He came to believe that this was a special wavelength in regard to the body, and he soon made a connection to the photo-repair mechanisms by which cells repair the damage done to them by ulttaviolet rays from the sun and other sources. Photo-repair is a well verified but little understood process, and Popp made the daring intellectual leap of positing that to conduct photo-repair, cells must themselves be emitting light. As he probed farther, he was shocked to discover that there is one wavelength at which the cellular photo-repair process works most efficiently. |

Popp also knew that patients with a skin condition called xeroderma pigmentosum eventually die of skin cancer because their photo-repair system doesn't work and so doesn't repair solar damage. Popp was shocked to learn that photo-repair works most efficiently at 380 nanometres - the very same wavelength the cancer-causing compounds would react to and scramble.
This was where Popp made his logical leap. Nature was too perfect for this to be simple coincidence. If the carcinogens only react to this wavelength, it must somehow be linked to photo-repair. |
| It is very well known from biological laboratory experiments that if you can blast a cell with UV light so that 99 per cent of the cell, including its DNA, is destroyed, you can almost entirely repair the damage in a single day just by illuminating the cell with the same wavelength of a very weak intensity. To this day, conventional scientists don't understand this phenomenon, but nobody has disputed it. Popp also knew that patients with a skin condition called xeroderma pigmentosum eventually die of skin cancer because their photo-repair system doesn't work and so doesn't repair solar damage. |

As one researcher puts it: "When our energy reserves are continually channeled into the stress pathway, there isn't enough energy left to support regenerative processes that replenish the resources we've lost, repair damage to our bodies, or protect us against disease. ...The repair and replacement of most kinds of cells is diminished; bone repair and wound healing is slowed, and levels of circulating immune cells and antibodies fall. ...In high levels the stress hormone Cortisol kills our brain cells. |

In this case they might prescribe water absorbing crystals that you would spread around the house to absorb this excess water, completely ignoring the integrity of the roof, as well as the need to actually repair the roof and not allow water to drip through it. If you said to them, "well, maybe we should think about repairing the roof," they would say, "The problem is clearly the water -- you can see the water, here's a measurement of the water." They might even say if you don't aggressively treat this excessive water, you're going to end up flooding your entire house. |

•Lidoderm. Put a patch, available by prescription, on the joint. It contains the anesthetics Novocain and Lidocaine. Wear it for approximately 12 hours a day (one patch lasts that long) for two to six weeks. For a large area, some people may use as many as four patches (the package says three). Many patients experience a 30% to 50% decrease in pain within two weeks. |

Unless you diagnose the problem with the dam and repair it, then you will never stop the leaking water.
The same is true with cancer. Unless you address the underlying integrity of the immune system and the body's self-repairing technology, all you're doing is chasing symptoms. You can treat all the cancer tumors in the world and still do nothing to actually help the cancer patient solve his or her underlying problem. |

Remember that red fruits and their concentrates repair damage to your DNA. This is crucial because once you repair the damage to the DNA, the cell can regain much, if not all, of its previous functioning.

Obviously, you have to be able to repair your genetics. The growth factors come into play there. There are organisms out there -- little bacteria that you can hit with radiation that would kill anybody else -- and they will so quickly repair their genes.
You have to have the nutrients in your body -- those growth factors -- to do that regeneration. As you know, chlorella can quadruple itself in 20 hours. I do not know anything else that can do that. That is indicative of the growth factors. In Japan, when they gave them to children and young animals, they grew like crazy. |

The higher the body's metabolism the more efficient the immune system and the quicker the body can heal and repair itself.
It's like a carpenter doing some repairs on your house. If he is tired and slow, it will take a long time to do the job, but if he is energetic and anxious to complete the task it will take a fraction of the time. When metabolism is functioning at a higher level our cells are like an energized carpenter anxious to complete the repairs while depressed metabolism causes the cells to work slower, and consequently healing and repair progress slower. |

More recently, UCLA scientists performing a lab study noted that naringenin, a flavonoid found in grapefruit and oranges, helped repair damaged DNA in cancer cells. This knack for repairing DNA may also help prevent cancer because it is thought to prevent rapid spreading of mutations in these cells.
Caution: Grapefruit may interact with some drugs for cholesterol, blood pressure, heart rhythm, depression, anxiety, HIV, immunosuppression, allergies, impotence, and seizures, possibly due to its natural phytochemicals called furanocoumarins. |

