Australia claims success with anti-spam law

Australia passed its own anti-spam legislation that many observers say is far better than the CAN-SPAM Act passed in the U.S. And the Australian law appears to be working better than the U.S. law: major Auzzie spammers have been shut down, reducing the amount of spam received by email users in that country.

Even with this small measure of success, however, there's little doubt that Australian email users continue to receive spam from around the world -- and lots of it.
