The symposium will be held April 9-11, 2005 at the Georgetown University Conference Center. It is being organized by Dr. Richard Rivlin, Dr. Matthew Budoff and Dr. Harunobu Amagase, and supported by the Strang Cancer Prevention Center, affiliated with Cornell University Weill Medical College, and Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Co-sponsored by the University of California at Irvine, the American Society for Nutritional Sciences and American Botanical Council, the symposium will focus on several significant garlic-related studies.
Out of the 36 scientific presentations, highlights include:

• Influence of Garlic on Endothelial Dysfunction in Hyperhomocystenemia, presented by Norbert Weiss, University of Munich in Germany;
• Coumadine-Garlic Interaction in the Deep Vein Thrombosis Patients, presented by Tim Macan, Harbor-UCLA Medical Center; and
• Drug-Interaction with Garlic through P450 Metabolism, presented by David Greenblatt, Tufts University.
