The future health of the entire world depends on the research being conducted right now by drug companies.
Americans are lucky to pay the highest prices in the world for medication. Everyone else has to settle for "bargain" pricing, but Americans get the honor of knowing their dollars help fund the shareholder profits of the world's wealthiest corporations, all of which deserve unlimited financial riches because they are saving the world from disease.
Drugs from Canada are so dangerous that they cannot be allowed to be touched or swallowed by superior Americans. |

In that meeting, the world Health Organization reached some startling conclusions that many people still have not fully grasped. The organization stated that the next global flu pandemic is fast approaching. There is a strong chance it may become an epidemic, and if that happens, literally 30 percent of the world's population may become infected with influenza.
The particular influenza strain being watched is the H5N1 bird flu virus. Should an outbreak occur, the total deaths expected around the world, according to the WHO, numbers in the tens of millions of people. |

Thus, we end up in a rather dull "hydrogen world," where no chemical elements can exist except hydrogen.*
To proceed with our exploration, let us now examine the effect of varying the strengths of basic particle interactions. Weak interactions do not play much of a role in the present-day universe, except in spectacular stellar explosions—the supernovae. When a massive star runs out of nuclear fuel, the inner core of the star collapses under its own weight. Enormous energy is released, escaping mostly in the form of weakly interacting neutrinos. |

At its infinitesimal level, our world resembled a vast network of quantum information, with all its component parts constantly on the phone.
The only thing dissolving this little cloud of probability into something solid and measurable was the involvement of an observer. Once these scientists decided to have a closer look at a subatomic particle by taking a measurement, the subatomic entity that: existed as pure potential would "collapse" into one particular state. |

They may be on the high side, but even the world Health Organization now says the next global pandemic is overdue. Furthermore (and perhaps even more importantly), the world is not at all prepared to manufacture and distribute enough vaccines to protect the global population from the coming pandemic. Health officials can't even get flu shots distributed without creating a near-panic in the population. Imagine the fear and confusion that would be created by a killer virus: a flu pandemic. So what kind of viral strain is expected to strike the world next? |

Once the wall hits, our world will be completely annihilated. The particles that make up stars, planets, and our bodies will not even exist in the new vacuum. All the familiar objects will be instantly destroyed and turned into clumps of some alien forms of matter.
One way or the other, the vacuum energy will eventually turn negative in our local region. The region will then start contracting and will collapse to a big crunch.3 Exactly when this is going to happen is hard to predict. |
| Einstein used this antigravity of the vacuum to balance the gravitational pull of ordinary matter in his static model of the world. He found that the balance is achieved when the mass density of matter is twice that of the vacuum. Guth had a different plan: instead of balancing the universe, he wanted to blow it up. So he allowed the repulsive gravity of false vacuum to reign unopposed.
COSMIC INFLATION
What would happen if, at some early epoch, the space of the universe were in a false-vacuum state? |
| But although the "beginning of the world" was—and to a large degree remains—a source of discomfort for most scientists, it also had some benefits to offer. It helped to resolve some perplexing paradoxes that haunted the picture of a static, eternally unchanging universe.
To begin with, an eternal universe appears to be in conflict with one of
*The simple connection between the geometry of the universe and its fate holds only assuming that the vacuum energy density (or cosmological constant) is equal to zero. More on this in Chapter 18. |
| In the quantum world, the future is not uniquely determined by the past. The same initial state can lead to a multitude of different outcomes, and we can only calculate their probabilities. As a result, the range of possibility is greatly enlarged. But once again, the quantum uncertainty does not allow us to distinguish between histories that are too close to one another.
A quantum particle does not generally have a well-defined history. This is not surprising, since, as we know, it does not have a definite position. |

