Summary
In the wake of consumer complaints about Apple iPod's short battery life, accessory company FastMac recently unveiled its replacement battery for the popular portable digital media player, which is said to have 70 percent more capacity and up to 7.5 times more charge cycles than the original battery, ARNnet reports.

Details
- FastMac on Monday announced the availability of a battery replacement for Apple's first, second and third-generation iPods that features 70 percent more capacity than the original and up to 7.5 times more charge cycles.
- The battery comes with a two-year warranty and 30-day money back guarantee.
- FastMac's new battery features "TruePower" technology, which slows its degradation, according to the company, which claims the technology smoothes out power spikes that can, over long periods, damage iPod batteries.
- Such spikes are caused by activity like turning on the backlight or loading the next few songs, said FastMac.
- The replacement battery costs US$39.95 for first and second-generation iPods, and US$29.95 for third-generation iPods.
- If you'd prefer to have them do it, FastMac offers an iPod upgrade program for US$49.95 that includes three-way shipping, installation, and 48-hour turnaround.
