Healing consists of a resting phase and a healing phase. During the resting phase, our bodies store nutrients and energy in response to an improved diet and lifestyle; we notice that we are feeling better, and are encouraged by the changes we have made. The healing phase consists of detoxification, destruction of diseased cells, and rebuilding of cells. During this phase, the part of the body to be healed is brought into priority, and symptoms are reactivated. |

Chemoprevention phase III: Empowering the Body's Repair System
In phase I and phase II of chemoprevention, we were primarily concerned with decreasing the amount of oxidative stress the body has to handle and providing adequate antioxidants to prevent such stress to the DNA of the cell. In phase III we will focus on the body's amazing repair system when coupled with adequate nutrients enabling the cell to repair significant damage that has already occurred.
Precancerous lesions or growths offer us a unique insight into the use of antioxidants in chemoprevention. |

Phase one represents the first efforts to study drug metabolism; phase two is often the first introduction of patients with the illness to the drug; phase three represents larger studies undertaken for actual submission to regulatory bodies; phase four, or the "extension" period, is used to generate further safety data on the drug. |

Hydra-Therapy Skin Vitality Treatment, Two phase Moisture Mask for All Skin Types ($38 for 4 applications of each phase) is a two-part mask. phase 1 consists of water, film-forming agent, skin-identical ingtedients, and preservatives, while phase 2 is just absorbent minerals and pigment. It's a gimmicky product with minimal benefit, but can be an OK mask for oily or breakout-prone skin, since it doesn't contain any ingredients that aggravate blemishes or clog pores.

Adaptation phase: The body has apparently adapted to this stressor and appears to have been successful in so doing, but draws heavily upon its resources to maintain this steady state.
• Exhaustion phase: This can lead ultimately the death of the organism.
In the first phase, the glands are activated and the adrenal cortex releases corticosteroid hormones, while the medulla releases noradrenaline. In the second phase, the adrenal medulla pours both adrenaline and noradrenaline into the blood stream. |

Mushroom extracts have been employed on thousands of cancer patients, often with considerable success. Lentinen, an extract from Shitake mushroom, has been approved for clinical use in Japan for many years and is manufactured by several companies. |

It is actually just the first phase of a larger response known as the general adaptation syndrome. The three phases of the general adaptation syndrome are: alarm, resistance, and exhaustion. These phases are largely controlled and regulated by the adrenal glands, a small organ that sits on top of each kidney, which are the source of adrenaline, Cortisol, and other key hormones involved in the stress response. |

As the vibrational rate of a string changes, it may jump out of phase in our universe, into phase in another, and then back into phase in ours. As the string resonates at a particular frequency, it produces subatomic particles. Each resonance is associated with a particular particle. As the vibrational frequency of the string changes, it expresses as different subatomic particles. Like the tunneling electron, these particles can flash into existence in our universe, then flash into another universe, and then flash back into ours. In this way, signals can pass between dimensions. |

| The daily physiological demand for insulin fluctuates and can be separated into two phases: (a) the absorptive phase requiring a pulse of insulin to dispose of the meal-related blood glucose surge, and (b) the post-absorptive phase requiring a sustained amount of insulin to regulate hepatic [liver] glucose output for maintaining optimal fasting blood glucose. Accordingly, effective therapy involves the combined use of two types of exogenous [outside of the body] insulin: a fast-acting mealtime insulin and a long-acting basal insulin. |

Those peaking at opposite times are "out of phase." Physicists believe that entrainment results from tiny exchanges of energy between two systems that are out of phase, causing one to slow down and the other to accelerate until the two are in phase. It is also related to resonance, or the ability of any system to absorb more energy than normal at a particular frequency (the number of peaks and troughs in one second). Any vibrating thing, including an electromagnetic wave, has its own preferential frequencies, called "resonant frequencies," where it finds vibrating the easiest. |

In the first phase, the glands are activated and the adrenal cortex releases corticosteroid hormones, while the medulla releases noradrenaline. This release of adrenaline and noradrenaline precipitates a host of other biochemical reactions, designed to help the body deal with stress.

In the early 1950s, a theory was advanced within the medical community that PMS was caused by unopposed estrogen during the luteal phase of your menstrual cycle. The luteal phase is the time period beginning with the day after ovulation and running through the remainder of your menstrual cycle (it ends the day before your next period). Typically, the duration of the luteal phase lasts between ten and sixteen days, and is generally consistent from cycle to cycle, averaging for most women at fourteen days. |

The study began with a 2-week weight-maintenance phase, followed by a 6-week weight-loss phase. During the weight-loss phase, one group consumed oats with every meal, while the other did not. While both groups lost comparable amounts of weight and improved their diastolic blood pressure readings (the second number in a reading, which reflects arterial pressure when the heart is at rest), only the oat eaters also saw significant decreases in their systolic readings (the top number that measures arterial pressure when the heart beats). |

In the first phase, a few bold explorers discover a new land and map out its basic features. In the second phase, boatloads of immigrant scientists arrive and colonize the land. In the third phase, statues are erected on town squares, sometimes to the original discoverers, more often to the able administrators who built the roads and railways. Smell, as it happens, did not follow this pattern. Scientific colonies never thrived on this particular island. |

Delayed Sleep phase Disorder
This syndrome has to do with an abnormality of the biological clock. Most people get sleepy at night, sometime between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. But people with delayed sleep phase disorder can't fall asleep before 3 or 4 a.m. or even later. Obviously if you have to be at work at 9 a.m., this is a problem. When I evaluate a patient, I inquire about sleep start and end times as well as about the quality of sleep. Answers outside of the normal range suggest a diagnosis of this disorder.
What to do about it? Here are a few recommendations. |

You will return to it later on an as-needed basis. Remember to alternate meditation with the other methods so that you are meditating approximately every other day.
If you suffer from chronic pain or have a problem with excessive weight, you will want to continue doing the following exercises in addition to the above:

There are two major detoxification pathways inside the liver cells: phase 1 and phase 2.
Phase 1 uses enzymes that reside on the membrane of the liver cells and convert toxic chemicals into less harmful substances through various chemical reactions such as oxidation, reduction, and hydrolysis. During any of these processes, free radicals are produced that, if excessive, can damage the liver cells. Antioxidants such as vitamins C and E and natural carotenoids reduce the damage caused by these free radicals. |
