sense."
Later in that interview, Philip Chao is asked if his middle name is Darth Vader. His response? "No it is not." This is the first time, to my knowledge, that an FDA employee has officially denied his name is Darth Vader.
The campaign to keep you uninformed
Interestingly, opinions are split in the health freedom communities over the interpretation of the CAM Guidelines and the involvement of those trying to stop it. |

When the public learned of these documents thanks to investigative reporting by the health freedom community (credit goes to Rima Laibow, Ralph Fucetola and others who are staying on top of this issue), and filed tens of thousands of complaints with the FDA, the agency initially capitulated and changed the comment period to May 29. This is the comment period shown in this screen shot (click to view), taken May 1st. |
| This email contains statements that directly contradict the FDA's own website and reveal a tactic designed to silence public commentary by retroactively declaring the comment period to be closed even while the FDA's own documents state the period should continue for another 30 days.
Check it out yourself: The FDA website says the comment period ends May 29, 2007 (click here to see the screen capture). But in an email received today by NewsTarget, the FDA's Philip L. Chao claims "... |
| REPPED: The FDA has slammed the door shut on accepting public comments over its contentious "CAM Guidelines" that threaten to destroy natural medicine by classifying virtually all health-enhancing foods, juices, nutritional supplements and functional foods as "unapproved drugs." NewsTarget has acquired emails from an FDA employee and key author of the CAM Guidelines. |

That's the whole point: Distract the public and then steal away the health freedom of Americans under the cover of confusion. It's a brilliant strategy, given that so many Americans have so little time to actually investigate these issues, much less take action on them. And while lawmakers, Big Pharma and the FDA are popping smoke to conceal their tactical movements, the citizens of our so-called "free" nation are having their freedoms systematically stripped from them, right under their noses, spearheaded by the very lawmakers they elected to "represent" them. |

The FDA's reputation is in shambles this year, following the public revelation that the agency was aware of the dangers of heart-damaging medications years ago, yet failed to warn the public or pull the drugs from the market. The agency even went so far as to censor its own drug safety scientists who were attempting to warn the public about the dangers of antidepressant drugs and anti-inflammatory drugs. Accordingly, the agency has earned itself a new name.

The idea that prescription drugs are safe is ludicrous, and trying to "ensure drug safety" by forcing Americans to pay the highest prices in the world for dangerous synthetic chemicals is a logical fallacy and nothing more than a thinly veiled attempt to protect the profiteering drug racket while claiming to be protecting the public.
President Bush has promised to veto the bill if the Dorgan amendment stands. Free trade for medicine simply will not be tolerated in the United States. There's too much money at stake. |

It means that 53 percent believe the FDA provides inaccurate information to the public!
And yet mainstream news sources continue to parrot FDA warnings, press releases and press conferences as if the agency possessed something resembling authority. In reality, it has no authority whatsoever, only tyranny. It rules through intimidation and censorship, not good science and public education. As a result, it has no genuine authority, and no one who is aware of the facts of the situation assigns any kind of credibility to the agency. |

That FDA hold public hearings before finalization of the draft guidance.
2. That FDA change the title of the guidance to use the phrase "Complementary and Alternative Modalities" and not the prejudicial "Complementary and Alternative Medicine" as in the draft.
3. That FDA recognize "therapies that may benefit" as not the same as "treatment of disease" and therefore not to be regulated as "medicine."
The organization also alerted its supporters, in keeping with its educational purposes. Many of theses individuals filed their own or supporting comments. |
| We must meet the FDA's attempts at medical tyranny head on, with overwhelming public outrage, and we must keep at it until we restore the freedoms we have been promised by the founding father of our nation.
Today, America is neither a free democracy, nor a totalitarian police state. But it could go either way. And the direction it heads from this day forward is up to people like you. Will you demand your freedom? |

If it were really about public health, every time a woman gave birth to a child, we'd hand them a manual called "Nutrition For Your Baby," and we'd teach them the basics of how to keep that baby healthy and prevent chronic disease. But we don't do any of that. We don't educate mothers in this country about nutrition and how to protect the health of their babies. We don't educate our children in public schools, and astoundingly, we don't even teach our doctors about nutrition in our medical schools! How crazy is that? |

Or will you let it be slowly, secretly slipped away, one federal document at a time, until you wake up one day and find yourself standing alone in a world or medical tyranny where all the healers have been imprisoned, the herbs have all been banned and the public is chemically controlled under a system of lifetime medical treatment that keeps the drug corporations wealthy?
Think about where this is all headed. The CAM Guidelines spell out the path the FDA wants to take us down. It's up to people like you to stop that effort and help restore genuine health freedom in our world. |

It just goes to show you how unpopular it is when you're a few years ahead of the public perception on these things.)
This law has been needed for quite some time. And who was against this law? Of course, it was the psychiatrists! The community of psychiatrists did not want to let go of this power, because when you have the power to force children to take drugs and to force parents to put children on those drugs, you have consolidated power over entire communities. |

REPPED: The Senate Agriculture Committee recently held a hearing on school nutrition that has inspired the nonprofit Center for Science in the public Interest (CSPI) to keep driving toward national action that will help get junk food out of the public school system. Congress could move this year to restrict junk food sales in public schools, while lawmakers search for a way to conquer the national epidemic of obesity. |

The bigger the organization from which any message emerges, the more likely it is to be corrupted by an ulterior motive (profit, public complacency, etc.) Trust the smaller, independent organizations like PR Watch, Commercial Alert, the Organic Consumers Association, the Government Accountability Project and others.
What you do is your own business, but if you want to be engaged in real solutions, turn off your television. Disconnect from cable and reconnect to books and informative Internet sites. Buy organic produce and avoid processed foods. |

Time and time again, it has been the courageous actions of independent FDA scientists, taking a stand despite intense intimidation and censorship from the agency's top officials, who have warned the U.S. public about dangerous prescription drugs like Vioxx.
Literally tens of millions of Americans have been harmed by FDA negligence over the last decade, and well over one million have been killed by FDA-approved prescription drugs -- many of which were approved based on fraudulent scientific data the FDA conveniently chose to overlook. |
| Through its abandonment of public safety and scientific integrity, the FDA has now become the single greatest threat to the health and safety of the American people, dwarfing any threat posed by terrorists.
The FDA's nuclear bomb
Imagine a nuclear bomb detonating over Seattle, Washington. A hundred thousand citizens might be instantly killed, and two million (or more) could be seriously injured from the fallout. As horrific as that image may seem, this is what happens in America every single year from prescription drugs under the watch of the FDA. |
