EPA Passes Strict New Regulations on Lead Emissions

The new standard reduces acceptable lead contamination levels of air by two-thirds. That would be great, except it doesn't kick in until the year 2016. In other words, it's nothing but a P.R. stunt by the EPA to create the illusion it's clamping down on lead pollution. Eight years? Should we all just hold our breath until then?
From Nytimes.com: The Environmental Protection Agency on Thursday set stringent new standards for airborne lead particles, following the recommendations of its science advisers and cutting the maximum allowable concentrations to a tenth of the previous standard.
