- When it comes to staying in shape and keeping the wrinkles at bay, the Hollywood stars rely on a simple but effective way devised by nutrition and anti-aging guru, Dr. Patricia Bragg.
- Demi Moore, Bruce Willis, Tom Selleck and just about all the well known stars are said to be huge fans of her Liquid Aminos, a soya bean extract of acids.
- "My philosophy is that you are what you eat and drink breathe, think and do," she said.
- The key to Dr. Bragg's ageless aging philosophy lies in exercising every day, practising deep-breathing techniques, drinking 10 glasses of purified water a day and fasting occasionally.
- After that, and most importantly, she advises a diet low in animal fats and high in raw vegetables, pulses, beans and salads.
- "You are the sum total of the food you consume."
- Such potential poisons may, if left unchecked, will lead to premature aging, lethargy and ill health.
- Next, take the time to analyze your well-being, Dr. Bragg suggests writing down every thing you eat and drink throughout the day and digestive and sleeping patterns.
- If a person can reach the point at which their diet contains 60 to 70 per cent raw or lightly cooked fruits and vegetables with a minimum amount of fats and sugars, they can live in a higher state of health for many long and vigorous years, Dr. Bragg says.
- One fifth of what you consume should be protein, preferably from a vegetarian source such as cereals, sprouts, raw seeds and nuts, beans and pulses.
- If you do like meat and fish, eat it no more than three times a week.
- For example, a chubby individual pleasant and easy going, who loves to enjoy life's goodies come what may, goes on strict arduous diet and loses the happy-go-lucky way and become obsessed with dieting.
