Free radicals consume collagen and elastin - the fibers that support skin structure - and can cause wrinkles and other signs of premature aging. Vitamin C is especially effective at protecting the skin from overexposure to the sun when combined with vitamin E. Foods high in vitamin C include acerola (a cherry-like fruit), red and green bell peppers, guava, kale, parsley, collard greens, turnips, and broccoli. |

All of our products can be eaten and they are food for the skin.
Mike: Can you talk a little bit about what is not in your skin care products?
Ashley: Sure, we do not use anything that is not a natural preservative. We do not use any parabens. We do not use any EDTA, anything at all. Everything that we use to preserve would be salt, sugar, honey and grapefruit seed extract.
Mike: What motivated you to create a product line that is purely natural so that you can even eat it? |

When you look at someone who is suffering from skin problems, it is a clear indication that something similar is going on in the large intestine. For example, people who suffer from severe acne are usually heavy consumers of milk and dairy products.
The link between skin disorders and intestinal health problems
Processed dairy products are what I call stagnating foods (raw dairy is a different story, however). They do not digest easily in the human body. They have no fiber whatsoever, and they contain a protein that is very difficult for humans to digest. |
| Do you think clear-skinned people have sterilized their facial skin? Hardly. If you are suffering from acne, try going dairy-free for thirty days and see for yourself just how much your acne is reduced or eliminated.
The benefits of healthy intestines
When a large intestine is healthy -- when it is not carrying putrefied, undigested food matter and instead contains healing, cleansing phytonutrients like chlorophyll from fresh fruits and vegetables -- it is going to perform its function well. A person who has a healthy large intestine will reflect that in their complexion. |

Best skin Care Company" award by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, following the Natural Products Expo West 2007 trade show in Anaheim, California. Here, the Health Ranger offers a brief review of the company and product line:
Pangea is flat-out one of the most eco-conscious personal care product companies I've ever had the pleasure of learning about. Headed by Joshua Onysko, Pangea goes way beyond the norm in creating eco-conscious, fair trade, health-friendly soaps and personal care products ranging from soap and shower products to skin cleansers, toners and creams. |

Probiotics are good for both the large intestine and the skin for many of the same reasons. The large intestine is kept healthy by maintaining a friendly terrain that welcomes helpful bacteria. We must have friendly bacteria in the gut in order to be healthy individuals for a variety of reasons, some of which are only beginning to be understood by medical researchers. Healthy skin also provides the right terrain for friendly bacteria, while discouraging the growth of harmful bacteria. |

Of course it's all about sensible exposure, which is determined by the pigmentation in your skin. The darker your skin, the more sunlight you need in order to generate vitamin D. The lighter, or fairer, your skin, the less sunlight you need. By the way, one of the people commenting on this study was so baffled by the results they said, "It must all be due to vitamin D, and if you want vitamin D, there are better places to get it like drinking milk." It's typical advice from conventional medicine. They’re still telling people to avoid the sun and, instead, drink lots of cows' milk. |

They work by releasing nicotine that gets absorbed directly through your skin into your bloodstream. If your skin didn't absorb nicotine, the nicotine patches wouldn't deliver a dosage. You have to be half-crazy to think that the skin is some kind of permanent barrier that keeps out everything you put on it.
In fact, the skin is very porous -- the skin breathes. Yes, it keeps out bacteria, but it sure doesn't keep out chemical solvents, and it doesn't keep out molecules as big as nicotine. Nicotine molecules are not very small, by the way. |

In fact, one person in my office -- who has a skin reaction to just about every skin care product on the market -- was amazed that she had no reaction to the Lluvia products.

Finally, just so you know, I'm not involved with the Amazon Herb Company. I'm not a distributor, I don't profit from your purchase of these products and I don't have any affiliate links. Whether or not you decide to purchase or use these products makes no financial difference to me. |
| They do nothing whatsoever to beautify your skin, and, in fact, most of them actually harm your health, because they contain artificial fragrances composed of cancer-causing chemicals. When you put this stuff on your skin, it gets absorbed into your bloodstream and causes liver damage, or even DNA damage. It is a direct promoter of cancer. |

There are many quality skin care product companies to choose from. I currently recommend Pangea Organics (www.PangeaOrganics.com) and the Lluvia line from the Amazon Herb Company (http://amazondreams.amazonherb.net), which are made from rainforest botanicals and contain no artificial or chemical ingredients whatsoever.

| Simply balancing the intake of omega-3s with omega-6s can result in smoother, younger-looking skin. EFAs are also available in supplement form - such as fish oil capsules or evening primrose oil - and are effective at treating a wide range of disorders, from depression and cancer to arthritis and heart disease. Good sources of omega-3 oils include chia seeds, flax seeds and, for non-vegetarians, wild-harvested fish oils. A reputable supplier of fish oils is Nordic Naturals (www.NordicNaturals.com)

| Zinc acts by controlling the production of oil in the skin, and may also help control some of the hormones that create acne. Zinc is also required for proper immune system function, as well as for the maintenance of vision, taste, and smell. Zinc consumption is also strongly linked to a reduction of prostate cancer.
Foods rich in zinc include fresh oysters, pumpkin seeds, ginger, pecans, Brazil nuts, oats, and eggs. Zinc can be purchased in supplement form, in both liquid concentrates and tablets. |

