(NaturalNews) A recent meta-analysis of studies published in JAMA looking at the use of antibiotics for ear infections vs. the watch and wait approach (no treatment) found that the treatment group improved slightly, but the improvements were offset by side effects such as rash and diarrhea. This meta-analysis is scientific proof that no treatment at all is better than antibiotic treatment for ear infections. Superior to no treatment at all is homeopathic treatment. Another study published in 2001 in the British Homeopathic Journal compared homeopathic treatment to placebo treatment in 230 children with acute ear infections. After 12 hours, 72% of the children recovered 2.4 times faster than those children who received placebo.

Pulsatilla: This is a good children's remedy for
ear infections. The person is mild, weepy, and craves affection. There is yellow or green discharge from the nose or ears.
Dosage and repetition: Single and combination remedies can be given as needed: every 15-30 minutes during an acute crisis and then three times daily as symptoms subside.
