(NaturalNews) During a recent annual meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research, the National Cancer Institute conveyed an alarming prediction based on cancer incidence data, forecasting models and census data: Breast cancer rates are poised to increase 56 percent over the next 15 years.(1)

Philip S. Rosenberg, of the National Cancer Institute, says the spike in cases will undoubtedly "pose 'a huge challenge'" to medical experts. At the same time, he noted, "Although breast cancer overall is going to increase, different subtypes of breast cancer are moving in different directions and on different trajectories." This, he feels, suggests that there will be lower incidences of certain subtypes, something that evokes a sense of optimism in light of the more startling news.(1)

Still, the prediction is certainly less than optimistic; the researchers also noted that ages of women afflicted with breast cancer will shift by 2030. New cases in women ages 70-84, for example, is expected to increase from 24 percent to 35 percent.(1)

While the news is alarming, one has to wonder if it truly is all that surprising.

The Susan G. Komen Foundation: a cause that causes breast cancer

After all, it's no secret that Big Pharma, Big Food and the medical industry are often aligned, with their profits more cared for than the patients themselves. The sick reality is that people's illnesses -- in this case breast cancer patients -- are toyed with since treatments said to improve health are actually destroying individuals' health, making them worse off. But that's okay, you see, because in the end, the medical industry walks away with yet greater profits.

A perfect example of this is the Susan G. Komen Foundation. People sign up for their events in droves, walking in an effort to raise breast cancer awareness and donate money to the cause, yet what they aren't necessarily aware of is that the Komen Foundation owns stock in General Electric. Ah, the pieces of the puzzle start to come together now.(2)

Why does that matter?

In the entire world, GE happens to be one of the largest makers of mammogram machines, which have been linked to causing breast cancer due to the high levels of ionizing (damaging) radiation they emit. In other words, the very machines that are supposed to help, actually play a role in causing the problem they're supposed to shed light on. In turn, a disturbing cycle takes place in which care becomes a twisted facade that ultimately creates horror stories and destroys lives.(2)

Even scientists have warned against the Komen Foundation, saying that their ads are false, riddled with inaccurate and misleading statements pertaining to breast cancer screening. Prestigious medical journals, too, have made it clear that the Komen Foundation skews information that ends up tricking women into thinking early detection is the key to better breast health.(2)

Indeed, the Komen for the Cure Foundation is a scam. Always be sure to do your research when considering donating to a "worthy" cause by checking the site's list of corporate partners. Then do some digging on what medical devices and pharmaceuticals they develop and ask yourself if the relationship is one that sets well with your own health needs and gut instinct.

Healthy ways to fight breast cancer

Rather than rely on races for cures and donating to a cause that causes more health issues than they fight, consider turning to natural alternatives designed to provide your body with healing nutrients.

A diet that shuns foods that are heavily processed, sugary and genetically modified is best for overall health (breast or otherwise); turning to a diet that primarily focuses on organic fruits and vegetables is ideal. Choosing the level of strictness is, of course, entirely up to you.

For example, Janette Murray-Wakelin, a breast cancer survivor who was told she had six months to live, opted to skip traditional medical treatments and chose a raw foods diet. While not necessarily for everyone, her approach involved juicing plenty of Brussels sprouts, green apples, beet roots and broccoli in addition to getting plenty of exercise to oxygenate her body and, in turn, fight off cancer cells. It worked; to this day, she's involved in running hundreds of marathons annually and she remains healthy.(3)

Learn more about her story in this video and remember to avoid junk foods, eat healthy and always remain aware of scams that are more about their needs than your own.
