(NaturalNews) This interview is an excerpt from Kevin Gianni's Raw Summit Teleseminar program which can be found at (http://www.rawsummitarchives.com) . In this excerpt, Dorit tells us about her thoughts on why people eat.

Raw Summit Excerpt with Dorit, a Certified Living Foods Chef, educator for the Chopra Centre, coaches Lifeskills Groups, and is a retreat and workshop leader for medically supervised Cleansing and Detoxification Retreats.

Kevin: Hello everyone. This is Kevin Gianni and I'd like to welcome you to another very special Raw Summit Teleseminar, which can be found online at (http://www.rawsummitarchives.com) . Today I have a very special guest on the line. She is a raw and living foods transition expert and author of Celebrating Our Raw Nature. Dorit, welcome to the Raw Summit.

Dorit: Thank you very much Kevin.

Kevin: It’s a pretty amazing concept. Let’s talk about that but first I want to just do a
landscape of this, and I want you to just give me an idea of, you have some pretty strong ideas of why we eat. So why don’t we talk about why we eat first.

Dorit: Well, first of all we don’t have to eat. We don’t. We only need two things to survive. One is air, because nothing in the human body or life on this planet exists without the oxygen. The trees need the carbon dioxide, we need their oxygen. There is a give and take for all green life anyway, not only trees. Then we also need water. Those are the two things that the body needs more than anything else.

Kevin: Sure.

Dorit: How do we know this for sure? Because we’ve always had Brazilians amongst us and we still do.

Kevin: Sure.

Dorit: And so we know that this is a fact. We always talked about this for years. You
know, going to India was one of the most highlights of my life and going to the shopping center, it was wonderful because I have got to meet people, but normally people don’t meet in the city, who knew that it’s only a mind game we play with ourselves that we must have food. We hear that we have to eat and we believe it and if you believe it then you better eat. Otherwise, yes, you will be malnourished and your body will not get the nourishment and you will die. We are told, do not go into the sun, especially when it’s hot, you know at certain hours, because it is bad for you. Again, that
was bad, it will cause cancer. That is not true.

The sun is one of the highest life forms in the planet and we have polluted the ozone layer, that is quite destructive, and we have also not used the proper sweets. Our body now no longer knows how to filter the sun and how to absorb the parts of the sun’s rays that we need for growth and for nourishment. So, that is why people who are preparing to become sun gazers, if they use that channel, the energy of that is for their cells. So I know we don’t need to eat. However, when we do eat, why are we eating?

For most people who are not eating vegetables, they are shoveling things down and they aren't stopping. So that’s not eating and I’ve seen a lot in the raw movement, all the time. And I believe very strongly, Kevin, that nobody should go raw until they have addressed their issues of food and addressed their relationship with themselves, because our relationship with food is indicative of our relations with ourselves or relationship with ourselves are indicative of our relationships with our parents, or siblings, or entire family structure and the community at large or country as a world. And so when we address that, it then is much easier to transition into raw and then you can even jump into raw, you don’t even need a transition then, and I think the most important aspect of transitioning into raw is to deal with the emotional issues of food. Once you deal with that, you can eat some cooked. You don’t have to give it all up at once, or you can just go all raw for the rest of your life or you can do a combination of both.

Kevin: Sure. You say it so easily.

Dorit: It’s the truth. That’s the thing. Things are only difficult when we resist them
because difficulty comes from the resistance. The thing is that, Kevin, we do not have a support system set up. First, we look at our issues and develop our personal growth from the stand point of, “What do I need to live my highest life?” "How can I go inside of me and find my highest self?" Everything is catered from the outside. We are thought to look on the outside for all solutions. All of our desires are about how to feel better. People say to you if you said, “I’m feeling ill today”, just say “I’m feeling ill” don’t say “I don’t feel good”. Just say “I’m ill”. “I am not feeling good” as we judge it, which means something is wrong with us. Nothing is wrong, your body might be coughing off something, which it has to, that’s part of who we are or maybe you need that as a down period. Maybe your life is telling you to slow down, you need some rest, or you need to regroup, or you need to go internally.

Just as I said before that we need a transition into seasons with our food supply. We also need to do that with our daily habits, for example, we know that in winter, especially cold winters, most animals hibernate because of the reason that the sunlight is only out for a short period of the day. We ignore that and we don’t go to sleep early in the winter, we keep going. So we need a transition into seasons or everything of our entire lifestyle. That is why I don’t think that being raw is a diet, it’s a lifestyle. It’s about being raw in every aspect of our lives, or emotions, and the food. And here is the problem -- You asked, “why do we eat?” Why do we eat? We’re meant to be eating for nourishment. What kind of nourishment? There is a need to nourish all the senses, nourishing your sight. So you need to eat foods that really and truly and completely sustain the sense of sight so all the different colors, or the sense of touch, all the different textures, or sense of smell, all the different smells, bitter, sweet, pungent, salty. You must be able to taste all of that.

So all of our senses need to be nourished and so, the art of seduction happens not with the food on the table, but how we actually get our food from the food supply. I personally live in Los Angeles. I live in the half city so, I get most of my food supply from the farmers, directly from the farmers. It’s best to grow your own or to go get them wild because then the seduction of the food begins. You go out, you see what’s available and what the earth has given up. And then, you talk to the plant and you thank it. You ask "do you wish to be picked now?" If it says yes, and you will know, once you develop this and it does come naturally. Children all do this by the way, instinctively, at the beginning. That’s how they’ll push things away and they don’t want this, and they’ll pick something outside in the garden and eat it instead, but in the tables, they don’t eat what’s being feed. You know, they are very smart. And so, this is something that is very important.

I mean, most animals when they are ill, they’ll eat grass. So here we are with grass, you know, we just need the juices, that’s what we need to do. So why do we eat? We eat for various reasons but, we are just coming out to the point where we eat in order to entertain ourselves, in order to feel better and not to have feelings. If we are open to having feelings, then we will not ask for food to do for us what we will not do for ourselves. Then, we can start eating. The process of eating doesn’t mean simply that you have to chew well, but you have got to smell the food, see the food, touch it, you’ve got to make love to your food. You’ve got to find out whose growing your food. Get to know them. Have a personal energetic connection with them and relationship with them. So it goes beyond the actual thing that you are putting in your mouth.

It is all the energies that have gone in the food before you have put it into your mouth; the people who drove the trucks, the people who slipped it off the trucks and put it wherever it is that you’ve got it from. The people who made sure that your food supply was picked. You’ve got to get to know them, whether energetically or what, and bless them and give them thanks and also work on their behalf. So work for the farm workers if you get any foods from the farm. Make sure that their needs have been taken cared of by making sure that there are laws there for them. So, we can’t just be selfish and just gobble things up because “I love this”, “I love the taste of this milk”. Find out, who are the people who were responsible for getting this to you, and give them your love first.

Kevin: Well I want to thank you Dorit so much for this call. This has been enlightening, exciting, enjoyable and all of these wonderful things. What we have done is that we set up a page
where you could get some more information about Dorit and that page is (www.rawsummit.com/dorit) . Thank you so much for this interview.

Dorit: Kevin, it was a pleasure. Thank you very much for actually inviting me to be part
of this and I think that it is great that you are doing this summit by the way. I think it’s a brilliant concept with marks and I really am thrilled that I was involved and that also there is a summit now and hoping that this will go to all mainstream and not just the people in the raw community.

Kevin: That is the goal here.

Dorit: Great...

Kevin: Alright. Thank you so much.

Dorit: Thank you so much Kevin and bon appétit!.
