Though the vitamin industry performs some lab testing on their products using human volunteers, what we are not necessarily told to consider about the test results is that we are all genetic miracles and our body chemistries are as individual and unique as each and every snowflake that falls each year. With this in mind, how can a test conducted on someone else identify how well your body will absorb its daily vitamins? The answer, unfortunately, is not much! Does "not much" warrant the amount of money spent on vitamins and supplements daily?
Fortunately, today’s advances in technology have lead to the creation of equipment that can quickly and accurately test how well a human body is absorbing the vitamins it consumes. Since vitamin absorption is the key to getting the desired health benefits, this simple test can arm us with the knowledge to make educated investments in our future health by identifying which vitamins and supplements our body absorbs best.
Dr. J.J. Levine, from Tempe Arizona, is one of the creative Arizona Chiropractors that has caught on to this new era of technology and put it to use in his clinic, Innate Life Center. "I have always looked for viable, non invasive, diagnostic equipment that could help my patients achieve better health," said Dr. Levine. "After I saw a scanner demonstration I knew I had to have one for my clinic. To have a computer that can read a patient’s antioxidant skin score in three minutes is a must have. I have been helping educate people and allowing them to see how well they are absorbing their antioxidants."
Only a handful of doctors and Chiropractors have implemented this equipment in their practices. In fact, the technology is so new that many people have not been exposed to it and have not had the opportunity to be scanned. The response to testing by patients at Innate Life Center has been exactly what you would expect – they love it. The information obtained is so critical that a patient of Dr. Levine’s, Michelle Viti, who takes vitamins and supplements on a daily basis had this to say. "After experiencing [my scan], my skepticism diminished! My initial Skin Carotenoid Score was 22,000 when it should have been 50,000 in the least! I was very disappointed considering my practice of preventative maintenance in establishing a healthy lifestyle. [I] received my second scan a week after my [new supplements] diminished. When my score showed 30,000 I was convinced and relieved - there was finally a product that proved it's worth!"
Anyone who takes vitamins and supplements could benefit greatly by having a scan performed to identify whether or not their vitamins and supplements are being absorbed into their bodies. If the test results show that they are not being absorbed, then your money spent on vitamins is being poured down the drain. If this is the case your doctor or chiropractor can discuss with you other vitamin and supplement options that you can try, and the test process can be repeated until you find the ones that work.
You can research vitamin intake scan equipment on the Internet, or consult your local health care provider.