By deactivating enzymes and hormones, free radicals can interfere with many bodily functions, including the body's ability to grow, to repair itself, and to respond to stress.
4. When free radicals damage a cell's genetic material and alter the DNA code that governs the reproduction and function of that cell, many serious problems can develop. By some estimates, each molecule of DNA may endure as many as 10,000 free radical "hits" every day, most of which are repaired, but each of which can increase the risk of precancerous changes to the cell. |

The longer life expectancy of larger mammals is at least partially due to their superior ability to repair DNA. But that explains, at least in part, how we live longer; it doesn't explain why we big creatures developed those superior repair mechanisms.
One theory suggests that there is a direct connection between shorter life expectancy and greater external threats. I'm not just saying that the risk of being eaten reduces an animal's life expectancy, although it does, of course. Essentially, animals with a greater risk of being eaten evolve to live shorter lives—even if they aren't eaten. |

This ability of kiwi to protect against cellular damage was confirmed in yet another study in Carcinogenesis that was even more promising: In the Carcinogenesis study, not only did the kiwifruit limit the amount of oxidative damage to DNA, but it also stimulated cellular repair of the damage that did occur! Even better, the effect of kiwifruit on DNA damage and repair was seen when it was simply added to a normal diet, and the effects were seen across a whole group of volunteers and in a very short time! |

Hospital beds were overflowing with injured residents. Auto repair businesses were booming so much that most of the city council members decided to either open their own car repair shops or invest in existing ones.
Week after week, more and more residents of Allopath were injured, and their cars were repeatedly damaged. Money piled into the pockets of the car repair shops, hospitals, tow truck companies and car parts retailers.
The town economic advisor, observing this sharp increase in economic activity, announced that Allopath was booming. |

Vitamin C Vital to repairing many of the body's systems, vitamin C is also the single most important co-factor for repair of collagen breaks in your blood vessels and skin. If you want smooth arteries, smooth skin, and a reduced risk for sunburn, be sure to take more vitamin C. It also boosts other micronutrients. For example, without it beta-carotene can actually act as a dangerous pro-oxidant instead of a beneficial antioxidant. Animals that can manufacture vitamin C, which humans cannot, produce much more of it during times of stress and infection. |

At the same time, there's never any real evolutionary pressure to evolve mechanisms to repair DNA errors that occur over time, because most individuals in the species don't live long enough to experience those errors. You wouldn't buy an extended warranty on an iPod if you were only going to keep it for a week. On the flip side, a species that is more dominant in its environment, and that can continue to reproduce for most of its life, will gain an advantage in repairing accumulated DNA errors. If it lives longer, it can reproduce more. |

Chlorella: Japanese studies have found Chlorella Growth Factor (CGF) to be especially effective in speeding up cell growth, a major factor in the natural repair of wounds. Various other studies reveal CGF helps heal ulcers and promote bone and muscle growth. When taken internally, it also acts as an immune-booster. Topically, it functions as a protective cleansing compound for skin.
Chlorella is found in numerous superfood products, including Rejuvenate! from Health Products Distributors, Inc. at http://www.IntegratedHealth. |

Realizing the consequences, a burly old man who owned a local repair shop jumped to his feet and said, "If we build these stop signs, and traffic accidents go down, I'll have to fire most of my workers!"
It was at that moment that most of the townspeople realized there own jobs were at stake. If stop signs were built, nearly everyone would be unemployed. They all had jobs in emergency response services, car repair shops, hospitals and teflon coating maintenance. Some were now sales representatives of the roadaceuticals company. |

Treat the problem, not the symptom
Naturopaths aren't treating the water -- the symptom -- and this confuses conventional medicine to a great degree. They don't understand how someone can treat cancer without treating the tumor itself. Because conventional docs think the symptom is the disease or the disorder. But naturopathic medicine sees the cancer tumor as only a symptom of a much deeper problem. |

EFAs are responsible for skin repair, moisture content, and overall flexibility, but because the body cannot produce its own EFAs, they must be obtained through the diet.
The typical American diet is overabundant in omega-6 fatty acids found in baked goods and grains, and lacking in omega-3s, found in cold-water fish such as salmon and mackerel, as well as flaxseeds and safflower oil. Simply balancing the intake of omega-3s with omega-6s can result in smoother, younger-looking skin. |