You can tell a lot from the skin, and even from fingernails or eyes. All you have to do is learn to pay attention to your body and interpret the obvious signs of health or disease.
As a side note, Chinese Medicine relies heavily on tongue diagnosis, which is based on the same holistic principles being presented here. The character of the tongue can reveal an extraordinary amount of information about the health of a person's internal organs. Tongue diagnosis is extremely advanced, amazingly accurate and is a medical technology that has been developed and improved for nearly 5,000 years. |

Topical vitamin A treatments are often used to treat acne and other skin ailments. Foods high in vitamin A include liver, chili peppers, dandelion, carrots, apricots, collard greens, kale, sweet potatoes, spinach, and cantaloupe.
It's best to consume vitamin A from natural food sources rather than supplementing it, as vitamin A can be harmful if taken in excessive amounts in supplement form (vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin). You may also wish to consider taking beta carotene, which is a precursor to vitamin A and has none of the overdose concerns of vitamin A. |

Processed dairy products are what I call stagnating foods (raw dairy is a different story, however). They do not digest easily in the human body. They have no fiber whatsoever, and they contain a protein that is very difficult for humans to digest. When milk enters the digestive tract, it can actually stay lodged there for an extended duration and putrefy because there is no fiber to move it out. It begins to create pus-filled sores on the inside of the large intestine wall. |

I read a study about how dangerous it is to put chemicals on the skin. It is even more dangerous than taking them internally because it bypasses the hepatic system. The chemicals go directly into the blood stream before they even make it to the liver to be filtered. So it creates a lot of damage in the body.
Mike: This is a good point. I am glad you mentioned that because recent studies have shown that chemicals in personal care products do enter the blood stream in very high detectable amounts. |
| Of course, almost all of our products are rich in wonderful organic pure oils that are both good for the skin and you can see how that would affect the large intestine.
Minka: Then they are made from seeds and they are all rich with that composition. There is definitely a connection there.
Mike: Is your product considered raw or low temperature processed or cold-pressed?
Minka: We use all cold-pressed oils whenever possible just like we use organic ingredients whenever possible. Unfortunately, it is not completely possible to get some Chinese herbs organically. |
| Everything really moisturizes and nourishes the skin, leaving it silky smooth.
Mike: What about the issue of there being a lot of products in the marketplace right now that claim to be natural or organic? What have you found to be true in your investigations of other so-called natural products in the marketplace?
Minka: My name is Minka Robinson and I am from Santa Barbara. I am the co-founder of Golden Path Alchemy. One of the reasons we started our company and why we started the lines is because we were so disillusioned with the natural products that were on the market. |
| I am here with Ashley Beckman of Golden Path Alchemy who has a unique line of natural skin care and personal care products. This company is brand new, only three months old. Thanks for joining me today Ashley. Tell us about what you have here and why it is unique and interesting to the natural health marketplace.
Ashley: Sure, we have a whole line of botanical alchemy products. We use a blend of essential oils that are therapeutic grade certified. |

Keep your tissue flexible for better performance
You'll notice that people who drink a lot of water and do not consume dehydrating beverages such as soda, coffee and sugary drinks tend to have much better skin. They also have healthier large intestines, even though you cannot see that from the outside. Another interesting similarity between the two organs is that they both benefit from nutrition which allows them to operate with a healthy amount of tissue flexibility. Minerals like silica and certain types of nutrients such as collagen can also help in this process. |

If you have darker skin, you are supposed to be living closer to the equator, as your skin is designed to block the excessive radiation that comes from living there. If you have fair skin, you have a body designed to live further away from the equator in a place where you're not getting much sunlight, because fair skin doesn't block the sun and allows more radiation to penetrate your skin, which results in the production of vitamin D. Vitamin D, of course, is an essential nutrient for preventing prostate cancer, breast cancer, osteoporosis and many other disorders. |

Wherever possible, consumers are advised to get their vitamin C from a whole food source, and not to confuse synthetic vitamin C (ascorbic acid) with the real thing from plants (which is full spectrum vitamin C that goes way beyond ascorbic acid). A good source of whole food vitamins is Botani (http://www.alohabay. |

Alzheimer's drugs for Congress
The FDA has approved a new Alzheimer's patch that delivers brain-saving drugs through the skin. The agency was so thrilled by the performance of the drug that they not only approved it, they MANDATED its use on anyone with poor brain function. A massive shipment of the skin patches are now on their way to the U.S. Senate, House of Representatives and the White House where it is hoped that the drug-laced skin patches will either restore normal brain function or remove some politicians from office due to toxic side effects. |

While this limited thinking about the permeability of human skin may have provided a convenient excuse for not testing these chemicals a few decade ago, we now know that chemicals that come into contact with skin are, in fact, absorbed through the skin and enter the blood stream. Once in the blood, they enter the liver and other organs where they can disrupt normal cellular processes, damage DNA and interfere with healthy hormone function.
Typical American consumers carry over 300 synthetic chemicals in their hearts, livers, brains and kidneys. |
