(NaturalNews) Jared Fogle has received 15 years in prison as a sentence for his crimes. Jared Fogle has plummeted from the heights of being a recognized health idol to the depths of a deranged, child sex offender. The former Subway spokesman recently told a judge he should receive the minimum prison sentence, since the minors he had sex with were already 16 and 17 years old anyway. This claim contradicts former remarks made by Fogle, who admitted to having sex with children as young as 10 years old.[1]

In late August, Fogle was charged with possessing and distributing pornography and for having "commercial sex acts with a minor or paying to engage in sexual activity with someone who is younger than 18 years old," according to the Washington Post.[2]

Sex with prostitutes between the ages of 9 and 16

Cindy Mills, head of a Subway restaurant franchise in Pensacola, Florida, said she reached out to Subway's executives to express her concerns about Fogle. After meeting Fogle at a Subway event, Mills admitted to having an affair with him. During that time, Fogle admitted to her that he's had sex with prostitutes between the ages of 9 and 16 in Thailand and the US. He even allegedly requested Mills to set up an appointment with her underage cousin.[3]

Mills informed Jeff Moody, head of the Subway Franchisee Advertising Fund Trust (SFAFT), Subway's global marketing arm, about Fogle's remarks. She also notified two other SFAFT executives during a Subway-sponsored NASCAR event in Phoenix. Mills claimed she didn't originally go to the police out of fear of Fogle's power, money and social influence.[3]

It was Florida journalist Rochelle Herman-Walrond who ultimately brought Fogle down. The 47-year-old reporter wore a wire and secretly recorded conversations she had with Fogle about his disturbing behavior. "He would tell me ages that he was interested in — boy or girl," she said. "He would also indicate the fact that he has done it before and told me in gross detail what transpired."[4]

Fogle apparently became infatuated with Walrond the first day he met her. He expressed his love for her in recorded conversations, during which he made plans for them to have orgies with children. "I was shocked. I was stunned. I couldn't believe what I just heard," Waldron said, when she originally learned about the charges.[1]

Fogle claims his actions aren't as bad as other sex offenders'

Fogle will now spend many years in prison. In addition, he's also mandated to pay a total of $1.4 million, or $100,000 to each of his 14 victims, according to prosecutors. As should come as no surprise to anyone, the sex offender feels no shame for his despicable actions, stating that although it was "inexcusable" he had sex with minors, "these individuals were far older than many victims of this same crime."[4]

The former Subway spokesman also said most of the pornographic pictures and videos in his possession were from a thumb drive given to him by Russell Taylor, a former business partner.

Fogle's lawyer did not highlight the details of his medical diagnosis. Nevertheless, he did meet with doctors who are expected to testify that Fogle "suffers from hypersexuality and alcohol abuse/dependence." The doctors also noted "weak evidence of erotic preference of a heterosexual pedophilia/hebephilia."[1]