Once things got to the level of atoms and molecules, which in the world of physics is considered "macroscopic," or large, the universe started behaving itself again, according to predictable, measurable, Newtonian laws.
With one tiny thumbnail's worth of crystal, Rosenbaum and his graduate student demolished that delineation. They had demonstrated that big things like atoms were nonlocally connected, even in matter so large that you could hold it in your hand. Never before had quantum nonlocality been demonstrated on such a scale. |
| In our act of participation as an observer in the quantum world, we might be not only creators, but also influencers.7
They began designing and carrying out experiments, testing what they gave the unwieldy label "directed remote mental influence" or "psychokinesis," or, in shorthand, "intention" or even "intentionality." A textbook definition of intention characterizes it as "a purposeful plan to perform an action, which will lead to a desired outcome,"8 unlike a desire, which means simply focusing on an outcome, without a purposeful plan of how to achieve it. |
| The observer effect in quantum experimentation gives rise to another heretical notion: that living consciousness is somehow central to this process of transforming the unconstructed quantum world into something resembling everyday reality. It suggests not only that the observer brings the observed into being, but also that nothing in the universe exists as an actual "thing" independently of our perception of it.
It implies that observation—the very involvement of consciousness?gets the Jell-O to set. |

But several companies are already well on their way to introducing such vehicles in North America and around the world. Recently, more than 400 environmentalists, investors and celebrities gathered for the unveiling and induction of the only five-passenger, all-electric, freeway-speed sport utility trucks at Los Angeles' famed Peterson Automotive Museum, and there, they nabbed a sneak peak at the newest electric automobile soon to be launched: The Phoenix Motorcars "SUT" or sport-utility truck.
These new SUT vehicles will be made available by Phoenix Motorcars (www.phoenixmotorcars. |

It offers a highly successful recipe for dealing with the subatomic world. It helped to build atomic bombs and lasers, and to deconstruct the nature of the suns radiation. Today's physicists have forgotten about the observer effect. They content themselves with their elegant equations and await the formulation of a unified Theory of Everything or the discovery of a few more dimensions beyond the ones that ordinary humans perceive, which they hope will somehow pull together all these contradictory findings into one centralized theory. |
| They provide evidence that our world is highly malleable, open to constant subtle influence. Recent research demonstrates that living things are constant transmitters and receivers of measurable energy. New models of consciousness portray it as an entity capable of trespassing physical boundaries of every description. Intention appears to be something akin to a tuning fork, causing the tuning forks of other things in the universe to resonate at the same frequency. |

The best way to help consumers is to control them by limiting their options and minimizing their access to information that might confuse them.

Global Problems
Americans now have the dubious honor of being the fattest people in the world; however, the citizens of most other countries are quickly catching up. Worldwide, overweight and obese people now outnumber the undernourished and starving. The world Health Organization has estimated that more than 1.7 billion adults are overweight or obese, compared with 600 million who are undernourished.
In England, 39 percent of the population tip the scales as overweight, with 21 percent obese. The numbers are rising, and projections suggest that one-third of British men will be obese by 2010. |

Beyond war and economics, we also see cruelty in the world of medicine. Conventional medicine has a long and sordid history of using human beings for medical experiments, even right here in the United States. In fact, news recently surfaced about a hospital that had been using retarded children in radiation experiments. Click here for a Google search on this topic.
This and many other medical experiments have been conducted on living, breathing people right here in the United States. |
| This brings us to a salient point: ending cruelty requires moving past our ancestral roots, and past the behaviors that are programmed into us because they once helped us succeed in an uncivilized world. Today we have to recognize that cruelty is not acceptable in the international community. It is not acceptable to attack and kill other human beings for any reason, and certainly not to take control of their resources in order to enrich ourselves. |
| Nature will eventually return to a state of balance, but finding that balance may involve some dramatic and unpleasant changes in the world around us. Nature can do just fine without human beings, and if we continue on our current path of cruelty towards nature, I have no doubt that we will be setting in motion a chain of events that will result in the sharp reduction of human population on this planet. I believe this will occur through so-called "natural disasters," such as climate change or pandemics of infectious disease (the bird flu virus is a strong candidate). |
| Cruelty can only be acted out by those who suffer from the illusion that we are separate, individual people who exist in isolation from our world, our conscious animals, and the abundant plant and microbial life that sustains us. And thus, the solution to cruelty seems clear: teach connectness. Call it Karma, or call it quantum physics. You can calculate it with mathematics and the laws of life sciences, or intuit it from feelings and emotions. Either way, it is the same truth: we are all connected. We are part of the same system, and we depend on each other. |
