Many Meat Eaters Turn to 'Flexitarianism' to Boost Plants in Diet

What's a Flexitarian? It's a person who eats a mostly vegetarian diet, but adds a little meat once or twice a week. A lot of former meat eaters are turning to flexiterianism, and some vegetarians are adding a little meat to their diets, too, according to this article in the Telegraph (UK). Research also shows that as much as 45 percent of consumers are actively working to reduce their consumption of meat products.
From Telegraph.co.: Twenty years ago, a Gallup survey into British eating habits found that 5.5 per cent of the population avoided red meat. Today, it is believed that as much as 45 per cent of consumers are actively reducing the amount of meat they eat. Families who now ''go flexitarian'' a couple of times a week have come together with pragmatic veggies to create a new breed of health-conscious consumers.... more
