Of course, there are some nutrients that you can't get that way, like cod liver oil and salmon oil, but there are companies out there that really care about the quality of their oils and aren't going to give you garbage. In terms of cod liver oils, one of my top recommendations is Nordic Naturals. They will give you a quality product without a bunch of harmful fillers. |

Hydrogenated oils are so dangerous that I've authored a report on them called "Poison in the Food: Hydrogenated oils," which can be found at TruthPublishing.com. This ingredient is so dangerous that the World Health Organization urged all member countries to outlaw it decades ago (in 1978). In the decades since, food manufacturers have been able to put enough pressure on the USDA and the FDA to keep this deadly ingredient legal, and all the while, they claimed that it was actually good for your health. |

Pure fat foods, such as butter and other added fats or oils, including the oil in salad dressings or sauces, should be limited to about the size of the tip of your thumb. Do not avoid fats and oils altogether, but be sure to exercise moderation. Try to include healthy fats every day. Nuts and seeds, olive oil, and fish oils are examples of fats that you should eat regularly.
Figure 5.3. Pure fats and oils = tip of thumb portion. High-fat foods such as cheese, chocolate, nuts, and seeds = whole thumb portion. |

Healthy oils: Consuming regular quantities of healthy oils and omega-3 fatty acids makes a huge difference on the power and reach of your intention. Eat more chia seeds (www.GoodCauseWellness.com), avocados, raw coconut oil (www.RawFoods.com) and minimally processed plant-based oils. Fish oils can also be supportive if you choose to eat fish-derived products. Flax seeds serve a similar purpose for those who are vegetarian.
Berries: Eat massive quantities of fresh, raw berries to boost nervous system function and greatly enhance the power of your intention. |

It is my hope that consumers will now recognize the dangers of these oils and boycott all food companies that continue to use them.
Food companies that knowingly put this poison into foods should be heavily fined. Better yet, hydrogenated oils should just be banned like the World Health Organization advised in 1978. |

You must eliminate virtually all foods containing processed omega-6s, including most cooking oils (such as corn, safflower, peanut, and soybean oils), salad dressings, microwave meals, and deep-fried foods (such as French fries, fried chicken, and fried fish). By dutifully following these guidelines and taking the fish and plant oil supplements recommended in the following pages, your body's fatty acid ratios should normalize after several months.
For cooking oils, stick with olive oil and macadamia nut oil. |

The truth about calcium supplements
In terms of calcium supplements, I know that calcium is one of the most common supplements out there and researchers have managed to finagle a study that even shows calcium supplements aren't useful for boosting the bone density of elderly patients. People are being told that calcium is absolutely worthless if you don't digest it and absorb it. So how do you do that? |

These are artificial oils that have been processed in a laboratory for the convenience of food manufacturers and food marketing companies. They have no business whatsoever in the human body, and yet virtually every snack product in the grocery store is made with hydrogenated oils.
Margarines are made with hydrogenated oils as well. Unless they say, "no hydrogenated oils" right on the label, they contain it. Vegetable shortening, by the way, is pure hydrogenated oil. It is probably one of the single most toxic grocery products you can put in your body. |

At least the Girl Scouts has the courage to admit the truth about this ingredient. Right on their website, in the FAQs on Girl Scout cookies, they openly state, "...in fact, trans fats are not a healthier choice than saturated fats." Then why do they continue to use the ingredient? |

Refined flOUr and its Spawn. Refined is good in people; bad in flour. Refined white flour (enriched, bleached flour) is not just "lacking the fiber" as many people believe, but it has been stripped of nutrients—by some estimates a full 80 to 90 percent of all the micronutrients that were originally there! |

The most common chemical structure of the essential plant oils is an unsaturated hydrocarbon of general form C1()H16 , known as terpenes. Oxygen-containing compounds of the general formula C10H16O or C1()H180 are the second most common class of constituents. |

For decades, the AHA actually prescribed a diet that avoided all heart-healthy oils, such as cod liver oil, salmon oil, fish oils, omega-3 oil, primrose oil and other dietary oils. The AHA told people that consuming any of these oils would increase their risk of heart disease. Of course, we now know that to be complete nonsense.
Which brings up the all-important question: how many people have died over the past 20 years from listening to the American Heart Association's advice? And, by the way, guess where the AHA gets millions of dollars in funding each year? |

In addition, it is vitally important to eliminate all refined oils in the diet. Refined oils contain trans fatty acids that poison our cell membranes and lead to degenerative disease. It is impossible to have properly functioning immune and hormonal systems while eating refined oils. Most supermarket oils are refined oils. Any oil sold in a clear container, without an expiration date, should be avoided.
Finally, I recommend eating only organic food. Organic food has more nutrients than conventionally prepared food. |

Both alcoholics and chronic dieters often have depressive tendencies. Alcoholics often suffer from symptoms of low mood. Although alcohol may appear at first as a stimulant and mood enhancer, it is in fact a depressant and substantially decreases the ability of the body to extract nutrients from the food we eat. Dieters tend to eat very few B-complex-containing foods, and they often suffer from depression as well.

Hydrogenated oils are artificially processed oils that never appear in nature. They are created by food producers for the convenience of food producers – primarily to add shelf life and consistency to foods so that those foods not only taste great, but can sit on the shelf for months at a time without going bad.
A lot of people think they know that hydrogenated oils are bad for them and they think they avoid those oils by not eating fried foods or other more obvious items. |

It's equally important to avoid corn, soybean, and peanut oils, which are all high in inflammation-promoting compounds that promote damaging stress responses.
Examples: Nearly all fried foods are cooked in a blend of unhealthy oils, including trans fats. Heating increases the amount of trans fat, sometimes up to 40 percent of the oil. French fries and chicken nuggets are saturated with these awful fats. So are almost all of the bakery products made in supermarkets, nondairy creamers, nondairy whipped creams, and many other products. |

Because the heat and chemicals used in other types of refining processes destroy the fatty acids in the oils. However, you cannot cook with most cold-pressed oils because they degrade when heated. Use them on salads, put them on baked potatoes in place of butter, or drizzle them over steamed veggies for a delicious treat.
