Conventional medicine (also called "Western medicine" or "modern medicine"), you see, is a system of medical profiteering that destroys both patients and the health care practitioners attempting to help them (doctors, nurses and other health care professionals largely despise America's current health care system, much like patients do). |

I'd much rather have health care left up to incompetent bureaucrats than scheming profiteers who have no ethics. The very idea that drug companies and insurance companies are right now profiting from disease and sickness is bewildering. Shouldn't health care be more concerned about the health of the people than the profits of the wealthy elite?
As I said in a previous article, no nation that neglects the health of its people can expect to have a future. |
| Isn't it time we took back our health care and investigated, arrested and prosecuted all the criminals who have been running this health care scam on us for the last few decades? (We can start by making arrests at the FDA, by the way, for their crimes against humanity. See my article The lawlessness of the FDA, Big Pharma immunity, and crimes against humanity for more details.

| Only the United States remains steeped in health care corruption, stuck in a system of greed, run by corporations who are out to make a profit, not to make people well. (And disease pays big bucks, by the way. That's why conventional medicine today has no real interest in preventing disease or curing disease. There's only a focus on treating symptoms and keeping patients addicted to pharmaceuticals for life.)
NewsTarget fully supports universal health care. |

Moore is an independent thinker who simply refuses to follow the crowd, and with this film, he's doing the job that the American people should have been doing all along -- questioning the sanity of our health care system. But sadly, the truth is that most Americans are sheeple who just follow the herd and do what they're told. A recent poll revealed that nearly 45% of Americans still trust the FDA! That's astounding, given that I've solidly established the Food and Drug Administration is far more dangerous to the health and safety of the American people than all the terrorists in the world. |

This July 4th, whether you live in America or not, I encourage you to continue the great tradition of rejecting tyranny and embracing freedom by throwing off the shackles of conventional medicine and seeking, once and for all, a system of health care that actually cares for your health. |
| The system has failed America, and this failure is obvious in the simple fact that while Americans pay the highest prices in the world for health care services, they simultaneously suffer the highest rates in the world of preventable degenerative disease (like cancer, diabetes, Alzheimer's, osteoporosis, depression, etc.) In no other industry would people pay far more, receive far worse results, and call it "the best in the world!" It boggles the mind that anyone still has faith in conventional medicine today. |
| How to declare your own independence from health care tyranny
The good news in all this is that you no longer have to suffer under the delusional, dogmatic system of medicine practiced in America today. You can choose a different system of medicine -- one that actually works to prevent disease and help you heal. Naturopathic medicine is that system. |
| In all, declaring your freedom from America's failed health care system is the single most important thing you can do for your health. To learn more about how to join millions of other people who have already done this, keep reading the articles on this site. Also, please remember: Never stop taking pharmaceuticals abruptly. You'll need to work with your naturopathic physician to slowly wean yourself off pharmaceuticals, only under the supervision of a qualified naturopathic health practitioner. |
| Today's health care system is nothing short of a medical monopoly -- many even consider it a medical dogma -- and it is achieved through the censorship of alternative and the aggressive commercialization of medical products and services that most patients don't even need.
This is no casual accusation. Read the articles on this website covering the FDA, Big Pharma and conventional medicine to learn the documented truth of how the profiteering corporations that dominate conventional medicine actually seek to exploit patients for profit rather than helping them heal. |

Participants include the California Nurses Association/National Nurses Organizing Committee, Physicians for a National Health Program, New York State Nurses Association, Massachusetts Nurses Association, United Steelworkers (USW) health care Workers Council, Pennsylvania Association of Staff Nurses and Allied Professionals, United Nurses and Allied Professionals (Rhode Island), Communications Workers of America, and the New England Nurses Association. The Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions is also participating, with other groups to be announced. |
| It's interesting that even nurses and health practitioners are fed up with the current greed-based health care system that operates in America today. Doctors are buried under insurance paperwork (which takes up about 70% - 80% of the staff at a given clinic or hospital), insurance companies play the "we won't pay" game with everybody, and the people end up paying for insurance that won't cover them when they need it anyway. |

Although I'd love to see a woman in the White House, I'm not sure I'd want a health care dictator in cahoots with Big Pharma calling the shots on national health care reform.
No serious health care reform proposals
The truth is that no politician other than Rep. Ron Paul has any real plan for health care reform. No one is talking about getting people OFF prescription drugs and onto disease prevention diets, healthful lifestyles and low-cost nutritional supplementation. |

Cuba where they received free, quality health care in a modern Cuban hospital.
The message is hard to miss: Cuba takes better care of its citizens than America does. In fact, Cuba is willing to take care of a few American citizens that America abandoned! That kind of "in-yo-face" embarrassment to U.S. officials isn't appreciated much in police-state America these days, where practically anyone who dares question the wisdom of the government is branded a terrorist. |
| Moore is clearly being targeted not merely because he took some 9/11 heroes to Cuba and got them health care, but because he dared to make it all public. Humiliating the King is a quick way to find your head on a chopping block. Just ask all the scientists who publicly disagree with the Bush Administration's hopelessly politicized view on climate change... |

I've offered many suggestions in a popular article, The health care reform legislation that Congress should pass, but won't. Lawmakers, you see, have no interest in actually saving America from financial demise. They're only concerned about the next election, and raising campaign reelection funds means kow-towing to the interests of the powerful corporations that really run Washington.
Personally, I don't see that meaningful reform is possible under the current system of politics in America. |
| We have a health crisis in this country, and it's going to take genuinely radical reforms to turn this around and save America from a financial wipeout exacerbated by runaway health care spending.
What's missing from SiCKO
The material that's in SiCKO is hard-hitting, and it accomplishes what it sets out to do. But there's something missing from the film: A serious discussion about how a nation can prevent disease using nutrition, medicinal herbs, sunshine, clean water, avoidance of toxic chemicals, smart dietary choices, banning the advertising of junk foods and pharmaceuticals, and so on. |

REPPED: Want a real solution to skyrocketing health care costs? Forget about all the so-called "cost saving" schemes dreamed up by politicians, drug companies and HMOs. All they do is create new levels of bureaucracy that don't address the real problems of why health care costs are so high in the first place. In this article, we'll look at how to fundamentally cut health care costs by 90% nationwide -- while simultaneously enhancing the quality of life for all Americans -- through a program of education and disease prevention that starts with changing the way doctors are educated. |

Diabetes rates would plummet, mental health would greatly improve, birth defects would be sharply reduced and, most of all, the national health care bill would be slashed to a fraction of current costs.
And that, of course, is exactly why these ideas can never be allowed to pass. The profit-minded medical industry would lose billions. Hundreds of thousands of people who depend on the continuation of disease to provide job security would find themselves out of work. |
| End FDA corruption and radically reform this criminal agency
Really cleaning up health care requires some courageous action against the criminals running the Food and Drug Administration. Aside from blatant conflicts of interest, the FDA has been caught red handed burying negative drug study trials, colluding with drug companies to approve known dangerous drugs, whitewashing scientific data to appease Big Pharma, censoring its own drug safety scientists, conducting armed raids on vitamin shops in order to intimidate natural health industry proponents, and far worse. |
| You know, the kind of legislation that essentially eliminates the sick care industry (conventional medicine) and starts giving Americans the information and resources they need to actually prevent disease in the first place. And since any real progress in health care legislation is nothing but a pipe dream (there are way too many jobs and investors tied up in the continued diseasification of the American people to expect any real reforms), I thought I'd offer my own version of that pipe dream for your general amusement. |
| Unless you actually prevent disease and fundamentally improve the health of the American people, no structure of health care coverage will save us from a near-certain future: a mutant population, trapped in a system of disease proliferation that will ultimately cause the collapse of the U.S. economy and the end of America as we know it.
Of course, you can always "race for the cure" if you're really stupid enough to think that running around in circles, raising money for Big Pharma via a corrupt non-profit organization, is going to solve this problem. |

It's very clear that the system of health care we have in our country does not work.
Over 40 percent of our population has no health insurance. Approximately 99 percent of our population (and the vast majority of licensed physicians) remains completely and utterly ignorant of the relationship between nutrition and health. In this country, we continue to subsidize sugar and genetically-engineered corn on a grand scale. |

When there are some people taking care of their health and avoiding smoking, why should those who smoke demand that everybody else pay for their health care costs?
My suggestion is that we keep cigarettes legal, but we create a new policy that says those who engage in cigarette smoking are no longer covered by Medicare, Medicaid, or private health insurance. I know, it's pretty radical, and it will never, of course, become law, because it sounds too harsh. But let me explore a couple of interesting points on this so you can get a feel for why this is at least worth discussing. |
| Because when they get hurt, it's everybody else who financially subsidizes their health care costs.
But there is a valid point in the libertarian argument: we are supposed to be living in a free society, and in a free society, shouldn't people be trusted to make their own decisions? It's not right, the argument goes, for the government to act like the parents of individuals and force people to avoid certain products or ingest other products according to whatever health standards the government has set up. |

In 2001, the cost of health care in the United States exceeded the $1 trillion mark, and in 2004, total health care spending amounted to $1.9 trillion. That represented 16 percent of the nation's GDP, and there is no end to this trend in sight. Healthcare spending is projected to double to $4 trillion over the next decade.
Good health care cannot be measured by how much money is being spent on treating symptoms of disease. Treating the symptoms of an illness inevitably requires further treatments, because the origins of disease are ignored and become worse if left unattended. |
