Other Uses
In ancient Greece poppy was dedicated to Nix, goddess of night, to Thanatos, god of death, and his twin brother Hypnos, god of sleep, and to Morpheus, son of Hypnos and god of dreams. The seeds were offered to the dead to assure them a good rest and peaceful sleep. The flower is used on Veterans Day as a symbol of the fallen.
The seeds make good bird food.
Opium is made by scoring the unripe seed capsule and collecting the latex that exudes, which is then roasted and fermented.
In folkloric tradition, poppy seeds are eaten and carried to promote fertility, luck, and prosperity. |

Why I Am Legend Echoes a Dangerous Truth in Modern Medicine
I Am Legend should, I believe, serve as a doorway through which we can all ask ourselves very serious questions about modern medicine mucking around with human DNA. |

Cousens: It's a big thread because nature is a reflection of god. Nature is not god, but it's a reflection of god, and we're taught in the cabal that god is like the hand in the glove of nature.
Mike: What a great metaphor.
Cousens: It's taught that we are put here to study the planet and thereby know god. Now, that's one aspect. That's more mental, but nature also has a tremendous silence: You gaze at a tree and take in the silence of that tree; you gaze at a flower and you take in the energy of that flower, so you're taking in nature that way. |

My favorite is "God bless America," which implies two rather bizarre ideas: 1) that god blesses war, and 2) god shouldn't bless anybody else. I don't claim to know the mind of god, but I doubt the atrocities being committed against the Iraqi people in the name of the United States today are worthy of any divine blessing. To name just one such atrocity, the widespread use of depleted uranium in ordinance used by the U.S. |

The nose had a prominent role in the Bible: according to the book of Genesis, god created humankind by blowing the "soul of life" into Adam's nostrils. Later, Jacob asked god to send humans a sign so they would know when they were fatally ill, giving them enough time to repent before dying. Jacob's wish was granted: god created the sneeze. No wonder ancient Israelites believed sneezing portended a medical disaster. On the other hand, Aristotle and his fellow ancient Greeks believed a sneeze was a good omen.
No strangers to aesthetics, ancient cultures knew the value of a good-looking nose. |

You know, when I was told that I was going to die, when I was told that medicine couldn't help me, when medicine failed, and when I went from 185 pounds and healthy to 104 pounds in a wheelchair and had lost everything that the world calls important, I had one thing -- I had my faith in god. I knew that with God's power I could become what he wanted me to be, so I pretty much gave up.
You know, giving up isn't always a bad thing. I surrendered, and I said, "You know what? I'm going to get off my agenda. I'm going to follow what god has for my life. |

I find it interesting, because we live in a time where there's more disease, more illness and more people looking for answers; but, always in nature -- it's like god has set it up this way -- the answer is always there when the problem is created.
Mike: Nature has the wisdom, and it has the answers. Ask the questions and let nature give us the answers, because they're always found there, especially in plants.

The FDA believes it is above god. Any person who has ever dealt with the FDA will confirm this. The arrogance of the FDA is so extreme that if the agency could find a way to actually regulate god, it would no doubt have done so by now. Because prayer heals people; physically, emotionally and spiritually. It helps people recover from surgery and it calms troubled minds. Prayer is good medicine, and because it is helpful to people and thus competes with conventional medicine, the FDA no doubt hopes to figure out a way to ban it entirely. |

They think they're the smartest people in the universe -- smarter than Mother Nature, smarter than god. And in fact, they're going to play god with your body using weird, freaky gene therapy experiments. They're putting human genes into plants now, trying to clone everything under the sun. They think they are god.
Real scientists are humble
Now a real scientist, as I said, is a humble servant of nature. A true scientist is curious and wants to find out how things work, and a true scientist, by the way, does not have a predefined set of filters in place that automatically reject new ideas. |

In other words, it is now the FDA, not god, that grants permission to conduct religious ceremony in the United States. And the FDA believes it overrides god.
Importantly, the idea of "faith" does not stand up to the FDA's so-called scientific scrutiny. So a church can never prove that Holy water actually works, or that prayer beads have any scientific merit, and therefore the FDA can declare them all to be "unscientific and unapproved" devices, further discrediting them. |
| Because god is the next target. If you believe in religious freedom, then you cannot simultaneously support the FDA.
The Food and Drug Administration is, quite literally, the enemy of freedom (including religious freedom), and giving money to the drug companies by buying prescription medications is much like doing business with the devil. If we continue to support these industries, we will one day wake up and find ourselves imprisoned in a diseased, God-less nation of tyrants who prey upon degenerative disease to shore up their own power and profits. |

You know what the difference is between god and doctors?
God doesn't think he's a doctor.
These days, instead of doctors simply being full of nonsense, they are suddenly a very real danger to your personal freedom. Before, they were just peddling health nonsense. Now they hold the keys to your freedom and the custody of your children. Refuse to go along with new mandatory vaccination programs in New Jersey, for example, and you can be arrested, imprisoned, charged with a crime and have your children kidnapped by Child Protective Services. |

Priapism was named after Priapus, the Greek god of gardening and fertility, and son of Aphrodite. So homely a baby was he that the gods tossed him off Mt. Olympus and he was raised among the nymphs and satyrs. One day his penis grew so large and heavy he couldn't move.To add insult to injury, he had a permanent erection but couldn't ejaculate.

Saturn, also known as Cronus, the oldest god and lawgiver, teacher, tester, and timekeeper, represents highest achievement and perfect justice. The aging process and the health of the bones, teeth, joints, bladder, skin, knees, vagus nerve, spleen, endocardium, left auricle, anterior pituitary lobe, and blood constituents are under the dominion of Saturn.
Saturn was considered the god of time by the Romans, so slow-growing plants are under its dominion, as are long-lived woody perennials, as the planet takes thirty years to complete its journey. |

The Old Testament banned Jews from saying the name of god. In fact, the name itself-Yahweh-was nearly unpronounceable. But some argue that without realizing it, the first and last breaths (and many of the other ones in between) that we take in life are actually the name of god. Take a deep diaphragmatic breath in as you inspire the sound "yah," and then push it out all the way until you wheeze the sound "weh." Perhaps spiritul guidance is closer than we think. pands during normal shallow breathing, that stimulates the vagus nerve. |

The god of Fire draws the light of vision into our eyes, the god of Earth brings smells to our nose, the Sky god carries sounds to our ears, the Water god carries tastes to our tongue, and the Air god imbues our skin with feeling. Echoing this ancient insight, I believe it is essential to our health and happiness that we learn to protect, nurture, and sharpen our senses. In this chapter we will discuss how to optimize eye health and how to preserve our precious vision.

Walnuts
*
The "Doctrine of Signatures" is a concept in herbalism that's been around for centuries and is based on the idea that god marked everything god created with a sign (signature). The signature was an indication of the item's purpose. According to the Doctrine of Signatures, since the walnut looks just like a human brain, its purpose is to support that organ. This just might be one case of modern science supporting centuries-old wisdom, because walnuts—like fish are truly "brain food." Read on.
