In the past, I have eaten quite a bit of soy, including soy protein, but my favorite protein source at this point is actually rice protein, because I think it's a cleaner protein. Occasionally I will use high-quality whey protein, but I continue to notice that it's not as "clean" a protein source as rice protein. I'm definitely not going to be buying TVP chunks any more. If the rabbits won't eat them, that's scary. Rabbits will eat practically anything, including cacti, old fruit, dried lettuce, and vegetable scraps. But they won't eat textured vegetable protein, at least not in my back yard. |

People aren't getting high quality protein because they think the only place to get protein is from beef and red meat, when in fact superfoods like spirulina offer much higher quality protein. Soy and rice proteins are also much higher quality proteins. In fact, there are many plant proteins that are actually healthier proteins for human beings, but are not being adequately consumed by the American population. People tend to turn to meat and milk, and those are in my opinion the worst sources of protein if you wish to maintain long-term health. |

In this review, the Health Ranger offers a brief review of the Jay Robb company, its founder and product line:
Finding a good protein supplement is more difficult than you might think. First there's the choice of sweetener. Most of the popular protein products on the market are sweetened with refined sugars (obesity, anyone?), chemical sweeteners (toxicity) or sugar alcohols (diarrhea). But Jay Robb's protein products have no such sweeteners. They use the natural herb stevia. And somehow they manage to make even egg protein (which is usually rather boring) taste good. |

| Jay's whey protein, for example, comes from cows not treated with rBGH (synthetic hormones), and I learned from talking to Jay this morning that he's working hard on introducing organic protein products in both categories (organic whey and organic egg protein). Once those are available, they will become the obvious choice for consumers seeking organic, natural protein products with no junk and no chemical additives. (We'll report on these products here at NewsTarget as soon as they're announced.)
Jay's products are also known for what they don't contain. |

Another dietary factor in these behavioral disorders, it turns out, is a lack of quality protein. Being a person who eats very little meat (and never red meat), I use Jay Robb's products myself to add protein to my diet. I personally prefer the egg white protein, since I consume no dairy products (including whey), but for those who consume dairy, you can't go wrong choosing Jay Robb's whey protein products.
Five stars. Enthusiastically recommended. Check it out at www.JayRobb. |

I personally use Jay Robb products on a regular basis and they have become my top recommended protein products for anyone active in fitness or strength training. Given all the junk protein products available on the market these days, I think it's important to recognize and support individuals like Jay who are committed to making high-grade products that actually enhance health at multiple levels: Physical, emotional and spiritual. There's more to Jay's protein products than just the powder! |

Yet look at all the processed soy protein found in protein bars, cereals and frozen pizza. It's even used in burgers at fast food chains. Why are we all eating what rabbits refuse to eat? Could it be that desert rabbits know something we don't? Maybe they know that textured vegetable protein isn't really food.
It's something to seriously consider. If starving animals, whose very survival depends on finding enough calories in a harsh environment, won't eat this textured vegetable protein, then maybe we should take a closer look at why.
After three days, by the way, the TVP finally disappeared. |

Mike Adams: What about hidden sources of milk, because there are a lot of products that have milk or milk proteins -- I know a lot of protein bars, for example are made with milk proteins.
Robert Cohen: Well, sure. You've got to see the word "whey," you say "no way!" You see the word "casein," "sodium caseinate," "calcium caseinate" -- that's the milk powder protein that you don't want in your body. When you take milk and you get rid of the fat and you get rid of the water and you're just left with protein, and basically they're blood proteins, serumalbumin, milk protein, 90% of it is casein. |
