(NaturalNews) Are you part of an upcoming adventure tour or real estate tour in Ecuador with the Health Ranger? You will have so much fun! Here's what you should prepare and bring:
Ancient Cities of the Sun TourCheck the equipment list at this URL: http://www.naturalnews.com/026042.html
Bring most or all of that gear with you on this tour. You'll also want plenty of spare cash (small bills are best).
If you need transportation from the Quito airport to your hotel, make sure you email us in advance of your arrival time so we can arrange for a taxi to pick you up.
Also be sure to bring a good photo camera and / or video camera. Keep them relatively small-sized, since you'll be packing them around on foot.
All adventure tours are FRAGRANCE FREE. So please do not bring any perfumed or fragrance products. We are sharing space on a bus and in the hotel dining room, and many of our participants do not wish to be around fragrance products.
If you intend to potentially find a piece of property on the tour that you wish to make an offer on, you'll want to be prepared to make that offer and even make a down payment on the land before you leave.
Here's what you'll need to prepare:
• Bring FIVE color copies of your passport (just the first page with your photo). These are often needed in paperwork processes in Ecuador.
• If possible, prepare your bank for a remote wire transfer. Set things up so that you can initiate a wire transfer remotely, via fax, email or web access. This way, if you do find a piece of land that you wish to purchase, and you can reach an agreement with the seller, you can make an initial down payment via wire transfer to an Ecuadorian bank.
• If you wish to map out a piece of land, bring a GPS unit with a "track" capability. This way, you can turn on the GPS track and just walk the perimeter of the land, then you can look at the track or sync it with your laptop and overlay it on Google Earth (or some other mapping program).
• A laser rangefinder can be useful. Many times, the size of the land being offered for sale is just a guesstimate. A rangefinder (commonly used by golfers) can help you gauge distances so you can get a good idea of whether the size of the land you're being quoted is accurate. Similarly, a laser measuring device can help you determine the actual size of a home. Many homes are also sold with inaccurate size descriptions. You should double-check all sizes yourself.
• A portable calculator will help you do the math on converting hectares to acres (for U.S. visitors) or square meters to square feet. (Ecuador uses the metric system.) There are 2.4 acres in a hectare, which contains 10,000 square meters. Doing the math on the spot, with a portable calculator, can help you negotiate a deal with the seller (because then you know what you're actually buying).
Why I'm hosting real estate tours in VilcabambaI have no need for extra work, and I'm not switching careers to real estate. But I am interested in attracting quality neighbors to help make the Valley of Longevity an even greater natural paradise. I'm far more interested in the QUALITY of the people I help introduce to Ecuador than any monetary gain associated with real estate tours.
In fact, you'll find me to be a blunt, honest and detailed source of information about Vilcabamba. For each property we visit, I'll tell you:
