Frankly, what needs to happen in this industry is someone needs to jump in and be an authority and clean this thing up. Someone needs to form an organization that actually charges fees to do random batch testing of this and demonstrate to the world who is authentic who is not.
Some have said that I should be the person to start such an organization, but I'm not willing to do that because, again, I don't want to get into the business of taking money from these companies. |

 Two issues need to be reversed
There are really two important issues here that need to be reversed in order for the almond industry to regain any real credibility with consumers:
1) The ruling requiring the mandatory pasteurization or fumigation of all almonds needs to be rescinded. Raw almonds represent no legitimate health risk whatsoever to consumers. (There's far more e.coli in meat products, and you don't see the U.S. government banning raw meat, do you?)
2) The labeling of pasteurized almonds as "raw" needs to be stopped. |

If we are to engage in real science in America, it needs to be based on the quest for knowledge and understanding, independent of business or political interests.  There needs to be justice for the criminal actions committed by drug companies and the FDA. There needs to be justice for the potentially tens of thousands of people who were harmed or killed by the marketing of a drug that Merck knew was dangerous. Another one is stress. We live in a world where people have cockeyed ideas about what they need to do, and if they do not do it, the whole body goes into a fight or flight response. When you are in a fight or flight response your whole biochemistry is changing. You need more nutrients. Eventually you exhaust your adrenals, and when you have exhausted adrenals, nothing happens.  In other words, the more illness, the more your body needs repairing, because vitamin C is needed to build connective tissue.
