Fruit Pectin Found to Prevent Growth of Cancer Tumors

New research on the anti-cancer potential of fruit pectin has revealed more clues on how the complex carbohydrate helps halt the formation of cancer tumors in the body. It turns out that pectin binds to a protein (galectin-3) known to cause the aggressive growth of cancer tumors. This research further supports the benefits of consuming raw fruits on a daily basis as a strategy for preventing cancer.
