Dietary sources of selenium include wheat germ, seafood such as tuna and salmon, garlic, brazil nuts, eggs, brown rice, and whole-wheat bread. brazil nuts are perhaps the best source, and eating just 3-4 brazil nuts per day provides adequate selenium intake for most people. A good source of raw brazil nuts is www.RawFood.com
Vitamins C, E and A: Vitamin C is highly effective at reducing free radical damage, such as that caused by overexposure to the sun or pollution. |

This is why it's a great idea to eat brazil nuts from time to time, because brazil nuts are the only commonly available nut that's grown wild in naturally mineralized soils. brazil nuts are mostly wild crafted, meaning that they are collected out in nature from wild plants, and they are very high in selenium. In fact, just eating three brazil nuts a day gives you the minimum daily requirement for selenium. Of course, selenium is a very important mineral for preventing Alzheimer's disease, preventing cancer and many other disorders. It's also a great anti-viral mineral. |

Vitamins C, E and A: Vitamin C is highly effective at reducing free radical damage, such as that caused by overexposure to the sun or pollution. Free radicals consume collagen and elastin - the fibers that support skin structure - and can cause wrinkles and other signs of premature aging. Vitamin C is especially effective at protecting the skin from overexposure to the sun when combined with vitamin E. |

America is way behind brazil. In brazil, the nation's millions of vehicles almost all run on nonpolluting and non-greenhouse gas emitting sugarcane fuel. Of course, brazil grows a lot of sugarcane, a lot more than we can.
But, in the United States, we have wood chips, prairie switch-grass, corn stubble, and processed food waste; all of this can be turned into fuel that could compete extremely well with peak oil.
Green fuels are different than petrochemical fuels. |

Brazil Nuts
Gathered from trees in the Amazon basin of brazil, this is the only variety of nut that is not cultivated. brazil nuts are a good source of calcium, phosphorus, and vitamin Bj (thiamine), and are among the richest sources of selenium, a vital mineral lacking in most U.S. soils and therefore in most food grown in this country. A one-ounce serving of brazil nuts (six to eight kernels) contains over 800 milligrams—more than ten times the recommended dietary allowance (RDA) of selenium, which is 40 to 75 micrograms. |

People allergic to brazil nuts but not to soy have shown allergies to GM soybeans in which brazil nut proteins were inserted to increase the level of methionine and improve the overall amino acid profile of soy.89 Scientists say that such problems can be prevented by doing IgE-binding studies, by accounting for physico-chemical characteristics of proteins and referring to known allergen databases. That might have identified the brazil nut problem, but there is no way to assess the risk of de novo sensitization, which happens when experiments generate new allergens. |

Why Americans Need brazil Nuts
Unless we're taking selenium supplements or eating brazil nuts, we most likely get whatever selenium we get either from fish or from plants and the animals that graze on them (beef, chicken). How much we get depends on the soil in which the plants were grown (and how much fish we eat). In countries with selenium-poor soil—and consequently low selenium intake—all kinds of health problems have been noted, including higher rates of cancer. |

Following are the known properties of Lapacho:
• ANALGESIC—agent that diminishes pain without the loss of consciousness
• SEDATIVE—agent that alleviates nervousness, irritation and distress
• DECONGESTANT—agent that relieves congestion throughout the body
• DIURETIC—agent used to stimulate secretion and the flow of urine
• HYPOTENSIVE—powerful nervine relaxant that induces sleep when necessary
• VIRUCIDAL—agent capable of destroying a virus
The dramatic cures caused by Lapacho in brazil were so astounding that the government of brazil began to study and confirm its healing properties. |

Imagine what might have happened if Pioneer Hi-Bred's brazil nut soybean were produced in the United States, where GM foods are not labeled. Those with brazil nut allergies might have reacted to a wide range of foods containing soy derivatives without any understanding of the cause. A similar situation may already be occurring with GM foods on the market. A percentage of the population may have allergic reactions without a clue as to the origin of their condition. |

When Monsanto inserted the brazil nut gene into soy, their scientists did not realize that someone who was allergic to brazil nut might possibly die if this type of altered soy was eaten. People have died from merely rubbing a brazil nut on their skin and can become desperately ill from smelling a nut across a room. The potential danger of the brazil nut and soy combination was fortunately recognized and potential tragedy was probably averted when this product was removed from the market, but what about the many other combinations with highly allergenic substances? |

Dairy products from treated cows carry several health risks, the most serious of which is higher levels of the hormone insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1). It is one of the most powerful growth hormones in the human body and is naturally present in cows' milk. One study showed a 10% increase in the free levels of IGF-1 in subjects that drank milk; the controls showed no change. |

It provoked allergic reactions in sensitive people when it was produced in brazil nuts, and those same people showed reactions when the protein was expressed in soybeans.
A GM enzyme produced in peas triggered inflammatory responses in mice, suggesting that it would cause allergies in humans4 (section 1.18). In this case, the protein in its natural state—produced in kidney beans—was not harmful. Only when expressed in GM peas did it provoke a response. The reason is likely due to unpredicted subtle changes in the attached sugar chain patterns (glycosylation). |

If they had tested the GM soy on people who had never before been exposed to the brazil nut protein, their blood and skin would not have reacted.
This illustrates the problem with allergenicity testing in the current GM crops. Their DNA is inserted with genes from bacteria, viruses, and other organisms. The proteins they create have never before been part of the human food supply. People will not react to the protein in the first exposure and no one knows how many will develop allergies over time.
The FDA acknowledged this difficulty. |

2. Avoid drinking coffee, milk, alcohol, bottled juices, or soft drinks during this cleanse. These liquids will decrease the effectiveness of the liver and gallbladder cleanse, and add more toxins to the body. For optimal results drink only distilled water in addition to your cleansing mixture during the day.
It is best to begin the Liver and Gallbladder Cleanse on a Tuesday or Wednesday so on Day 5 (Saturday or Sunday) you will be at home in a relaxing setting and near a bathroom. |

As you might imagine, it is extremely popular at Brazil's famous beaches, but you don't have to go to Rio de Janeiro to get cha de bugre. You can buy many forms of it online.
Still, don't believe in any single supplement to solve your cosmetic weight problems. Getting back to a balanced, healthy diet and engaging in regular exercise is the only sure way of ridding yourself of excess cellulite. |
