(NaturalNews) It is time to go public with the official announcement of what I'm working on in Ecuador. On Friday, March 20, 2009 (the Spring Equinox), we officially initiated the construction of our Ecuadorian Botanical Refuge / Health Retreat located near Vilcabamba, Ecuador. There has been some speculation as to why I've moved to Ecuador, and this article answers those questions and describes the plans for the future.

Rumors are that I've "escaped" to Ecuador to avoid the collapse of America. That's not a bad plan, actually, but what I'm doing in Ecuador is far more interesting and important: We are creating a living seed bank of hundreds of medicinal plants (and superfoods) from all around the world. This living seed bank will keep these plants growing and evolving while making fresh fruits and herbs available to future visitors.
We already have hundreds of medicinal plant seeds here in Ecuador, with perhaps fifty varieties in the sprouting stage. Many medicines we are growing here have been banned in the United States by the tyrannical FDA which seeks to abolish medicinal knowledge and criminalize those who grow and use medicinal plants. For example, we're growing ma huang (ephedra), which has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for 5,000 years but is now banned in America thanks to the criminally-operated FDA.
In time, we will be able to invite visitors to come experience these medicinal plants for themselves. Visitors will be able to stay here for short visits (one week) or long visits (six months) and transform their own health through abundant natural living. With the guidance of an on-site naturopathic physician, visitors will be taught how to harvest medicinal plants and make their own natural medicines which they can bring back to the United States or other countries (as long as they don't call them "medicine," of course, since real medicine is illegal in the U.S.A.).
So our big picture goal here is to grow superfoods and natural medicines, save and share their seeds, and teach people about real food and real medicine through first-hand experience in this amazing healing environment. With the assistance of the proper naturopathic doctors, we will also welcome individuals with cancer, diabetes, heart disease and other degenerative diseases who wish to experience a self-healing transformation based on nutrition, clean living and potent medicinal herbs.
You might call it "natural medical tourism," except that this retreat offers real medicine from Mother Nature, not synthetic chemicals (pharmaceuticals) and dangerous surgical procedures. People heal themselves here. They are not "healed" by someone else.
