Health roundup: Organ harvesting, kidney profits and Haitian headhunters (satire)

If that unfolds, who will carry HER head? Aside from the strangeness of it all, why is it illegal to carry a head in a bag? Isn't this the exact kind of activity the organ transplant industry engages in all the time? In recent revelations, in fact, it has been discovered that organs used for transplants right here in the USA have been ripped from the bodies of presumably unwilling cadavers. Search for "Mastromarino body parts" on Google to see for yourself. That's different, you might say. Organs for transplants are carried on ice in a medical cooler.
Hot dogs are made from cow parts that I guarantee you are every bit as gross as a human head. Search Google for "Advanced Meat Recovery machine" to see what I mean, if you dare. And how about fur coats? Isn't fur a body part? Shouldn't people who wear fur coats be arrested for WEARING body parts? At least the Haitian woman wasn't actually wearing the human head. That would have been really weird. Almost as weird as wearing the fur of another animal at a time in the history of civilization when, clearly, we have mastered the complex science of textiles.

I have been rubbing it under my eyebrows, on my temples, on my forehead and behind my ears and the edge of my skull around the sides and back for the sinus headaches and congestion (being careful not to get it into the eyes though) plus the top of my spine and into the back of my head for the ME headaches. Also I broke out in boils a few weeks ago and have been rubbing it on them. The boils have been very painful the first few days L.H.

In a nutshell, Andrew von Eschenbach, M.D, head of the FDA, has a long history of involvement with the cancer-for-profit industry. His resume includes being head of the National Cancer Institute, where he routinely diverted funding from solid cancer science into the pockets of his friends in Big Bio Tech. He was also a lead player in an old boy network called C-Change, a group of the most powerful vested interests in biotechnology and cancer research -- which is headed by George Bush Sr. and his wife, Barbara.

Okay, so what if this Haitian woman had her human head good luck charm buried in a picnic cooler under a ham sandwich? Do you suppose it all would have been fine with customs, then? Is there a law against carrying body parts around? Look, I'm not condoning this practice, but there sure seems like a double standard here. Don't some people carry a rabbit's foot for good luck? That's a dead body part, too, and I don't see customs officials arresting people for having rabbit's feet. How about travelers carrying hot dogs?

Instead, the HydraBrush has articulating top and bottom brush heads that move back and forth in a brushing motion, and instead of you moving the brush head across your teeth, you simply bite down on the dual head and allow the HydraBrush to do the work for you. It's not only convenient and very effective, it's also a big time saver, I discovered. It brushes six surfaces at the same time, essentially. When you bite down on the brush head, it is brushing the inside, top side, and outside surfaces on both the top and bottom teeth -- so that's a total of six surfaces.

The most common caffeine withdrawal symptom is a throbbing and/or pressure headache, usually located at the temples but occasionally at the back of the head or around the eyes. A vague muscular headache often follows. Of course, caffeine can cure these symptoms; but this is not the answer. Rather, we need to adhere to dietary guidelines and supplements to help with this and other withdrawal problems. It is best to taper off caffeine before going on a cleanse as the withdrawal (mainly headaches) can be very uncomfortable. The Detox Diet works well for this transition.

Some children develop racing thoughts, "electric head," or a feeling of lightning bolts in the head several weeks into treatment with SSRIs. This side effect can be associated with suicidal thoughts, and appears to be more common in children and young adults. It may be a form of what is called akathisia, an internal restlessness associated with psychotropic medication use, which can be treated successfully with benzodiazepine medications like diazepam (Valium).

In cell membranes, the hexagonal head of vitamin E stays near the surface of the membrane. The tail of vitamin E is deeply implanted into the cell membrane. When the tail of vitamin E is oxidized by a free radical, it moves to the surface where the head of the vitamin E can donate hydrogen. In this way, vitamin E pulls free radicals out of fatty membranes for neutralization. This vitamin E cannot perform its antioxidant function a second time until it is regenerated. The ability of vitamin E to perform as an antioxidant can be restored by the ascorbate form of vitamin C or by coenzyme Q.

Miller recently admitted how, when the agency head went on vacation, he convinced the acting head to sign off on the approval process, and expeditiously rubber-stamped the approval. All the drugs that have received speedier approval were products of "fast-tracking" — a procedure the government implemented 10 to 14 years after the advent of human insulin. Insulin was the first biotech drug approved by FDA.

The Kunitz inhibitor is a big molecule with one active site— known as a "head"—that grabs trypsin, the object of its affection, so quickly and tightly that trypsin loses the freedom to do the one thing it does best—digest protein. The second type of soybean protease inhibitor was discovered by Bowman in 1944 and described by Birk in 1961. The Bowman-Birk is a runt compared to the Kunitz type, but makes up for its small stature with a two-headed structure and a bit of a split personality, with one head indulging a taste for trypsin, the other for its cousin chymotrypsin.

Vitamin E neutralizes free radicals by donating a hydrogen atom from the hydroxyl group (HO) on the hexagonal head of vitamin E, as seen in Figure 5-4. Donation of hydrogen to a free radical is easiest for the alpha-tocopherol and gamma-tocopherol forms and slightly harder for the beta-tocopherol and delta-tocopherol forms. In cell membranes, the hexagonal head of vitamin E stays near the surface of the membrane. The tail of vitamin E is deeply implanted into the cell membrane.
