This is the guest house of Dr. Brian O'Leary, former NASA astronaut and UC Berkeley physicist. I've interviewed Dr. O'Leary several times about energy, extraterrestrial intelligence and the future of life on Earth.

Dr. O'Leary is one of many brilliant, visionary individuals who are moving to Vilcabamba, Ecuador to seek out a new life of freedom, health and astounding natural beauty. More and more pioneering individuals are coming here all the time, including natural health followers, green living advocates, architects, philosophers and all sorts of other pioneering individuals from around the world who are seeking a better life than what is now offered in their home countries.

Dr. O'Leary bought his land up the hill a bit, which overlooks the town of Vilcabamba. I took this picture in August, 2008, from his driveway.

As you can see from the photos, Brian grows bananas and mangoes in his front yard. You can grow just about anything you want here, including avocados, garden veggies, tropical fruits, nuts, medicinal herbs and much more.
