For your reference, here are the two letters received from the Almond Board of California: One on april 4th, and the second modified version on april 6th. (Bolding has been added for emphasis.)
April 4th letter from the Almond Board
The Almond Board of California, representing the California almond industry, has consumers’ health and safety as its number one priority as it implements an industry-wide pasteurization program. The purpose of this plan is to ensure that consumers are provided with safe, wholesome food products. |

To find out, Friedman and Rosenman and two colleagues studied forty accountants for six months: three months before april 15 (the date when tax returns must be filed in the United States) and three months after that date. Every two weeks, these physicians measured their subjects' cholesterol levels and the speed with which their blood clotted (rapid clotting was considered a risk factor for heart disease). Sure enough, by late March and early april, both had increased significantly. Indeed, the researchers reported that the accountants' blood "began clotting at a dangerously accelerated rate. |

The father related a most incredible story: Soon after starting Accutane, his son told the family that the deceased rocker Jim Morrison was talking to him through monkeys and telling him to commit suicide on april 15, 2004. When the boy finished relating the story, his parents checked him into a locked psychiatric facility on april 14, 2004, a sound decision in my professional opinion. After he stopped taking Accutane his psychosis and suicidal thinking stopped, and he continues to be free of symptoms to this day. |

As of april 2006, the American Heart Association's (AHA) Nutrition Committee no longer recommends eating soy to lower cholesterol. The FDA is currently reviewing its policy on soy health claims. And a recent article by Harvard Women's Health Watch (April 2006) was titled "Soy: Not So Miraculous?"
The soy associated with the Asian diet is a whole different animal from the soy we've been sold in America as a health food. There, they eat naturally fermented soy foods like tempeh and miso and old-fashioned fermented soy sauce—and they eat way less of it than you might imagine. |

In just one year, between april 2004 and april 2005, this enormous glacier both doubled in speed and simultaneously retreated by 4 kilometres. If other large glaciers begin to go the same way as Helheim and Kangerdlugssuaq -which have now doubled the rate at which they together dump ice in the ocean from 50 to 100 cubic kilometres a year - it could 'pull the plug' on Greenland, Dr Hamilton warned. |

The failed april 21 study suggested the possibility that we needed a certain size "dose" of intention to have an effect. The Transcendental Meditation organization has long held a similar view of meditation—that a certain percentage of regular meditators is required to exert an effect on misery indices such as the crime rate.
It was also evident that our technical problems had interfered with intention. In the March 24 and april 21 experiments, the technical glitches may have caused the experiments to fail. |

Looking at this in yet another way, we know that you can only make vitamin D from april 15 to September 30 in Detroit. That's just 5lA months. But the reality is that few working people take outdoor lunch breaks, and many work five or six days a week. That basically leaves weekends from May to September, because it's usually still too cold in april to expose much skin. This means that someone who lives in Michigan has just forty-eight days of the year to make vitamin D.
Locale isn't the only stumbling block to D production. |

| In 1978, the CPSC finally decided to do something about benzene, trailing the other agencies in regard to this substance as well. In april of that year, it proposed a ban on benzene for all household products, including rubber cement, whether the benzene was added intentionally or was introduced as a contaminant that constituted 0.1 percent or more of the product. According to the CPSC press release, of fifty-two rubber cement makers it had contacted, only one still intentionally added benzene.56 Two years later, in 1980, the CPSC had still not put the proposed ban into force. |
| Then, on the afternoon of 22 april 1915, the winds were favorable at last. The German forces released 1,600 steel cylinders and 4,160 smaller canisters totaling 146 tons of chlorine gas. The first chemical weapon of modern warfare had been implemented.
In a bitter foreshadowing of the marginalized being the first ones gassed, that initial attack fell mainly on the dark-skinned Algerian forces under French command. In the following days, Canadian and British troops were also hit. No respirators were available, although makeshift protective gear was improvised by soaking handkerchiefs in urine. |
| In December 1996, Canada's Lower House of Parliament voted to ban MMT, and in april 1997, Canada's Senate followed suit. Needless to say, Ethyl sued, creatively invoking clauses of the North American Free Trade Agreement and claiming 250 million dollars in damages. By July 1998, faced with a costly legal battle, Canada backed off, re-scinding its ban. Ethyl stock jumped by more than 6 percent. MMT is still pumping in Canada—with a concentration of up to eighteen milligrams of metallic manganese equivalent per liter of gasoline.121 In South America, China, and Europe, MMT use is also widespread. |

On Monday, april 30th, the Senate is expected to vote on the FDA Evilization Act of 2007 (oops, I mean the "Revitalization Act"). This is a bill that has some good points (such as banning advertising on new drugs until they're on the market for two years) but also contains some extremely dangerous provisions that have been exposed by Byron Richards, an author and nutritional supplement formulator who has been working to protect health freedom for decades. |

Many of these remaining people may still want to submit comments, but may not be able to do so by april 30, 2007, a stated deadline for comments. This would extend to period until May 28, 2007. |

Researchers at Ohio State University report that a derivative of vitamin E causes the death of cancer cells. Vitamin E succinate, available as a dietary supplement, causes cancer cells to die off without toxicity or harm to healthy cells. This has been known for some time, but now the mechanism is better understood. |

This is what I learned on april 12, 1955: That each summer I would no longer be prevented from swimming in public pools; that innocent children no longer would suffer as did Franklin D. Roosevelt; that the March of Dimes was victorious; that no longer would the first association with the word "Jew" be Julius and Ethyl Rosenberg, who had been executed in 1952; that there was a new hero to worship.

When you combine that with a propensity for violence, you create a dangerous recipe for school shootings and other adolescent violence.
In april of this year, I also reported on the link between antidepressant drugs and the Virginia Tech shooting. See http://www.newstarget.com/021798.html

| It all started in Columbine, Colorado, when Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold massacred their way into the history books on april 20, 1999 by killing 12 and wounding 23 people. The mainstream media virtually glorified the event, yet utterly failed to report the connection between violence in young men and treatment with psychiatric drugs. Chemoprevention of breast cancer
Cancer doctors have hopes that, some day, breast cancer can be prevented before it occurs. In 1998, Tamoxifen became the first drug employed to prevent breast cancer.
Women aren't buying into the idea of taking Tamoxifen to prevent breast cancer. They are wary of side effects. [Journal National Cancer Institute 96: 1410-12, 2004]
In a study where women at risk for breast cancer were offered Tamoxifen, only 43% elected to take it, mostly out of fear of side effects. |
