Since all other parts of the lemon are used to make the balm, let's explore the various reasons to consume lemon juice. The wonderfully nutritious lemon fruit juice is known to help improve coughs, sore throat, laryngitis, indigestion, constipation, gallstones, arthritis, cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure and itching. Here are 11 more reasons to add lemon juice to the eating regime. The nutrients in lemon juice support the body in healing skin sores, hiccups, insect bites, colds and flus, food poisoning, flatulence, atherosclerosis, heart palpitations, acidosis and warts too. What are some of the nutrients in the juice of this amazing citrus? Lemon juice contains vitamin C, folic acid, limonene, vitamins B-1 and B-6, flavonoids and potassium. It also contains these six important nutrients of pro-vitamin A, copper, manganese, phosphorus, malic acid and calcium. Do you know that peppermint is widely used in natural skin care for its stimulating, antiseptic, soothing, refreshing and cooling properties? It's exciting to know that the menthol(a phytochemical and an essential oil) - in peppermint - has antibacterial, antiviral and analgesic effects. Lemon Balm is the answer for what to do with those organic or biodynamic or sustainably-grown seeds, white pith and brilliant yellow rind of the glorious lemon citrus fruit. Lemon Balm is also the answer for what to do with the peppermint stems after using their leaves in culinary creations. What else goes into this skin-care recipe? It's all up to you! Use the aroma therapy Lemon Balm as is or let your imagination run wild. You can add some highest quality unheated fresh aloe vera to it or maybe add some honey of the same quality? The possibilities are endless. Whether you choose to give yourself a Lemon Balm facial or whether you choose to give yourself a luxurious and indulgent full body treatment, you will enjoy a marvelous invigorating experience. Remember the children in your life. Children absolutely love the natural fun of slathering on this lovely Lemon Balm. Here is how to make it: Ingredients: Seeds, white pith and yellow rind from 2-pounds lemons (sustainably-grown or organic or biodynamic) Fresh peppermint stems from a small bunch (sustainably-grown or organic or biodynamic) Minimum 1-cup to maximum 1-3/4 cups (dry measure) water (cool-temperature filtered or cool-temperature mineral-rich fresh spring water) Directions: Place all ingredients into a high-powered heavy-duty blender along with the minimum of 1 cup of water. The blender that you use will determine your success (or the lack thereof) in making this skin-care recipe. Begin the processing with a low speed setting. Start and stop on this low speed setting until the lemon components are broken down into little pieces. Use a spatula to scrape down the mixture(forcing it back toward the blender blade while it is in the process of breaking down the lemon components). Now, puree on 'whole juice' setting one time (with the extra 3/4 cup of water only if necessary). Voila, a naturally binding (from the pectin) rich skin cream (that clings to the skin until it is rinsed off). How Do I Use The Lemon Balm? Lavishly slather the balm onto dry skin. Allow balm to remain on the skin for a minimum of 5-minutes(or up to 15-minutes). If dry skin brushing is part of your personal-care and health routine, dry skin brush first then follow with putting on the balm. Dry skin brushing before putting on the balm will give you the most excellent result. The Lemon Balm is easily rinsed off with water. For that day, suggested is to use nothing else on the skin that you treated with the Lemon Balm. Notes: 1. Good lemon varieties to use to make the Lemon Balm recipe are lisbon, eureka or bearss. When choosing lemons and mint, do reach for the standard of sustainable, organic or biodynamic. 2. To measure the water, use a dry measure = those graduated measuring cups that come in 1/8-cup, 1/4-cup, 1/3-cup, 1/2-cup and 1-cup etc. These type measuring cups stack into one another and they come with handles. 3. Bottled spring water from the marketplace is not recommended. Fresh water that you gather from one of earth's natural springs is highly recommended.
