Boils can be brought on by stress, illness, toxicity in the body, allergies, lowered immunities, and thyroid imbalances. Boils are red, painful and usually appear suddenly. In addition, fever and swelling of the lymph nodes that are nearest the boil may happen as well. If not treated, a boil will eventually open, drain, and heal within approximately one to three weeks. If treated, the duration of the boil can be reduced and the symptoms will be less severe. It is important to know that boils are contagious. Do not allow any draining pus to come into contact with skin in other areas. Avoid scratching because this can cause the infection to spread. If a boil spreads to other areas, the condition is then called a "carbuncle." A carbuncle is a group of boils that usually grows larger. A carbuncle is slower to heal than a single boil. The treatment for both boils and carbuncles is identical. To heal boils naturally, garlic is an ideal food to eat. Garlic is a very effective antiseptic and is useful for detoxifying the body. Try to add garlic into your diet as much as possible. Constipation can exacerbate skin problems because when constipated, more waste must be eliminated through the skin. To avoid constipation, drink a minimum of eight glasses of water each day and make sure your diet is high in fiber. If you find that your immune system is lacking, consider embarking on a healing diet. This can improve your immune system effectively and help your body fight off infection. Be sure that your diet consists of fresh, whole, unprocessed foods. Eat plenty of dark green and leafy vegetables every day, as well as fresh fruits. Consider juicing as an effective way to incorporate fresh fruits and vegetables into your diet easily. Eliminate sugar and all refined foods from your diet. Consider a short juice fast to help your body be cleansed of toxins and impurities. To treat boils topically, apply moist heat to the affected area for 20 minutes several times per day. Keep the area covered and clean. Either onion juice or garlic juice can be applied to a boil to ripen them and hasten healing. The juices of either or both of these vegetables can be mixed in equal quantities and applied directly to the boil. When the boil forms a pustule ("forms a head") it is ready to drain. Most boils will drain on their own. Source: http://www.healingdaily.com/conditi... http://www.home-remedies-for-you.co... http://www.mahalo.com/How_to_Treat_...
