In the first public hearings on the subject in more than a decade, federal health advisers have rejected a government report suggesting that mercury-containing amalgam dental fillings are safe.
However, this decision by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) advisory panel is not a declaration that the widely used fillings are unsafe. |

Project F researchers publish a report in the August 1948 edition of the Journal of the american dental association, detailing fluoride's health dangers. The U.S. Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) quickly censors it for "national security" reasons (Griffiths and Bryson).

5) Why is mercury still tolerated in American dental work (and, in fact, still pushed by the american dental association!) when mercury ingestion is so dangerous to human health?
6) Why do vaccination policies still allow the mass injection of babies with methyl mercury, which has been clearly linked to autism and autoimmune disorders?
7) Why are extremely toxic, cancer-causing chemicals openly allowed to be used in skin care products, perfumes and personal care formulas sold throughout America?
8) Why are popular laundry products still allowed to be sold in the U.S. |

Thanks to the continued promotion of mercury fillings by the american dental association and conventional dentists, consumers continue to be poisoned by this heavy metal that's intentionally placed into their mouths. There's so much mercury currently being put into the mouths of humans that the total volume of mercury being dumped into the environment from mercury fillings is nearly equal to that emitted by coal plants.
In fact, the mouth of the average consumer is so toxic that ocean creatures should be warning each other about eating humans. |

| Fluoride is one of the most toxic substances known to man; yet based on its inclusion in virtually every brand of toothpaste, the american dental association believes it's okay to use fluoride for preventative dental care. Other products, such as bottled water, infant formulas, and even vitamin supplements, now contain fluoride! In 2002, nearly 90 percent of the U.S. population was supplied water via public water systems, and around 67 percent of that number received fluoridated water. |

I am really surprised that Medical News Today published the puff piece from the american dental association about their celebration of 60 years of fluoridation, but missed the real news from last week. This was the revelation carried by the Washington Post and the Associated Press (July 13, 2005) that a Harvard thesis has shown a connection between water fluoridation and a 700% increase in osteosarcoma in young men if they are exposed to fluoridated water during their 6th to 8th years. |

Thankfully, the american dental association, which has for many years been one of fluoride's biggest advocates, changed course when it alerted its members in 2006 that parents of infants younger than a year old "should consider using water that has no or low levels of fluoride" when mixing baby formula.
If the naturally occurring fluoride in green tea were even remotely toxic (like the fluoride added to drinking water), it would not have shown to have such a wide range of preventive and curative effects. |

I was just thinking if we used the american dental association approach of eating everything that's supposed to be a topical treatment, then we could revolutionize the cosmetic industry. Women could eat lipstick to make their lips turn red. People could eat deodorant to stop body odor. And we could just eat shampoo instead of actually washing our hair. Maybe the american dental association label of approval will be found on these products as well. |

Ignorant, obstinate dentists continue to use mercury fillings today, and the american dental association remains in full support of this extremely dangerous heavy metal that results in the mass poisoning of children.
Your kid have a cold? It's probably because their tonsils need to be removed! Tonsils have no biological function anyway, doctors claimed. Result: Over the last several decades, surgeons have removed tens of millions of tonsils, maiming children with a medically useless procedure that has now been proven virtually worthless. |

| According to the american dental association (ADA), the use of amalgam is declining. In 1990, dental amalgams comprised 67.6% of all dental restorations, by 1999 45.3% used amalgams, and in 2003, an estimated 30% of dental restorations used amalgam. Cavities that previously would have been treated using dental amalgam are now usually filled with a resin composite.
Several countries, including Canada, Norway, Sweden, Britain, Germany and Denmark, currently advise dentists against using mercury fillings for pregnant women. |

Because he has made these warnings public, he is less than popular with many of his colleagues in general, and with the american dental association in particular. The quote at the beginning of this chapter seems quite apropos with respect to Dr. Huggins.

The Scirex scientists published the results of their study in the May 2002 edition of The Journal of the american dental association. Dentists reading the study had no way of knowing that the FDA had refused to let Pharmacia sell Bextra for acute pain just six months before. Omnicom, the global ad giant, and its clinical research firm had performed and published a clinical trial that would do far more to increase sales than the most creative of advertisements.
Three scientists who later reviewed the Scirex study said it was not persuasive. |

PERIODONTAL DISEASE: In a study that appeared in the Journal of the american dental association, a component of cranberry juice was demonstrated to have the ability to stop bacteria from adhering to teeth and gums, thus reducing dental plaque and periodontal disease.
Tips on Using Cranberries
SELECTION AND STORAGE:
• Purchase prepackaged in plastic bags. Look for plump, firm, and bright berries.
• Besides raw cranberries, you can also purchase dried (usually sweetened), juice (sweetened and unsweetened), sauce, jelly, and even cranberry supplements. |

Maybe the american dental association label of approval will be found on these products as well. Maybe people should just start eating toothpaste instead of brushing their teeth with it, because certainly a lot of children eat toothpaste already, and many of those children suffer from dental fluorosis as a result. (A lot of senior citizens in this country also suffer from hip fractures and bone loss due partly to an overdose of fluoride. |

The FDA has joined the CDC and the american dental association in urging dentists to autoclave—sterilize by steam under pressure—dental hand pieces and accessories between patients to remove possible contaminants. In addition, the FDA requires that all such equipment be designed to withstand autoclaving, and the labeling must include instructions for the sterilization process. While most dentists are believed to comply with the recommendations for autoclaving, it's a good idea to ask what preventive measures a dentist follows before making an appointment. |

You see, they merely offer the block grants for unspecified use by the city being targeted, and then simultaneously have the state health departments and the american dental association move their well-funded forces into the area, screaming for fluoridation.
One may ask the question: If all this is true, why haven't EPA officials spoken out? In fact, some have. In 1990 Dr. William Marcus, senior toxicologist in the Office of Drinking Water at the EPA, was fired for daring to question the validity of a long-awaited government animal study on the safety of fluoride in drinking water. |
| These pediatricians are taking the word of the american dental association, which as we have seen, has a vested interest in promoting the use of a toxic product.

It causes chronic, low-level mercury poisoning that I have no doubt is partly responsible for today's epidemic of Alzheimer's disease, dementia and various neurological disorders. The american dental association, no surprise, continues to insist that mercury fillings are completely safe, despite all the evidence showing that mercury fillings create mercury vapor.
Some forward-thinking dentists, however, are spearheading a movement to ban mercury fillings. The International Academy of Oral Medicine & Toxicology (www.IAOMT. |

As a result, the ousted members formed their own society in 1859 called the american dental association. Today, the ADA is one of the best-funded dental organizations in the world, with over $27 million in annual dues and $10 million more from grants and support from dental product manufacturers and advertisers. Not surprisingly, it uses its money and political clout to further its often-nefarious aims. The ADA is ranked as one of the thirty largest PACs in the nation.

That is, in fact, the current position of the american dental association -- once again, another "health" association that seems to have completely lost its mind.
Even if they say fluoride is good for your teeth, it’s not the same stuff dripping into the water supply. Naturally-occurring fluoride is not the stuff obtained by scraping the chemicals off the inside of industrial smoke stacks. That's where they're getting fluorosilicic acid, which is what most municipalities are actually dripping into their water supply. Seriously, if you take a look at modern dentistry, it's a house of horrors. |

The reason I cite these cases is not to compare high-level mercury exposure to low-level but first, to emphasize the destructive nature of mercury on the nervous system, and second, to point out the danger caused by the American Dental Association's (ADA) refusal to publicly state that dental amalgam fillings contain a high level of mercury, and that the mercury escaping from them can cause serious harm to humans.
High-dose acute or chronic exposures were responsible for casualties in all of the cases cited above. |

Or let's take a different track and follow the line of thinking of the american dental association -- let's mass medicate the entire population with lots of other drugs. Why stop at fluoride? Why don't we drip antidepressants into the water supply, and that way we can have more people committing violent acts and suicide -- documented side effects of antidepressants. Why don't we drip statin drugs into the water supply so that we can lower the HDL cholesterol of every citizen in this country? Believe it or not, that has actually been suggested by some doctors. |

This is a controversial subject, to be sure, but the bottom line is that many developed countries have actually banned the use of amalgam fillings, yet many dentists and even the american dental association continue to defend their use. But why take the risk? Interestingly, most of the dentists I know do not put amalgam fillings in the teeth of their family members. Not everyone has the same level of sensitivity to amalgam fillings. They can result in a health crisis in one person and yet not present any noticeable health issues in others. |

As a comparison, it is interesting to note that Bryson and Griffiths did find one study in the National Archives that formed the basis of an obviously censored article that appeared in a 1948 issue of the Journal of the american dental association. These journalists compared the actual study with the journal results, irrefutably showing that the government suppressed information about the very real health risks posed by fluoride exposure. |

It shows the egotistical, power-hungry nature of the american dental association and those dentists who follow its dangerous philosophy of demanding that people swallow bioactive substances on command -- "for their own good," of course. With the fluoridation argument, a few people in authority positions want to force every single citizen of this country to be medicated on a psychoactive, biologically active substance without having any medical diagnosis, with no public warnings of side effects, and with no real studies to back up its efficacy. But that's just the beginning of this story... |

This finding motivated the american dental association and the U.S. Public Health Service to call for the removal of fluoride in the water from these areas. H. Trendley Dean of the U.S. Public Health Service in 1930 conducted the original work on this problem.
At this juncture, Dr. Gerald Cox took up the banner and suggested that using a smaller dose of fluoride could not only prevent dental fluorosis, but could even prevent cavities. He suggested adding 1 ppm of fluoride to the public drinking water. |

Yet the american dental association continues to support this practice, and thousands of dentists across the country continue to put this extremely toxic heavy metal directly into the mouths of adults and children alike. It's one of the most insane practices in dentistry, and yet it continues unabated.
They are not even called mercury fillings. Dentists refer to them as silver fillings or amalgam fillings. Yet the mercury content of these fillings is higher then the silver content. They call them silver fillings to hide the fact that they are really made mostly out of mercury. |

Yet this myth persists in the dental community, and the american dental association stands firmly behind this national poisoning agenda. They will call anybody who disagrees with it a "nut," and they will say that every population must be fluoridated -- for their own good, of course. That's the only way to ensure they have healthy teeth, the logic goes.
